Low level TF Build Broadsword/Invulnerability

Hey Scrapperites:

My main, a level 50 Broadsword/Invulnerable Scrapper, is planning on completing his 2nd build and I wanted it to be "more effective" for the low level TF's.

As way of history, I just ran my first Synapse and Sister Psyche and he only had Parry and Hack along with is Veteran attacks (Axe and Nemi Staff) with Build Up. I didn't feel very Scrappery or as big damage guy as I normally would.

So...effective Low Level TF build: Posi level 15 (travel at 14? Toxic Reist?), Synapse level 20 (stamina and 1 AoE?), and Sis Psyche level 25 (2 AoEs?). I'd be interested to see if they are soloable also but that's not a requirement by any means.

I'll build it to 50 so everything at the low level will have 6 slots of IO's (common) if they normally would.

Thoughts and previous experience appreciated.

I ran into a simular problem when I first exemp down to do posi on my BS/regen. All I had was hack and slash. No vet powers at the time. After that and before duo builds came out, I had to plan ahead by assuming I was gonna have to exemp again since I still haven't done the COT trial. The best thing you do is work parry in the build, go to the shadow shard and buy a raptor pack (I still had time on the raptor and zero g from the low level bank mish), and take the def powers open to you after you get the three attacks. If you plan on getting stamina, might as well work swift and health in before 14 and slot swift with a flight IO to help the speed of the raptor. Since this is just a 2nd build for low level TFs this set up should work for the first three TFs with just adding desired powers as they open after 14 with little concern for the later powers. That's what I came up with off the top of my head my head at work typing on a blackberry. There might be a better option but it cant be too much different at that level.

Thanks Rieze...I'll play around with Mids a bit more.

Anyone else have thoughts? Previous experience running the low level TFs with Broadsword?

Thanks in advance.

Nothing? No previous experience available? No solo'd Posi info? No build help? No interest in helping? Not enough thread post by OP?

I guess I should have started a Flame Topic...like /Dark Sux or Scrappers Sux to elicit a response....

Maybe my Scrappers is more ubers than yours is ubers thread to get the blood boiling.

Thanks anyways...

I soloed a Posi TF on my exemped BS/Inv. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but still took about 4 hours (though I slept for 7 hours in between).

I had Hack/Slice/Parry, and Sands/Axe/Blackwand, and there were still some annoying pauses in the attack cycle. I think if you swapped Slash for Slice (or just added it), it would make it smoother. Generally speaking, I would pack in as many Attacks as I can, plus Build-up. If you have or can get a Temp Travel power, you can forego Travel pool.

I have a Stealth IO in Sprint, so I stealthed whatever missions I could. I don't remember for sure, but I probably stocked up on Def inspirations, and if convenient, you can restock if you are near an Arena.

Also, if a fight is unwinnable, just run and rest. You can waste a lot of time traveling from the hospital back to the mission.

Well, it looks like you decided to turn it INTO a flame topic. Excellent choice. I'm sure the constructive feedback will start rolling in now (actually, there's a chance it might, which is kind of sad).

I think you may be suffering from an inflated sense of entitlement. Nobody here is getting paid. None of us owe you anything. I like being helpful, but there are only so many hours in the day and so many topics I can respond to. Looks like last night just wasn't your night. Many nights I don't even get to play the game because I'm too busy trying to help other people. How about you? No? OK, then. Moving on.

Oddly enough, I've been running a new BS/INV up from scratch while prepping to rewrite my I6 guide (I never said I was fast!). I've been running solo on lvl 5 difficulty up to about lvl 30 right now, so I've got some advice for you:

Lack of attacks will be tough. Rely on veteran rewards and temp powers whenever you can. Get Hack, Slice and Parry by level 8. If you go travel power by lvl 14, then take Jump Kick, Flurry or Air Superiority for an extra attack. You can take Slash if you really want, but it's kind of a tight build until the 20s, and you'll just respec out of it later.

I would go:
1 Hack
1 RPD
2 Slice
4 Dull Pain
6 Temp Invuln
8 Parry
10 Jump Kick (take that!)
12 Hurdle
14 Super Leap
16 Unyielding
18 Health
20 Stamina

From here you can add Build Up, Whirling Sword, or some Pool Powers. Or you can start on the Resist Energy/Elements track. Keep 26 and 28 open for Disembowel and Invincibility respectively.

Ooh, a sarcasm detector. Oh, that's a *real* useful invention. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technolog...t-sarcasm.html

Thanks for the responses....the extra attack options make the most sense. I acutally think I might take Slice because I didn't take Mu so at least I'll have one cone.

I was actually wondering about Resist Elements for Toxic Resist but Parry would probably be best along with purples insp.

Appreciate the advice.

Bah! I always get slice and slash mixed up. Yeah. Slice is what I meant though. Slash just sounds better.

So I just finished something similar, on of my toons needs the Task Force accolade, so I got a filler, and used my BS/Shield to do all the heavy lifting.

It's at this point I want to say that I hate Positron, and everything he stands for.

but, Slash, Parry, Slice and Build-up (along with Sands and the Staff) were MORE than enough to see me through.

What I found myself slipping into was use the Staff to pull, then get them nicely gathered round a corner, Build-up, Slice, they all fall down. Easy!

Though if I HAD to do it again, I'd also stock up on a few extra Shivans (didn't have any when starting), and carry more Breakfrees, (didnt have mez protection, and almost every boss packed a mez power, bah, humbug!)
She also burned a lifetimes supply of inspirations over the course of it, mainly due to the Abominations awful spew power (toxic DoT with -res)
but for the most part, spamming Parry will keep you softcapped for melee (the other reason for pulling them to corners, ie, dont let them use ranged) and survivability is pretty easy.

And the final part, travel? There wasn't a lot of travel needed really. Though I do have the mish transporter and the pocket D pass, both of which got used during the course of it. And the temp Jetpack did the rest.

so yeah, the Verdict, -
Positron is very easy,
(Just mind numbingly dull, and akin to having teeth pulled, grab a shivan and be sure to make generous use of your Insps if you must do it.)

As for Synapse, I'm thinking of trying that on Monday (followed closely by Sister Psy) and will hopefully have a wider range of powers for them (mez protect, & Whirling Sword) and with a smaller team the final AVs should spawn as EBs and be quite manageable (especially with a pocket Shivan)

So yeah, late night ramblings I know, but I hope they help and give you the info you need
