Need Blaster Build IO Set and Slot Advice

Played from initial release to just after Cov came out. Free week got me to sign up again to a world of change. IO and Slotting advice appreciated... and I realize that Calc Acc set prob no good, but got entire set for under 1 mil and wanted to see how sets work.

I am a AE hover blaster and pretty happy with the power selections I have, but my eyes are bleeding from reading up on slots and io's and ED

Calibrated Accuracy is just fine. Since you're a ranged / hover blaster, you want stuff that adds to ranged defense. Those are:

* Thunderstrikes (6 slotted in Slug, Burst)
* Red Fortune (6 slotted in either Cloak, Manuevers if you have it, Stealth, Hover)
* Gaussian ToHit (6 slotted in Targeting Drone)
* 2 Universal Travels (Blezzing of the Zephyr in Fly, maybe Hover)
* and maybe a Def/Res Steadfast unique in your epic shield.

Yep Fury has summed it up quite nicely, also pretty sure theres a guide or too on slotting up Blasters specifially for Defense as well as a decent AR/Dev Guide, both are in the Guides section, take a look an see if can get the link for ya if dont already have it. Also dont let some of the prices scare ya as you can put in lowball bids an wiat abit to get stuff on the cheaper end but takes time depending on item an price/quanity. Its pretty effective to softcap defense(45% iirc) and fairly cheap on obtaining depending on sets an time as mentioned earlier. Doesn't matter its a booby trap set in a booby trap power. It gives two ranged defense bonuses that add up to nearly 3% additional ranged defense. A decent recharge and accuracy bonus as well. Its also dirt cheap.

Its nice to have range in Buck Shot (actually i don't even like this power) and Flame Thrower.

If you can, you might squeeze a Force Feedback:chance for rech in your AoE kb powers.

I would put a range or damage proc's in Caltrops

Since Beanbag and Tripmine are one slotted, why not drop them for something else. Aid self would be my vote

Want to thnx everyone for there input... here is what I came up with... unless there are any magor objections this is what I am going to try out (and actually I am half way there already, with all the attack slots and a few other powers filled)...

it is really kikin butt so far, I almost always have an aoe atk up and ready to go and the only time I have been dieing is if I lose my situational awareness and let a boss get underneath me...

Couple minor IO points:

* You don't need "level 50" of most things. If you look at Thunderstrike, for instance, the difference between level 50's and level 45's comes out to something like 3% on acc, end, and recharge, and far less than that on damage. You may have just slotted level 50's because everything is free in Mid's.

* For that matter, you don't necessarily need or want full sets of the same thing in everything. Looking at your level 47 LRM slotting, for instance: You're running about 22% recharge. You could slot three Dam/Rech from different targeted AOE sets, an Acc/Dam, a generic Recharge, and be launching rockets about twice as often for much cheaper in five slots. You would lose a little global accuracy [not IMO a big deal] and a little global recharge [possibly a big deal] but you would gain 70% recharge in that one power.

Your sixth Detonation in M30 Grenade (if you take out the Dam/End) gets you only a little endurance and, like, 3% more damage in that power. The set bonus is "toxic resistance"... which is not on my list of must-haves for a blaster.

There are a few other things in there, I'm sure, but I just wanted to give you a general idea of what to look for. Also, I don't use Mids much, so I'm doing this by eye.

agreed... i just used 50's all around for mid... but when buying if there is a significant price diff I am dropping down some levels...

I took your advice on the lrm and some other sets where the 6th slot is not a must have...
