Baddies with special Kheldian Blasters
Anyone who has the Name:
Quantum "X villain"
or
Void "whatever"
For example, you can see Quantum Gunner (Hellions?) or Void Stalker.
has those weapons.
Later in the game it's not too big of an issue as you've got plenty of things to keep you alive.
Good luck on your PB!
I'm surprised you've never seen someone on your trip from 1-50 say, "quant" or "void"
Or maybe you have, but they weren't ever a real threat.
50s:
White Valkyrie - BS/Regen Scrap
Fear of Silence - Ninja/Dark MM
Corporate Zombie - Necro/Poison MM
Ardent Cataclysm - Stone/Fire Tank
Angelic Heart - Peacebringer
Maelstrom - Elec/Elec Brute
Novastar - Energy/Fire Blaster
yeah, i did see "quant" and "void" but you're right, they were never really a threat. My first 50 is a emp/defender, so I didn't focus on targeting so much on teamed mishes. Soloing as a def, everything was hard, so it didn't make a diff that way either.
thanks!
Triumph Lurker: mintmiki 50 emp/archer
basically, if you see a miki on Triumph, it's probably cute and it's probably me.
Huge thanks to cuppamanga and all the folks in the mac help forum for prolonging my borrowed time on this game.

No problem!
What server you play on? It's always fun to meet up with new (and old) kheld players.

All enemy groups have a chance to spawn Quantum Gunners when a Kheldian is present. They carry Quantum Array Guns that do bonus Negative Energy damage to Kheldians. Void Hunters also carry these weapons but can only be found among particular groups, usually the ones that would be incapable of purchasing the guns for themselves (Devouring Earth, Circle of Thorns, etc.).
I use the following bind to target these kind of threats immediately: /bind TAB "target_enemy_next$$target_custom_next enemy alive quantum$$target_custom_next enemy alive void$$target_custom_next enemy alive cyst"
That little number will turn your Tab key into a Quantum Gunner/Void Hunter/Shadow Cyst seeker while still maintaining its functionality as a general targeting key.
Ahh extra info from Timeshadow that helps make the game easier for a kheld.
Definitely worth doing. And yes there are a few that wouldn't have the quantum guns.
Though I still insist I want to see a Quantum Granite!

Wow! Thanks for the info.
I play my Kheld on Triumph. Thanks for the bind. Really helpful

I've used that bind for about a year, and it really saves my bacon sometimes.
This bind will force you to target one of these mobs, though, so one in the distance can throw off your targetting.
Because of this (And my melee toons) I have bound Q to target the closest enemy.
/bind q target_enemy_near

Look me up sometime in game @Starsurge. I've got a 50 of each Kheld and I'll be happy to run with you and answer any questions.

I do the exact same thing
Quantum = Kryptonite. It's the devs way of giving us a weakness.
It pays to scout out your foes first, and make sure there isn't a Quantum or Void amongst them. If there is, make sure he's your first and only target until he is dead. One will usually drop you in three hits or less, unless you're in Dwarf form, and even then it still hurts.
I don't know the number of times I've rushed into battle without thinking, heard that distinctive zap, and said, "Oh, no..." just as I hit the ground. I just come back and take him out first the next time, though.
Sheesh you guys... Q/V's aren't much of a bother... at least not if you're not in an-all-Kheldian team!
However, using the bind is a great idea, I've been using it (or something like it) for a long time now on both my Lv50 Kheldians, with very satisfying results.

Hey, just a random silly question. Why can't we pick up these quantum guns? Surely some mob along the way died/was arrested with minimal damage to the blaster! I mean, it would make the Imperious Task Force a little bit easier.
Where to now?

Actually, I believe there's a mission villain side that gets you a Quantum gun. Yep, there sure is
You can only use it against Kheldians and Nictus, though, and that's a small part of the total baddies in the game. Also, it's apparently not usable on players. (I was actually holding on to it just to test it out, but ah well. )
You get it as a villain specifically to take down a Warshade boss or a PPD Awakened boss (actually, Sunstorm, too!) at the end of the mission arc in which you get it. I suppose there really is no reason to give a Kheldian player such a weapon specially for a mission since so many of their missions are against other Kheldians. Plus, maybe it's just that the idea of the Quantum weapons are so abhorrent to Kheldians that they would never even consider using it on a "brother", even one that is an enemy.

Not to mention that a Kheld carrying a gun that is empowered to hurt Khelds seems oxymoronic. It would be like Superman carrying Kryptonite in his pocket.
Aren't void hunters just kheldians with quantum rifles?

Well in fairness.. Superman teams up with Batman fairly frequently who carries kryptonite in his pocket. It's close enough to the same thing. Think of batman as the gun.

No. Void Hunters are Council mercenaries infused with Nictus Fragments (The solidified essensces of Nictus) and outfitted with Quantum Array Guns.

Yeah, that's another thing. While Quantums are not usually a big problem as long as you watch for them, I hate running into Voids because they're resistant to YOUR attacks. That's when it's a good idea to have a Vet Reward power, or just close to melee and clobber them with a Smashing attack.
I just started on my new PB and was running a few mishes in the Hallows when I discovered that I kept getting sniped to death in a troll mish. When I looked at my combat log, I noticed that the Trollkin Gunners had some kind of weapon that was "specially tuned" to my frequency. The whole rest of the mish I had to target the gunners and try to off them before they killed me (which became difficult in a room of 4 gunners).
Are there any other baddies that have this "special" type of blaster that hurts Kheldians?
