Pros and Cons of Storm/Psy?
I have a lvl 50 Storm/Psy defender. He was made a long, long time ago...the original intent for him was to get all 3 'tornado' powers (Tornado, Psionic Tornado and Whirlwind from the Speed power pool).
This toon was almost always in debt (only a few times/levels where he wasn't in debt)...granted it's mainly cause I kept aggro'ing mobs like I would if I had my Kin/Rad (sometimes forget I couldn't heal myself ).
A nice synergy was the combo of Freezing Rain and Psionic Tornado; most, if not all, mobs got knocked down with that combo.
It was hard to solo him in the later levels (with all the psy resist on robots/carnies) but he was/is a good teammate. One problem I always had was with endurance. Granted I was playing this guy with all SOs (before IOs came out; in fact this guy still has all SOs in him ) so with all the ways to get better endurance reduction(s) it might not be a huge issue.
Edit: Forgot to mention that I took the Elec. Mastery APP/Epic Power Pool for the end. drain/+end for myself.
And a side note, it was funny seeing all the storm/psys getting pl'ed for pvp purposes when the combo of Whirlwind + Hurricane was being used I felt like an old(er) person, "I had this combo first before it was 'ub3r'!"

Storm/Psy should work well. They're both strong sets and neither of them have powers that would get in the way of the other.
I found myself becoming a one-trick pony.
Snowstorm- freezing rain - psionic tornado - psychic scream
Not really all that entertaining after 5 levels of that. But the lightning storm was always nice to have around.
Uh... cons? I'm sure there are some, somewhere...
As above - FR + PsiNado + Psy Scream.... solid ae potential. TK Blast + Willdom for st...
Tornado for AV's, LS for all sorts of things... hurricane and snowstorm when needed... leadership toggles...
Storm/Psi was my first defender, and I didn't find anything not to like about it other than no self heal, frankly.
Cool, thanks gang!

I've never found myself feeling like a one trick pony. Storm and psy each have diverse enough powers that I find there's plenty of variation to be had. I tend to open with psionic tornado followed immediately by freezing rain for as much alpha mitigation as I can muster (not to mention that floors recharge on just about everything except AVs). This means that the -recharge for snow storm is excessive and won't have any effect. Some might see this as a negative, but personally i like being able to floor recharge without needing to keep on an expensive toggle and worrying about whether the team will kill the anchor or not. I tend to use snow storm only when I'm on a large team that is slow moving. Otherwise, I don't need to worry about it.
scramble thoughts can be stacked with thunderclap to disorient bosses (although i find you're usually better off just charging in with hurricane).
There aren't a lot of amazing synergies with storm/psi, but psi has a very solid single target attack chain, as well as the potential for aoe damage. /psy does not have an aim, but all you really loose is the damage boost since freezing rain means you'll be able to hit everything anyway.
I've been playing Storm/Psy for over 5 years now (to the exclusion of just about everything else) and have no regrets. I solo on unyielding and rarely have any trouble, but can bring a lot to a team as well. I think storm/anything, is a good choice though.

I have a character concept that would fit a Storm Summoning/Psychic Blast defender pretty well, but I've burned myself in the past by combining two powersets without thoughts to synergies, or rather lack thereof.
Since there's no guide on this combo, maybe people don't play it much, which kinda makes me think I should stay away from it. I know Psi is heavily resisted in the upper levels, but is there any other reason to stay away from this combo? Is it reasonably soloable, or would team play be required for one to keep their sanity?
