Follow up slotting Pre-HO and Post-HO

So far with my lowbie claws scrapper I got him up to lvl 10. I noticed on alot of talk about follow up many folks are double or tripple stacking it. I just dont see how given the recharge on it being longer than the duration out of the box. I would end up having to sacrifice damage the power does just to get more recharge some how. I was wondering how do I make the most of this power at the lower levels. Do I slot my attacks first then dump slots into follow up? Or do I put slots in follow up and slot the other attacks later. Just so you know I have access to Yin-O's for damage. I tend to slot these instead of common IOs for damage in the lower levels until I can slot lvl 25 IOs. At first I was going to do this toon as SR but then I thought that this toon would be great as a brute whenever they decide to give brutes claws, so I am holding off on that concept for claws/sr brute. My current toon is claws/wp if that helps on the slotting advice. I am mainly doing this to get a feel for the endurance useage of the set so when I do go claws/sr as a brute it wont be as rough.

Well with hasten and 3 SO recharges, Follow Up can be perma double-stacked. So, pre-HOs: 3 recharge, 2 acc-- or use a set to get acc while maxing recharge-- damage and end reds would be a bonus. With HOs (lvl 47+), 3 membrane exposures and EITHER an IO set to max acc with damage and end red as a bonus OR 2 Nucleolus Exposures and an IO set triple Acc/Dam/End.

But with regards to Yin SOs, a tech origin SO from that shop is recharge. You could have Follow Up perma double stacked as soon as lvl 10 (not 9) whenever hasten is up.

Edit: I was wrong about lvl 9 cuz first lvl available for sale are lvl 13 SOs.

When slots are tight I tend to slot Follow Up 2 Acc/2 Recharge/maybe 1 End. You do not have to enhance the damage portion of Follow Up to be effective, but it is very nice. If you have the slots and end isn't a concern I'd go 2 Acc/2 Recharge/2 Dam.

For sets, 5 Crushing Impacts (minus the Acc/Dam) and any Acc/End/Recharge will be 55% Acc, 95% Dam, 77% End and Recharge with level 35s. With level 50s it's 63% Acc, 97% Damage, 88% End and Recharge.

With HO's 3 Nucleolus and 3 Membranes is 95% Acc Dam and Recharge, plus 56% to hit boost but without the end reduction.

And 2 nucleolus 2 membranes and the Crushing Impact Dam/End and Dam/End/Recharge is 66% Acc, 97% Dam, 47% End, 86% Recharge, and 40% To Hit.

With IO sets and global acc and to hit boosts available I don't slot Follow Up for To Hit anymore. I fall into the use CI's for set bonuses and frankenslot roughly level 35s.

Edited to remove the part I messed up when the boss walked by.

I treat Follow-up as an attack for slotting

Pre HO:
1-2 Acc 2-3 dam 1 endrec 1 recharge Or sets to suit

HO:
3 acc/dam 2 tohit/rech 1 tohit/end

My current 'tweaked' slotting with a large amount of global recharge (and accuracy)

3 acc/dam 1 tohit/rech 1 tohit/end 1 Touch of death Proc

Would anyone recommend the Gaussian Build Up Proc in Follow Up?

It adds a 5% chance of a further damage boost, is it 100% extra? Sort of like the damage boost from Follow Up critting.

I'm not sure. Im thinking of trying this one out unless anyone recommends against it from personal experience

I'm also a lover of Gaussian's CFBU in FU. Same goes for Decimation: CFBU in focus.

Good stuff.

Oh yea.. and Achilles' Heel: CFDamresDebuff in slash.

Be well, people of CoH.

[/ QUOTE ]I was going to also ask about the last one because I have this in the similar attack on my dual blades stalker and it does the debuff on all critters around me when I do the sweep combo. I was wondering will it proc often as a single target attack instead?

Only meaningfully. You won't likely encounter targets barring for EBs, AVs, and bosses that actually merit your slashing multiple times, after all.

the AH proc?

Against Pylons, EBs, AVs etc, its a must have.
If you're going to see them or a lot of purple regularly, do it.
Otherwise, use it for something else.
But against anything big - Must Have!
