Grrrr on the double posting... Connection seems wonky tonight.

Ya...the white rabbit heads were just another little reference to Alice with the whole "chasing the white rabbit" sequence in the book. I think they would have stuck out more if I got the glowing red eyes and the flames shooting out like I was hoping lols.

This was a fun piece to do, so I am glad it's been checked out enough to catch some of the smaller details. The Mad Hatter was definitely one of the more fun details though and it's cool that some positive comments have been made about that element!

Hi all, I can't believe it is almost May already! If it wasn't for this FArt contest, I don't think I would ever be taking a break this year (so far) to do some random personal art stuff - at the very least this thing is a good motivator for me.

Here is my submisison for the April 2010 FArt contest.

"Reclusive Family Portrait" of the wonderful folks over on red side.

Hm. I think that'll get my vote this month.

I'm glad that ya chose red paper for that.

Mind me asking the paper size?

On the FArt thread, he said something like 26 x 20.

Still pretty amazing!

Combo "bump" and rant!

WTF!...ARGH....so Dick Blick art store shutdown after years of being here and basically merged all their stuff into a mega DB store about 45 minutes away in another city. I didn't really care when that happened last year (lols), but I just now realized none of the other art stores in town carry the art pens I use! BOO!

After 2 hours driving around town hitting all the other art stores, I realize I should've just checked online. *I blame using cold medicine for the last 2 weeks on not thinking of this sooner*

Anyways, I got my pens on order but my FArt this month may be slackin' on the final touches. Meh...

Hey all - I am finally able to upload the finished version of my May FArt entry! Man, I wish this could of been presented like this for the actual contest - would of saved some serious heartburn!

I wanted to show the rough pencils I originally had to go with and quickly color for my submission along with a cleaned-up version. The cleaner version still retains some of its sketchiness and grainy quality which I liked on this one, but definitely not as smudgy looking and I tweaked a few things, like Electrikill’s helmet, in the final pencil drawing.

The original entry showcased the “Art Whores” of CoX - Thor’s Assassin, Thornster, and Feral Kat. The primary figure was my character Electrikill. The quickly darkened piece was intentionally done to block out another figure that was being implicated, but I didn’t think it was worth commenting on previously as I thought it was pretty obviously blackened out. The other figure (well his boot costume pieces) can be more clearly seen now as simply my other character Fire-Baller (a fire melee/regen scrapper), which I feel more comfortable commenting on now since you can actually see something there. As previously mentioned in the original entry, I wanted a piece that highlighted my characters with the “Art Whores” of CoX – I think this achieves that and over-all I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

It's that's a good villain ^^

Very cool...

And for the record, I think you would have been fine submitting without the colors (rushed or not) as the piece looks pretty darn solid in black and white.

That turned out FANTASTIC JKat!!!! And I agree with Caemgen, it looks great as a black and white! But the final piece is just.....

Just to be clear... I liked the colors. It just seemed you felt they were rushed. I didn't mean at all that you'd have been better off without them, just that (IMO) b&w is cool as well.

Out of curiosity, would there be interest in seeing stages of development on pieces like I have been doing for the FArt contest or other works? I know some here do Livestream and such and while I sort of like watching those, I don't really think that is something I want to do at this time. However, showing "stages of development" may be of interest for some and I would be cool with doing that too.

On a side note, I am putting probably more time then I should be for this month's FArt and I hope to hit the deadline, but with that said I doubt I will be hitting your deadline time for your contest TA. So, if I don't make it for the contest I still hope to crank something out for you down the road with your new costume in mind.

Don't know about the rest, but I really enjoy seeing pieces as they progress and adapt.

I enjoy seeing these too. My time zone doesn't usually work for livestreaming.

GeI've enoyed all the livestreams I've been able to make but due to my crappy work hours I'm probably more on Airheads schedule than normal peoples... . Alas, I can't make most of them...

But I'm with everyone else, I love seeing wips and stages and so on!!
