Katana/x is very powerful at low levels
You are a self proclaimed altaholic. Maybe there will come that time.
As for my personal experience - I have played my kat regen for 2000+ hours and still having fun with the experience.
many lower mobs are weak to lethal if i remember correctly, this reverses late game and it becomes the most widely resisted damage type.

True, but then you slot achilles heel in GC (and if you're rich, the pvp one in FS) and go to town, or just gut them with SD & GD while enjoying capped lethal/melee defense. Katana is teh sex... lol.

So it take a bit longer to kill things, the fact you are never getting hit and when you do you have 51% resist and 400%+ constant regen might get slightly boring. Oh well guess I will actually level one to 50 and find out
I just checked, pretty much all Scrapper attacks are Lethal or Smashing, even some of fire's. I dont think Katana is overly gimped because of that.

I Just bought 2 Achilles for 1 mil a piece, one level 12 and one 13. I then relaized with Hasten GC fires off every 2 seconds so having it in FS also seems pointless. ( I know it doesn't stack, for extending the proc ).

The AH proc is usefull vs big targets like ebs and av's (actually it's very useful...). Against everything else like minions and lt's, not so much. I wouldn't bother with them until later levels (if you're gonna solo av's, I'd consider an AH proc in GC almost a 'must have'). And yeah, you'll be spamming gc, so if and when you do slot the proc, you really only need it in gc (but the PVP proc does stack with the AH proc, from what I've heard...).

Right. I see plenty of Scrappers at level 50 who seem quite happy despite being sword, spines, or claws.

It's not so much that battling robots and other lethal resistant mobs pains me when playing my Kat or DB scrappers, but I get a lot, lot happier cutting into some meaty, non-resistant flesh.
An Offensive Guide to Ice Melee
There's no question that Katana provides a significant amount of mitigation in addition to a strong selection of ST and AoE damage, making it a very effective and well-rounded set. In some ways it is more noticeable at lower levels when stacked DA tends to overshadow your secondary altogether. You mention having experience with the other scrapper sets though, so I would have thought you would expect this if you've played BS.
My Kat/WP scrapper is my favorite character with around 1000 hours played (waaaay more than any other character I have). It works very well, but I don't think it pushes beyond the upper boundaries of several other scrapper combinations. Like other high level scrappers, typical solo situations will become boring due to a complete lack of challenge, but there are plenty of ways to push yourself and keep the experience enjoyable.

Fixed for my amusement.
I hit level 43 recently on my Katana/WP, and it's quite true in most circumstances about how you're basically invincible to everything. I don't mind it, though. Having played a Dominator for so long, being able to mindlessly murder things is great. There's still some mobs out there that will give you grief, especially anything that zaps your Endurance.
Indeed.
Much like any good altaholic I have played pretty much every scrapper combo up to 20 . The only primary I have not tried was Katana so I thought I would give it a whirl. The first 7 levels were just about par for scrapper leveling, I did notice with Gamblers Cut and Flashing Steel I was getting a nicely timed 1 -2 sword rotation going.
At 8 I got Divine Avalanche, holy crap! DE>GC>FS>DE>GC>DE>FS is insane at level 8, I was jumping into the middle of 10 Skulz in PP and all I could see was avoided avoided avoided avoided. I also noticed that I was avoiding the Gunners as long as I was in melee range of them. This is going to get very powerfull once I get all the Def and Regen slotted in WP.
My main question is, will this get boring later because it is to good?
