Hi! Im new to the game and im looking for the best build for a solo player. Im not really picky on either my primary or secoundary as ill make a charater around what i pick. As i work full time and play games when i get a chance im looking for a build that will allow me to experience the most the game has to offer solo. I thank you in advance for any advice you may have.

I typically find that the fastest leveling solo builds for me are the ones I can get a concept I like combined with the right knowledge.

For Mastermind I went Necro/Dark. It's been COV on easy mode so far. However, GoTo binds are a must for this class IMO.

MM's starting out might be a little tricky. Until you know more about aggro and spawn mechanics.

I'd suggest rolling up a few combos from different AT's, level up to 2 or 4 right quick street sweeping around the zone in spot. (not the tutorial)

Then you'll have a better feel for what you like and would end up playing the most.
Once your set on some ideas, everyone here can help you tweak it out for best performance.

You'll be slow and boring according to most forum-goers, but you will be able to solo anything. The melee pets are better if you strictly solo and a fairly single target secondary would go well with it. (necro/psn is fun and powerful solo)

If you like Bots/FF, you will do fine and squeeze all you can out of the forcefields in support of your bots and your team.

Triumphant Defenders Forever
Psylenz FF/Psi, ArticQuark Storm/Rad, Symon BarSisyphus Bots/psn, Max VanSydow Thugs/Dk, Cyclone Symon Bots/stm, Blue Loki Ice/Cd, Widow 46526
HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.

Virtually any Mastermind will solo very well. Everything else is just details and style.

Masterminds are a bit tricky, but rewarding to learn. I'd actually recommend them to a new player with patience.

The first character I took to a high level, and eventually to 50, was a Thugs/Poison. Thugs are very straightforward - there's no tricky abilities to get used to, just damage, damage and more damage - and /Poison is a very active secondary.

I'm playing a Bots/FF at the moment. Insanely survivable, but not exactly action packed. I'm pretty sure it's Bots/FF that led to the stereotype of Masterminds who just stand around and watch their pets kill stuff, because that's pretty much what you do.

Bot/FF can be extremely boring, yes. You can make things a little more interesting if you take the Presence pool and pick up challenge and/or provoke, to drag everything onto you while your pets shoot them. The main problem (that leads to boredom, at any rate) with /FF is that it's generally a very passive secondary. You bubble up, buff your pets, and wait. Occasionally force bolt something around. There aren't any debuffs, which means your pets are somewhat slower to kill than other secondaries, as well.

It's very, VERY survivable, but can be dull.
