PVPing in RV (with heavies)
Heavies and NPC's in pvp are RIDICULOUSLY OVERPOWERED. Last night in RV I died over 5 times being held by the AOE hero heavy hold. Being an unhidden stalker with 8 heroes running amuck got me killed everytime I was hit with the hold, upwards of 10 seconds. The Villain Heavy Hold isnt as bad as it is not AoE, but it has gotten me killed PLENTY of times on my blaster.
Oh, and longbow warden Illusion Control or Energy Melee will keep you mezzed literally forever. I was hit with Barrage by a Warden and was held for over 20 seconds.
This is just STUPIDLY overpowered. Just TAKE THE HOLDS OUT OF THE HEAVIES ARSENAL!!! Seriously, take the holds away from the Heavy powerset. That is alot easier than reworking all npc powers in PVP zones.
If you think the hero heavy hold is bad, you obviously haven't been hit by a Tarantula/Mu stun. At least there can only be a maximum of 3 heavies in the zone at any time, NPCs are pretty everywhere. They could do away with all the NPCs for all I care, it's not like they serve a purpose other than to make the experience of those few who still PvP even more unpleasant.
If the devs actually ever PvPed they might know what it is we have been complaining about.
But they don't, so they won't.
I think the worst part is, NPC mezes and stuff do not follow the same rules as pvp mezes.
1st, they have no suppression, therefore if the heavy is in the right position, they can chain hold a brute. I have been chain held before, when I went to attack a tanker. The heavy immediately used his hold first, and the tank was afk so he didn't realize I wasn't able to move for near 5 minutes.
2nd, and this may or may not be true... but since these are PvP specific changes, the Mez Resist you get is for Player mezes, and does not work on NPC mezes. So possibly, not only is your mez protection 0, but your resistance vs npc mezes is also 0.

Yea, I don't have a "huge" problem with having a large "build up" of NPC "Faction Base Defenders" near each Villain or Hero Base (so the closer you get the more NPC's you have to deal with...to somewhat help prevent too much spawn camping). What I [u]DO[u] despise is all those NPC's they have located in the "central" and "outter" PvP areas. Those are simply just NOT NECCESSARY AT ALL.
The central areas of the pvp zones should be pretty much 100% clear of all NPC's, allowing players to duke it out more freely without any interruption from sto0pid A.I. hax. The closest any Longbow NPC should be City Hall is just past the first Pill Box by the Hero Base towards the Train Station, and NO CLOSER. The closest any Arachnos Soldier should be to City Hall is the first Pill Box directly in front of and by the Villain Base, and NO CLOSER.
The rest of the zone, besides Pill Boxes and Heavies naturally, should be 100% clear of ALL NPC's. It would make zone fighting alot more fun for players if it were this way. The NPC's as they are right now, add nothing but aggrivation to all players...

[/ QUOTE ]That's because even the npc's know mez resist sux. It sux bottom line is mez protect atleast made sence. I have a set amount of protection, if it's surpassed I'm held. Some ppl whined about doms holds lasting to long blah blah, come with a emp, use bf's, i can even see them making bf's last longer so you wouldn't need a buffer even making mez suppression kick in sooner. But mez resist is a bad idea, i see it, the heavies see it, and the npc's see it.

Ive been playing a MM a little recently and those npcs annoy me more than ever now.
I'd like as little nonplayer involvement as possible. No npcs and no heavies.

You take out the Farmers from RV, and the zone is as dead as Sirens or Bloody Bay (on most servers).

yea things get a bit off topic some times..i dont want anything removed just saying to change the holds on heavies
Ok so i took my brute into rv after many other toons but the hero heavies still held me forever. So i think i figured out why...the heavies holds are still mag 2 -hold protect. If my hold protect is 0 now in pvp 0 minus -2 =-2. I was always good at math But my point being shouldn't the heavies have -hold res? Even if you can get a few mag hold protect chances are you are still going to get hit by it. Granted the heavy couldnt kill me alone but it plus the hero hasa big window in order to do it, since the holds last that long. And in case anyone is wondering my Brute is mostly SOs yes but 53.66% hold res in pvp zone. So nerf heavy holds or change their power? Let the comments roll in
