Hollowed Light (holy themed RPSG)...

Hallowed Light, a holy themed RPSG is seeking Angels, paladins, clerics of good and others who seek to cleanse evil from the world. The SG isn't set around any religion. In fact, Kade Perryn (although the character name was put as Chkt'Chka when I made the character since he was originally intended to be an insectoid pyro) isn't religious, he just makes it a goal to hunt unholies (Daemons, vampires, lycans, undead, etc).
Thats pretty much it <_<

Good luck with that! And I'm not being in the least bit facetious. But I simply refuse to believe that you haven't noticed, that this game is chock full of every sort of atheist, agnostic, outright satanist, and any other stripe of naysayer you care to shake a bible at. So many so called heroes have 'Dark' origins that it's a wonder their not all fighting the gang members and CoT for the right to cut out civilian hearts themselves. Anything, and I do mean absolutely anything in this game that carries even the faintest whiff of sanctity is almost by it's very nature doomed to a very meager following. But by all means go ahead and give it the old college try.

Someone was advertising a Christian SG the other day. I tried to join, but the guy never returned my message.

I saw that. But I'm already a member of an SG, so I told them that I wouldn't join unless I wanted to quit my SG for some reason. They were pretty nice about it.

Sorry. Off topic.

I have a hard time playing alts with any sort of regularity, but I'd enjoy this group's theme. As Bruthaman said, groups like this aren't very common - strange as that is in a superhero game. If you don't mind a casual member send me a global tell at @ThePaladin.

I don't find it strange on an RP server. Most pen and paper players I know are part of some alternative lifestyle setup, and that's often either accompanied by its own dogma and/or leads to negative experiences with religious people. I know a whole two pen and paper players who are practicing Roman Catholics. Assuming most online RPers come from similar backgrounds, it should make for a comparable statistic.

Conversely, there is an element of scrutiny when playing something related to a major religion. ie. if your character inspired by a major religion is perceived to be satirical or just wrongly portrayed, you should be prepared to take some flack from religious players who feel offended sooner or later. Funnily enough, this is totally okay where fringe religions are concerned. Just look at Marvel pissing all over the norse pantheon in spite of there being a small but healthy following of that belief.

Just saying. There are reasons why there are far more 'alternative lifestyle' Bluesiders than there are 'religuously conservative' ones.

You gotta understand though, It's RP. I'm heavily agnostic, but I play a very religious Character who believes in God with his every fiber and his every being.

Why can't others do the same?

I'm curious to see your group's dogma.

Meh, I'm still a wildly conservative religious sort and play lots of RPGs.

I may be a Roman Catholic, but that doesn't stop me from doing VLARP on the handful of occasions I lack the personal inhibitions, good taste, and sanity that usually keep me from it.

As for why there is such a proliferation of 'Darkness' on the Blue, as well as the Red side of things?

Totally aside from the subtle interventions of Infernal Inc.'s upper (or perhaps lower) echelons. Well... you see, the very same players who don't subscribe to the Judeo/Christian take on everything we can't perceive directly, also necessarily, don't subscribe to their particular beastiairy.

That, and 'Bad Guys' interactions are just inherently fraught with dramatic potential. This means that unless you're particularly creative or willing to exercize, the 'Bad Guy' is gonna get all the good lines, while the 'Good Guy' winds up looking like a Pollyanna (or if that reference is too esoteric for you substitute Carebear )

Sounds good. I'm currently trying to recruit right now. I've got one member thus far.

So "unholies" are daemons, (demons, devils, deevils), vampires, lycans (werewolves and other werebeasts), and (other) undead?

Who else is on the list?

Evil mages (witches) is about all I can think of right now, except the above.
