Getting in on a Strike Force
I've had great success planning strike forces and such on the boards. Just set a date and time, and take sign-ups.
Maybe you could pitch the SF as a good Saturday Matinee idea, too.
If I can't get it done Monday with my VG I'll try that but like I said, I have never run this SF and don't want to be the leader.
The earliest Saturday I could do it would be June 13th so I have time to organize or whatever.
I'm not very familiar with the Saturday Matinee process though. I guess I haven't really participated much in this forum, a fact I'm not particularly proud of but it always seemed a bit like going to the Monty Python Camelot - a bit silly
What time were you thinking of running Monday? Since it's a holiday, I might even be able to help!

Doesn't mean you still can't organize something. You could do as Text suggested and take sign-ups here on the boards. Then once you're in-game and have gotten everyone invited, toss the star to someone who is more experienced with that particular SF (and mention that you'd prefer to toss the star to someone more experienced in your sign-up thread).

It's super easy! Darkbridger is currently the one who usually organizes them. He selects a TF/SF and posts an announcement here on the Justice boards. People then post in the thread to sign-up and indicate what character they'll be bringing. They're held every Saturday with a 12:45 pm Eastern gathering time and a 1pm Eastern start time. DB does takes special requests...so if you'd like to see a particular TF/ST for a given weekend, you can shoot him a PM to request it.
The first strike force I ran was the Cap Strike Force. I didn't know anyone on the server. I had never run a strike force. So I went to the wiki and read up on it, came up with a plan, figured out when I wanted to run it, and posted all of that information on the boards. People signed up anyway, because I was willing to lead, had a plan, and was upfront up not having run it before.
I did that for every strike force thereafter. Now, I am a strike force machine.
I understand not wanting to lead a team, especially if you've never done it before. I just have such a positive experience doing so, feeling empowered to do what I wanted whenever I wanted, meeting so many swell people and thus gaining a group to run impromtu SFs with, and establishing myself within the community, well, I can't help but want to recommend it as an option to others.
(Plus, posting that here won't result in Manoa poisoning my coffee the way "Well, roll an alt and come run with me on Infinity!" might. )

Personally, I like watching people recruit for SF/TFs and then keep the star. It's nice to see other people take the lead and learn the ropes for getting a team together and successfully finishing a TF.
Passing the star to someone more experienced is OK, but keeping it and learning new skills on leadership etc. is better, imo.
I've always been the leader on our SG TF's hero-side and I had never run any of those either. I planeed on being the leader for the VG as well... But everyone in both groups are just as new as I am so no chance of judgements being made.
I'm not totally averse to having the star, and I have already read up on the SF in the wiki, but if someone more experienced wanted to lead and show me the "right" way to do it I'm all for it.
And some prime members already have plans for Monday so another VG activity shot down I'll start trying to organize something here as soon as I know what my wife has planned for me Monday so I can pin down some time ranges. If not I'll suggest it as a Saturday Matinee.
Thanks all!
I would love to run my fire dominator (17th level) through the Virgil Tarikoss Strike Force - mostly as a rp thing.
I can't seem to get enough people in my little VG together at the same time to get one started. I'd just do a broadcast but I've never run that (or any) SF before and so I don't really want to lead it.
What's the best way to get in on one? The Justice For All channel? In all the time I've been in Cap I've never seen a call for the SF over general broadcast.
I'm going to try one more time to get my VG organized for a run on Monday but frankly I don't have high hopes.
