6150SE is pretty far back. I wouldnt recommend anything below a 76xx for this game as a min.

You should update your video drivers. You can find the newest ones here. Also, see the "Before You Post, Common Solutions" thread for instructions on driver cleaing and installation.

The 6150 is a very low end chip. Looking at your game settings I recommend disabling Depth of Field (which is a big GPU drag), lowering Particles to 10K and drop the general shader setting down a notch or two.

You can display framerate by using the /showfps 1 command (/showfps 0 turns it off). It is displayed along the top of the screen, right of center.

If you are playing CoV, you may also want to drop the World Detail setting which reduces the distance you see objects. CoV zones are considerably more "cluttered" than the majority of CoH zones.

FatherXmas's recommendations for settings should help a bit. Now, let's check the rest of your computer...

Please post the result of this program:

<ul type="square">[*]HijackThis - it will show us what's running on your computer concurrently with CoH. Click on "Do a system Scan and save a logfile." It will automatically open up Notepad and put the info there. Make sure Wordwrap is off in Notepad (Format &gt; Wordwrap unchecked) before you cut and paste here.

Try enabling VSync.

That's specifically to address your "background looks like its trying to catch up" issue.

Your 6150 is "old", yes, but can still technically do the job. You're just going to have to turn some settings down, and use things like "suppress extra player FX" and "suppress FX when close". I wouldn't push your draw distance sliders all the way up either. You're not gonna see everything like someone with a newer card will, but it will be adequate to play the game, relatively smoothly.

I'm done Hamidon raids, and herded large chunks(not the whole room, but a lot of it) on the Eden Trial on a 5700 before. If you've got the CPU and system memory to help that GPU keep up overall, you should be able to get by.

SE.. those the little tiny ones that share system memory? Assuming you run XP and have the maximum 2 gigs installed, giving 512 to the card, and leaving 1536 for windows is about as good as you can balance it, to get performance out of that video card.

Great advice ppl, thanks for all the help, it really looks better now, and the back ground now keeps up when I turn around, I guess I will have to upgrade this old thing again, lol. Thanks again for all the advice....cya in game! ! !

It looks like that motherboard has a PCIEx16 slot, so you have a ton of options for upgrading if you decide to do so.

This card would be a good middle-of-the-road card, that will run the game very well. The price is also great.

Here's something beefier, that'll let you crank up the settings. I have an older, slightly weaker version of this card (8800GTS) and it lets me pretty much max out everything at 1680x1050 and maintain a good framerate. If CoH is pretty much the only game you play, I'd wager this'll be the most powerful card you'll need.

Happy hunting!
