What do you guys specialize in when going for set IOs. I had an elec brute a while back but deleted him to make space for other stuff before we could buy toon slots. I am going to remake this guy for issue 15 and I wanted to get some advice on IOs.

Bump and Grind Bane/SoA
Kenja No Ishi Earth/Empathy Controller
Legendary Sannin Ninja/Pain Mastermind
Entoxicated Ninja/PSN Mastermind
Ninja Ryukenden Kat/WP Scrapper
Hellish Thoughts Fire/PSI Dominator

Thank You Devs for Merits!!!!

I would go with something like recharge or resistance or something like that, I don't have much experience w/ elec but when I do play them I try to drain their end as fast as possible, and more resistance means more time to do that.

Dont do it man, /elecs not worth it, roll /shield, pick the electric shield from the elemental shields, give yourself a nice electric aura and you are ready to go looking like an elec but with a much better set

If I ever get back to playing my DM/Elec again (current enamored with my Claws/SR), I've got a build for him that gives high 20s in all positional defense, without gimping anything else. I think it'll be effective, but I'm not totally sure.

It depends on your primary, Evil. I'm going to assume you're Ele/Ele? Since Electric Melee is considered the AoE Brute set, the Obliteration set will be your best friend. That translates into 3.75% melee defense per power if you can manage the slots. Jacob's Ladder, Thunderstrike, LR, and Lightning Field = 15% melee defense, right there.

You could throw the Placate proc from Fortunata Hypnosis (Sleep) into Charged Brawl for lulz. Also, with the Electric sets, you can easily sap large groups of enemies at once. I'd throw Performance Shifter into PSink and go for Hasten/SS as your travel power. Up to you though. It's painfully amusing to see SJers with Grounded and no Acrobatics to keep themselves from being knocked on their butts whenever they hop a foot off the ground :P

you can also add to that the kinetic combat set in the single melee for another 3.8 to s/l and 1.88 to melee

I built my /elec brute for def and I have 38% defense to melee ( add to that the -tohit from darkest night and I get to the soft cap.)
