i just started a elec/fire build, i made it to lvl 9 and i've died around 20 times. I'm not even kidding. Is this build going to get any better, or should i just delete him?

fire is a litte squishy and as its a resistence set it benefits from a primary with large mitigation abilities. electic melee doesnt have much in the way mitigation, thunderstrike is a long animation for a very small area of KB, lightning clap is annoying and insulting for a lvl 26 power and lightning rod is on a very long timer. Stone melee would do better with fire (I have a SM/Fire myself) as its mitigation abilities are second to none and has awesome damage as well.

Elec goes best with sheild IMO

I took one of these to 50 and he did stay fairly squishy all the way. I still enjoyed the ride a lot though. Take healing flames early and slot it heavily, it will keep you alive.

It does get a lot better as you go and I would suggest getting the fighting pool in your 20's. I saw a vast improvement at that point.

I took 1 of these to 50 as well. I suggest Fighting pool and then go for IO set bonuses of +HP, +recharge, +recovery and if you can, try to get some +def. Even a little bit of defense can make a difference.

I'd actually go for +Defense before anything elso IO wise. After they added powers to the Patron Pools I switched over to GW and took Darkest Night. I saw a large leap in my DM/FAs survivability. This prompted me to further enhance his defensive #'s. With 25% to Melee and Ranged types I feel a whole lot beefier. Layered defense (Resistance, Defense & Heal) is truly (in my opinion) the best way to go.
