Erroneous characters in Password

There has been a text bug rampant since i14 went live. errant keystrokes will often appear when one starts a new line of text. (I most often see extra numbers appearing in text after using the market).
More troublesome is they'll appear under my password, and get an invalid password message as erroneous text (appearing as extra asterisks) appeared.
Worst yet: sometimes these erroneous text cannot be deleted! I get stuck unable to login, because of a lone asterisk that doesn't delete (the cursor skips it and appears to its left instead of deleting). I have to quit out and restart CoX to remove this errant asterisk.
I assume a more than a few of you get the errant text bug, but have any of you get locked out of login due to the phantom password asterisk?

I've had that happen as well. I had to highlight and delete the "asterisk". Pressing backspace or delete alone didn't get rid of it.

I get this error as well when switching accounts. Most often then not it is 10 to 12 characters entered into my password box which only does so after I start typing my password in.

Getting this intermittently also, on the same account when switching characters.

Closing and restarting the program seems to clears it the fastest

But after deleting all that is clearable,
{by using the right arrow (-&gt, and (Backspace)ing to clear all you can, which leaves one asterisk (*)}
Highlighting and deleting clears it as mentioned above.
I also found another today;
Pressing the right arrow (-&gt followed by the (Backspace) button in quick succession about five times cleared the asterick(*)

It is rampant! and needs to be fixed! honestly there should be nothing that interfeers with how players communicate in game!

I would agree this should be a high priority fix. However, since it only happens intermittently, I suspect it's difficult to track down the cause.

[/ QUOTE ] Well it more than likely has to do with the "startchat bind bug" that they supposedly fixed, but still pops up now and then. whatever fix they did to try to fix it is still archiving the characters in the background and instead of appearing when the chat is started, they appear after chat is "sent". In this case, you don't know if you've been affected until you send your password and see more *s appear and get an incorrect password error. lol

I find that putting my cursor into the Name field, and then pressing Tab to move to the Password field will highlight the entire PW, which I can then remove by pressing DEL, or I can just re-type my PW over it.

Any time the game decides to vomit cached keystrokes into my PW field, that's what I do, and it's worked every time. (Of course, now that I said that, it's gonna end up not working... >.&lt

Speak of the Devil. Tried it not long ago and still had a lone asterisk that would not delete(No matter how many times I'd highlight it). I had to quit out and restart. Only happened once so far. I'm hoping it doesn't again.
