Disallow broadcast inside AE buildings

Someone comes out of RWZ/VG (or Cim/Midnight) in CAD and saying "/b LGTF (or ITF), LFM" and I am in AE building saying "/b I'll join!".

Otherwise, it doesn't matter what we feel are nuggets for broadcast. It is there to broadcast messages.

OK, so obviously this is a very unpopular suggestion. I'll just move the broadcast channel to another tab, problem solved.

This, generally.

Yes, it can be done via /tell, but for some questions - well, if one person has it, others may as well, so you may as well broadcast back. (Or someone may remember it later when they need to know - like "Where's the tailor" or "How do I get a cape," preventing them from asking it.)

Thanks for the replies.

A point to ponder: you used to have to type in a character name to send a tell, which made replying to a question or a "TF LFM" request via broadcast considerably easier, especially when the broadcaster had a name like "xxXX'W00lv3rine.XXxx". But since you can now reply via tell by simply clicking on the broadcaster's name it's just as fast/easy to reply via a tell as via broadcast, and you'll be cutting down on zone noise if you retrain yourself to do it that way.

And before you reply saying "I'll answer in broadcast if I bloody well choose to!" keep in mind this is just a point to ponder, I'm well aware that you'll do as you wish.

EDIT: just to clarify, I'm really not trying to be snarky on this reply. I regularly team with a few vets who were unaware of this change to the chat window (or other changes like being able to copy/paste) until I mentioned it to them.

I'll point back to my prior reply. What I do depends on what's broadcast.

Some general-knowledge bit someone might ask (again, "How/when do I get a cape," "Where's the tailor," I'll rebroadcast a reply, since there may be others who'd want to know.

Others, where a /t in reply is more appropriate, get one.

yeah that was a funny question for a channel called BROADCAST.

Methinks some don't get the meaning of words.

In addition, how could this be done? Really the only way they would be able to do this would be to move the interior of the building to another separate zone. That would kind of ruin the aesthetic quality of being able to actually see the zone you're in through the windows.

No thanks. If you don't want to listen to brioadcast you can always turn it off or go to another zone.

Remember, the broadcast channel is in zone only. If you are broadcasting in Atlas Park only people in Atlas Park can hear you.

You can always have your cat girl arguments and costume contests in Galaxy City if you want to. That zone could use some life.

And reminder to AE users, there is an AE building in every single zone except PvP and Hazard zones and special cases like Croatoa and Cimerora. You don't all have to gather in Atlas Park and Cap Au Diable.
