Elec/WP - Awesome? Or TOTALLY Awesome?
Neither. More like average. No wait TOTALLY average.
I lean towards the Totally Awesome myself. I've leveled two of them into the 40s ... the only other villain I've gotten past the 30s is a Bots/Dark MM.
There's not a whole heck of a lot that slows my Brute down solo.

You really need to look into some IO sets, they can make your build totally awesome. Right now it is just average. Hey and don't knock WM/EA, I have one and he kicks [censored]!
And yes I have him completely IO'ed.
i made a DB/WP brute when it came out cause "i want swords are so cool like a ninja samuri weaboo!!! >_> >.< <_<"
around lvl 35 i got annoyed with trying to kill..... anything... with pure lethal damage. but i loved fast heal and QR with health and stam.
made DM/WP... then i remembered what i hated about dark melee
then i went back to elec, saying to myself "last time i went elec i was new to the game, so maybe if i build him with a brain i wont hate life?"
I love it. charged brawl, havoc punch, jacobs ladder, and chain induction are my normal chain, but ive got lightning clap as a mob control in groups (only when wiping, because of knockback) and lightning rod as a boss PWNINATOR!
I'm currently playing a Elc/WP Brute, on my dedicated team on Monday nights.
Early levels felt weak, but then that has always been my problem with any Brute I've played. Being on a dedicated team helped me stick it out, and made the stay at those levels REALLY Brief.
After hitting level 20-22, it really felt like I was starting to dish it out and take it too. Currently level 26, and I really feel like a solid Brute, dishing out damage and taking it too.
I had End issues util I got Quick Recovery. THen I put a Performance Shifter +End into it, along with another 1-2 slots, and all was right again. I Added Stamina too, out of habit. Nothing will slow down my SMASH now.
Look into I/O sets, they really can help you, and all those little bonuses really add up.

"The tip of a shoelace is called an aglet, its true purpose is sinister." The Question
I got Thunder Strike last night. That made me go :O :O
I was like BOOM ON YOUR BUTTS MINIONS!
Yea, it was awesome.
not a big fan of TS, why does it take half a minute to jump?
You should consider dropping Strength of Will and Resurgence for Electrifying Fences and Ball Lightning. On my Elec/WP, I go through Lightning Rod-->Thunder Strike, and then I'm left staring at the mob, picking off single targets. The patron powers definitely help, as they hit multiple enemies reliably.

I'm not sure, but something about that power is extremely satisfying.
i would definately go Mu for the fences, they prevent KB so you can lightning clap without pissing the group off or killing your RttC. the stun is some crazy mitigation for the team, too.
i dont remember my build off the bat, ive got to get one of them hero creator thingymaboobs.
Eww. Lightning Clap. Get it away from me.
I Want Smash. Thunder Strike is Pure, Unadulterated ...

cept the year and a half before that
"beware, measly thugs, for i have started my ascent! yes, soon i will deliver a glorious blow that will decimate the likes of you all to a level never before seen by man kind! Quake in your boots while you witness my glory, for soon it shall bring hell upon you!!! Be afraid, mortals, for I have reached the apex of my fantastical leap, and have begun my decent! Yes, very soon now, your death is coming very soon, within mere seconds you shall feel the wrath of my brutish fists, only rivaled by the rapture! Ha, your deaths are almost upon you all!"
at this point, the mobs do the emote where they tap their foot.
Heh. You do have a point.
It's still awesome though.

"The tip of a shoelace is called an aglet, its true purpose is sinister." The Question
i like that its a KB to go with Air Sup early lvl, but i'd definately leave it with my 1st respec at 24. and this may be an ill founded opinion, but elec/wp isnt a good choice if you want smash, youve got SM/WP or elec/SD (or any primary rocking AaO) for that. i mean elec (en) dosent get the shaft like S/L/F but its no neg-en/psi/tox either, and i certainly didnt see fast heal, qr, rttc, hpt, MoB, hs, or indom and think it was smashers paradise.
but I like the way the 2 sets compliment each other. there isnt alot of resist to defense/res debuffs, so the sleeps help keep things from stacking. RttC + AoE makes sense. you need time to regen damage and the lowered attack rates of end drained EBs and such do just that. lastly that conmes right off the dome for me (havent slept) is that elec is a lil end piggy, qr and not being toggle heavy helps.
I didn't pick Electric because it was the 'best' SMASH set. I liked the Early AOE's primarily. I play on a set team of 7-8 players, and there are two other Brutes, so I really need to work it if I want some of that sweet sweet Fury.
The lack of a self heal was a weakness, but I decided to just keep working on maxxing HP's and Regen asap, and I slotted 3 Call of the Sandman Chance for +heal procs just for the added bonus HP's now and then. So far it's working well.

wait, so then why the "eww... lightning clap... i want smash" comment?
Hmm, Im liking my Elec brute too.. except Im using super reflexes as my second power set.. Figured it sorta fit with the lightning quick reflexes and all..

For the same reason I don't like Handclap in Super Strength - it doesn't do ANY damage. It might be cool to look at, but it's not particularly useful to me, when I can use a damaging attack instead.

Here is a build I came up with for a Solo Brute, Elec/WP.
Is it awesome? Or Totally awesome?
Actually got any suggestions for slotting / taking powers?
