Nooo! My computer!
what graphic card do you have?
did you look at the www.nvidia.com website? you should be able to download all the existing driver for your graphic card.
Nvidia Geforce 4 MX I believe, I'm not at my house right now, nor will I be until 6 pm.. Sucks not having a car.
I think I've done that, but I'll do it again.
hurry ... go home.. get it fixed...come play!! NAO!
When you get home,
Download the latest driver from : http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71_2.html
Then go in the control panel and completely uninstall the graphic drivers. control panel ---> system----> hardware ---> Device manager---> display driver.
Right-click on the graphic card and go to uninstall
Restart the computer and boot in safe mode ( press F8 a couple of time before you see the windows loading screen)
Then install the new driver you downloaded previously.
Reboot in normal windows and you should be good to go.
Yeeeeah. Nvidia Geforce 4 MX?
After the Graphics update a few issues ago, that card JUST BARELY meets minimum requirements. In fact, I think they may have even removed it from thier list of compatible hardware.
I'm guessing you have an AGP system (since I've never heard of a 4 MX in PCI-Express) I suggest an upgrade. go here and pick out a graphics card. EVEN THE LOWEST PRICED one in that list is better than the 4 MX.
Of course, this one is probably the best bang for the buck and it will even fit if you have a low profile case.
Trust me, skip a night or 2 of take-out or pizza for dinner and use that money to get a graphics card. You won't regret it!

Of course a new graphic card won't hurt... but you should still be able to run it with minimal settings.
I might have an older one that I'm not using (but that is better than yours) if you're interested.
I'll check and email you back if you're interested.

BA speaks truth, and tells you the things that the NC Soft tech Support people won't.
One other minor note- carefully read the box on the new card you buy for the minimum system requirements. Specifically, look at the power supply requirements. Many newer cards require beefier PSUs than what probably came stock in your PC.

one think you need to know is that most of the current AGP cards are actually PCI-E card with an AGP adaptor which makes the transfer a bit slower than a pure AGP card but the card itself is more powerfull so you probably won't notice it.
The power supply might need to be changed to make it run. Some of those cards even require a PCi-E power connector.
I don't think the 3450 should need a PCIe Power connector. It's the low-band of the 3000 Series. Even the 3650 only needs a 4 pin Molex connector and has minimal power requirements, so I expect the 3450 has even less. But I can't confirm that.... It seems Newegg is having trouble with their image servers on the products, so I can't see the board.

wasn't saying they do need one..just saying they "could" and to keep an eye out so he doesn't buy something he won't be able to use.

Wow, I didn't realize the selection of AGP cards had gotten so piss-poor. Agree with the recommendation, although I wish the NVIDIA equivalent was still around.
EDIT: It takes a Molex, just to clarify. He'd have to already have his system quite stretched, power-wise, for this to be an issue, I think.

AGP, the Ex-Girlfriend that still thinks there is a chance you'll get back together. Even though you've fallen in love with PCI-Express. It's still around, but you kinda wish it wasn't, but at least it makes your present one look so much better by comparision.

LOL
Let's hear it for obsolescence! It's too bad really- there are still a lot of people out there with perfectly... well, ok, more or less functional AGP machines, but the manufacturers are making fewer and fewer AGP card options.
Alas poor AGP, I knew him, Horatio. A fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy.

Hello Player's Name,
It looks like you card is failing. You will need to try a different video card.
Thanks,
Donovan

And also, my friend believes my card is fried..
Pingu thinks it's fried..
It must be...
Bacon.
And this isn't even good bacon.. It's vegetarian.

I discovered that I had one of them in a drawer with a bunch of other old expansion cards. It has a passive aluminum cooler on it. Yeah, old school.
Well atleast my Dell still runs CoX.
Funny.. I posted this on the tech forums and got 8 hits in 4 days.. And I just posted this today and I got 4 hits in under 5 minutes.

Yeah, you certainly squeezed, yanked, and choked ever last frame you could out of that card. It served ye well, time to give it a Soldiers' Burial with a 21 Pixel Salute.

bah i've been away from the tech forum after someone told me I didn't know what I was talking about just because I said the only way to 100% fix someones issue was to install XP.... The guy thought I was an anti-Vista fan boy and couldn't prove that the problem was with vista ( even thought I troubleshooted that problem for 4months with Support ... on Vista)
But what do I know about it .... LOL
glad I could help Gattaca ( if ever I did ...)

It's not like we have anything better to do, either.
=(
I was trying to get my GWs graphics working and it messed up CoX, so I thought I'd do a system restore. Turns out system restore turned itself off. So now I have one working MMO computer.. *Sigh* Anyone have any ideas? PlayNC Support has me jumping through hoops.. I would reinstall the right driver... If I could find it.. I know it's on there somewhere..
Right now I'm just really fustrated.
