I can do that, give me a sec and I'll have em posted..
That's a nice machine Black, good thing mah birthday is coming up and I hopefully got a job
give you a bit of an idea what were are looking for...
Moboimage is this image we want the ms-7528 and version number.
you can build a nice system for under 350.oo if you get a job and pull your B-day money together.
I am like BA, if a system can run why not use it. only time I had a slot go out on me was when I didnt change the tubing on a water cooled system, it leaked and well just not working now.

I agree- but having a second account rig doesn't do a lot of good if you don't have a first account rig. But, waste not, want not- especially when trying to economize. That's why I suggested cannibalizing what he could (case, psu, hard drive, CD drives) and replacing the essential guts (mobo, processor, memory and vidcard). Even still- I don't know if I could do it for less than the $200 starter you posted. Not a bad deal.

Ok now I know the issue with it working comes in play and remimber for the life of me .. do this work with the on board video card?
what is the bios version ... I also read that they really didnt have any bios updated for this at all so you might be on the newest version
Link all you would want to know about your mobo and them more

Holy DDR Memory, Batman!
I just found a whole site dedicated to nothing but eMachines and upgrading them.
Most of the information is pretty technical, and might be out of your league, Gattaca, but look around it and see if you might be able to do some of the upgrades listed.
They do have a BIOS update, but as i mentioned, it's a little techy to do, and you might not feel comfortable doing it.
But, look at it this way. This simple video card issue is giving you a crash course in PC repair. Alot of the best Computer Technicians start out this way. Something breaks, and they learn how to fix it, and they start to like it. But,like it or not, it's very useful to know your way around the inside of a PC, and not be so scared of it. So, kudos on learning a life skill.

Reach to the top of your head and grab a handfull of hair.. Pull hard and dont let go. That plusing rush is what I gather G is feeling.

Hey! Guess what I just found!
BFG 7800 GS OC AGP Card sitting in my old hardware bin.
Wanna see if it works in your Machine, Gat?
I can FedEx it to ya!

Sure why not? If it doesn't, I'll just ship it back
This thread seems unnecessarily complicated. Is the bios video setting even set correctly? Often times, the onboard video will kick in before the AGP if it's not specified. That might be the only problem here.
I'm also surprised you can't find an AGP card that doesn't require external power. I'm running an ASUS 4650 (PCI-e though) and doesn't require any type of external power.
Trust me Frost.
We've been through every simple step in the book.
We've been through most of the complex steps in the book too. (The ones we could walk Gattaca through at least)
He's had no less than 3 Professional IT Specialists cramming troubleshooting steps down his throat for weeks. There is a variable we aren't able to get around. Either the Slot/motherboard/BIOS or Card is bad. That is the only conclusion we could finally come up with.
Now, if Gattaca would only PM me his address I'd send him this other card I found, and that can help diagnose this even further.

remember that not everything was dealt with on the forum. There was a huge discussion about this online ( which is where we found the idea of the onboard card still being used after the external card was added)
At this point , yes the thread became complicated.. simply because the situation forced it to be. The short quick answer did not resolved the issue, so we have to look into more detail at other possibilities.
BA, did you get my PM?
I've stolen BA and your precious graphics card, locked them away at the top of a structure ridiculously made of ladders and platforms, and started throwing barrels down while occasionally beating my chest in triumph.
Whatchu gonna do now?
Get The Hammer!!!!!

No problem, Resident Evil 5 and friends have made me almost forget about it.
Just remember, treat your computer well, or suffer the consequences.

Eh, I could take it.
Update: Newegg should send a replacement today or tomorrow and BA's vid card hasn't arrived yet.
Seems mail doesn't flow through my town smoothly.
Final Update: I received the replacement video card today, I plugged it up and needless to say, I was psyched. Demon had his doubts. Plugged up and booted up and saw that big "E" I has two computers again!! Thanks for all thr help everyone, and I hope to see you in game!
LOL no not really.. I was more thinking about the bad card or bios update :P but like you I was unable to find a bios update for this...
Gattaca, can you open the case and look on the motherboard for a model number and manufacturer? should be maked directly on the board.
