Stalker question: willpower vs regeneration
Willpower has almost same regen, no dullpain. Willpower has crashless nuke that will net you about 50 S/L. Willpower has more resistance and def but willpower has another heal and MoG. Willpower has Perception and Repel resist.
I like Willpower for the perception.
Regen has Heal, DP, IH and MoG
WP has a Heal, +HP, decent S/L resistances, some useless defense, a tier9 that no one takes and +perc/repel resistance.
The question is, would you like to be unkillable, or would you like to be pretty hard to kill and also have some utility?
with the new pvp sets the perception issue is null. you don't really have to take fitness on a regen. i have one with only one of the three recovery uniques + a few pvp sets and i find that i can scrap it out fiteclub style if i want with very very few end issues. still, that's definitely not the way to play a stalker and unless i have a kin draining me (happens) or a therm trowing heat ex on me (happens), there's not much to worry about on a regen.
mog is also amazing. the repel resists are way more viable in zone than in the arena though, as repel in zones is fairly circumstancial.
oh and DP as a 900 pt heal is pretty damn amazing.
also, what i meant is that any respectable stalker forsakes fitness for leadership on every build. be it wp, regen or ea.
Thanks for the input.
I think I've opted to go for Regen and have come up with a build.

without candy coating it:
that build is pretty terrible.
1. you want assault and tactics.
2. your damage bonus is 7%. you want at the very least 30% for a live build. figure out how to get to that.
3. throw spines is garbage.
4. resilience is trash.
5. spirit shark is trash. really not worth the animation time. dark blast + shadow meld are 20 times better for a regen.
6. yeah.. rebuild this thing. it's pretty bad.
So shark is really useless now?
I wouldn't say it's useless, but Shadow Meld is a pretty awesome power for a Stalker and that gives you Dark Blast, which does half the damage of Spirit Shark for 1/3 the animation time.

Why is shadow meld so good? Isn't it just defense? Defense barely seems to even have any effect anymore, from what I've seen.
It's a lot of defense, which is useful for setting up those tough-to-get AS's, and the recharge isn't terribly long.

For a /regen, I'd probably go with Shadow Meld. Alternating MoG/SM is beautiful when you do it right.
"the reason there are so many sarcastic pvpers is we already had a better version of pvp taken away from us to appease bad players. Back then we chuckled at how bad players came here and whined. thanks for the input.
if i were to take powers from leadership, that would mean that i'd need to drop another pool. i was considering dropping fitness, but i'm not quite sure how bad stalkers suck end.
also, anyone know how effective soul storm is for stalkers. from what i've read stalkers can crit against held enemy players. is this true?
i know that soul storm has a rather lengthy animation time so i'm wondering if the power is even worth it to begin with.
I'm torn on the regen/ wp issue i just made a wp for kicks and i have noticed it's useless in sirens, because you can't fit in everything you need with out sacrificing something else. Basically robbing peter to pay Paul lol. Also in the rv lvls i kinda like hibernoob personally a tad more than shadow meld on a regen, it's saved me so many times from bad situations.
But imo, regen for zone use and wp for arena no contest, i just think of those villian ladder matches facing those storm MM's and the huddle that they use. I use to run a em/nin and they would use the MM's like bases and conduct strikes from the MM's position, very effective stuff use properly. And all those targets of opportunity in your sites you can't get to because of the repel from bubblers and stormies
The funny thing is, even though you seem like one of the whiners that got the changes made in the first place, you're probably still bad..------Macskull on Crop_of_shaolin

You don't need Hibernoob. You have to pick up stealth no matter what, might as well go the extra mile and grab Phase (it is still a good getaway power, especially on a stalker). Having both Hibernoob and Phase is pointless.
The good thing about Regen is that you always have a clickie to fall back on when things go south. With WP, if the heal is down, you better pray Phase isn't.

New build below if anyone has the time to critique.
Picked up Assault/Tactics to give me a damage boost and to hit bonus and had to drop fitness. From what I've heard Regens aren't too heavy on end. To counter any endurance issues I picked up set bonuses that boost end recovery whenever possible. I believe this build is at 22.5% end recovery with set bonuses.
Dropped Resilience/Throw Spines/Mako pool and picked up Ripper/Shadow Meld/Dark Blast
Haven't quite figured out how to deal with a damage boost to the build. Still at 7%. Any suggestions?

Ok, I respecced my EM/regen into shadow meld.....can't believe how fast it recharges compared to MoG....considering they're basically the same thing.
What would you guys suggest for a /nin stalker? Right now I have the shark still. Shadow meld seems kind of redundant for nin.

Well? Anybody?
If you didn't build for Defense (since not many do anymore) then Shadow Meld can be used quite effectively. If you did, not so much.

I didn't build for anything hehe. I play with SO's
That's the way to do it. If you can be successful with just SO's, you know you're doing something right. In that case, Shadow Meld can work just fine for you.

Just throwin this out there Barb Swipe does better than lunge in pvp its also funner.
Flurry!>Ripper
i repec'd my spine and put flurry instead of ripper, though it has long animation it shreds enemies
Aight thx Rei, I'm gonna respec.
And yeah, I know the amazing power of barb swipe. Man, if someone had told me a year ago that barb swipe and impale would be the 2 strongest attacks in the spines set, I would have laughed in their face
I got a question does flurry crit from hide? I would guess so but haven't picked it up on my stalker yet to test.

was wondering the same thing.
I have next to no knowledge of stalkers, much less decent power sets for a pvping stalker. I'm pretty set on selecting spines as a primary but am stumped in deciding between willpower or regen.
Can anyone give me info on either set?
