I would like to see a chance to earn these enhancements upon being defeated by another player (Say about half the chance of getting one if you defeat another player). It would encourage a mentality of "It doesn't matter if you win and lose, as long as you play the game". It would encourage players who are new to the system ("Oh geez I got my butt kicked but I got this great enhacnement that dropped so now I can slot this and do better next time!") and generally encourage people to finish fights to the bitter end instead of the hit and run tactics.

This is actually a really good idea. You might even increase participation in PvP with something like this.

I also agree, it's an excellent idea.

It's a wonderful idea that could work effectively and also encourage fights, duels and PvP matches to be carried out even if the end is rather nasty.

Plus it'll bring in even more of a crowd.

It might also create a class of "victim" PvP'ers that just go to die on the off chance they will get a recipe. Go to zone, die, rez, and go back without ever fighting back at all. Repeat ad nauseum.

Such a system will also benefit arena AFK farmers.

If such a system were implemented, I would expect that the chance of a drop would be much higher for the winner than for the loser. (the suggested 50% might be enough, not sure.) An incentive should promote action, not just standing and dying.

this is a good idea, but........

it will never happen. and if it does, i want a chance to get some type of drop/reward when i die in a pve instance too. heck, while we're at it, i think we should get a chance at a pvp IO just for zoning into a pvp instance.

The validity of your statment does not increase in direct proportion with the frequency and volume at which you speak it.
