How do you alter level ranges of mobs?

I wanted to include some goldbrickers and things normally high level on the same map. But it seems I can't do this because goldbrickers cap out at level 20. I read somewhere that you can have things such as goldbrickers scale up in level but I can't find that now or how to do it.

Anyone?

Can't be done. Groups with no overlap between them can't be used in the same mission, and you can't "scale them up" in the manner described.

What I did when I wanted Outcasts was I made my own Outcasts in the critter editor. Goldbrickers are a tougher bunch since they have those guns and jetpacks; maybe take the other group you want and remake it for lowbie romping with real Goldbrickers?

Custom mobs always range from level 1 all the way up to level 54. The *only* way to restrict their level range is to place mobs or other NPCs in the mission that are restricted to certain level ranges.

True that.

Creating low level Arcs can be extremely tricky if you use Custom Critters.

I would suggest sticking with the lowbie enemy groups for low level content.

It can be done with custom Critters, but you would have to include an Escort, Captive, Rescue type Detail to factor your Created Critters back down to the level range you want.

You would need to set the "Rescued Person" from an existing group in the level range you are seeking to maintain. By doing this, you limit your Custom Critters.

Another way is to use a Low level group as the Main Group for the Mission, and add your Custom Critters through Battles and Patrols.

Just my take on it.

Black-Strike: lvl 50 AR/Dark Corruptor
Brutally Beautiful: lvl 50 BA/Inv Brute
Seared Earth: lvl 50 EC/EA Dominator
Yashi Onuku: lvl 50 Ninja Blade/Ninjitsu Stalker
Death-Widow: lvl 50 Night Widow

Ambushes, patrols, and anything else works also.

You can also create a patrol of the level range you want, set to be created when the final mission requirement is done (Boss defeated, clue found, etc.). It sets the mission level, but the players will never see it unless they go back through the map looking. The best part of course is you can use a completely custom group, and set it for any level, just by using a particular regular group for the patrol.

Ok so, I've been trying to figure out how to tweak my mob levels also, and I can see from above that it seems to be an art in trickery as things stand and there's already an EB bug, heh.

I hope you don't mind me adding my similar conundrum here, as it seems to fall under the same category.

I have a mission that I put a lot of work into (diaogue etc) and that I laid out originally as Lost (level 5-30 if I recall correctly), and ran some tests with my 50 on relentless and when the spawns came out as 50 I quickly ralized there were no Lost--I had accidentally replaced them with my custom group. Clickety-fix!

Now the mission spawned at 30, because the lost were the main group with my custom as patrol boss etc. I wasn't satisfied with this and since my group is aimed at mid to high level play I replaced the pertinent story material (a fair amount of work, especially when figuring it out the first time) and changed the main spawns to Freakshow (level 20-54 or whatnot).

Lo and behold the mission spawned now at level 26... Now try as I may, it's set to 22-26 or someting like that and I've tweaked all the things I could think of that might affect it. Below the mission one icon is states it's level 22-26 and I can't figure out why, nor am I able to figure out how to change it other than starting clean over.... Ngahh!

If there's any more insight anyone has as to how to tweak this, I'm staying tuned.

Do you have any hostages/allies in the mission? They will also set the mission level, so if you have one that is only available for levels 22-26, the mission will only be available for those levels.
