Ok so I recently got a name i've been wanting for awhile, Foxman, but now i'm having costume block.

Here is what I have so far:

The Foxman

I know it's not great, so I need some help from you awesome people. The only thing he NEEDS to have is his Shield, that's it. Everything else is up in the air.

Help me SaFA, your my only hope!

Looks fine to me - i like the color palette
The only things that kind of say 'Fox' to me are the hair and the brown color, however.
The shield, to me, is kind of bulky looking for a Martial Arts, scrapper-y, fox-like (or at least named) character. One of the smaller shields, like the round shield or the smaller Tech shield, or an energy or electrical shield might be more, um, nimble or agile looking. Obviously this is pureely subjective opinion here.
Tell us more about Foxman!

Actually I think its pretty good ...I like the foxy hair ... the white tummy, the white on the tip of the hands and feet ...

I like that there is a pattern on the pants ... but I'm not sure the lightning is the best choice.

You could naturally go with a more ... beasty look, with the appropriate colors ... but I think he is looking pretty fine already.

Foxman

I thought your original costume was good. Only difference I would have made was make the tights Shiny instead of normal so it blends better with the shine from the Stealth & Valkyrie pieces. But (for whatever reason) I couldn't find the Top Pattern you used, so I substituted with Diablo, and then went with the Sharp pattern for the legs because it seemed to work pretty well.

As for the shield, I thought a smaller, more maneuverable one might work better, but don't deviate from your concept if he needs the SWAT shield.

Hope this helps!

Hi since someone help me out im going to try and pay it forward.

I went a different direction tried to give him a batmanish feel. I would also pick a smaller shield.

Love the ears Kaktos and I like El_D's shield choice ... not sure which logo I prefer between the two though.

What's your overall idea for the toon? The first picture gives me the impression that he's some sort of superhero mercenary, elite officer or something (like someone from S.H.I.E.L.D. and not just because of the shield ). Foxman is the perfect codename for a highly trained operative. Personally I wouldn't make a literal interpretation in-costume of his name unless his back-story or personality demands it (otherwise you're just another player who wants to play a furry. lol ).

The best costume IMO is one that fits in with or describes in one glance that character's history. Develop a history and the costume will follow. You [u]usually[u] (not always) get very unique looks even when you take from a shared costume parts list.

Here's what I have.

I wasn't too sure about the model, so I left it as Athletic and the head shape is just average. I did make his physique a little slimmer to be less bulky and more sleek.

I changed the bottoms to a brown and black stealth, the belt to a more utility/military looking one and gave him the black folded and leather strap boots. Copy the costume file to your costumes folder. It's for a shield hero, so load it with that power set created first. See if you like it, tweak it or toss it. Up to you.

The idea I was going for with him was a Classic Masked Hero. Like Batman, Blue Beetle, and the like, someone who is powerless and using what they have.

You guys are giving me some amazing ideas, I really appriciate all of this.

Foxman looks like he can be a wiseass on a super team in a fight, like Hawkeye.

if you want I can post my file also.

Definitely. I think maybe it's not up-front apparent you can do this in the game for most people. People probably either don't notice the buttons in the upper right of the costume creator, or don't know the costumes get saved as actual files. But let's hope it catches on.

Oh, be sure you de-select the "Link Colors" radio button after you load the costume, otherwise you'll mess up your costume. I noticed that when you load a costume this gets checked automatically even if you had it unchecked before the load.

[edit: Nevermind about the gender thing. I thought I did that once, but I'm mistaken.]

I totally agree with the Dr on this. Some real nice ideas here. My initial reaction was to go ferral, so the characters background is always helpful. I'll try to contribute something!

*EDIT: The Foxman The shield integration was giving me problems, so I just left it out. I've used a couple of variations on this head design before, but the facial hair just works too damn well for a fox not to use it

I had to give this one a shot. I think the original design was near-perfect, but I also agree with some of the other suggestions here; namely, lightning was the wrong pattern for the pants and that the shield just doesn't look all that agile or "foxy."
