Would anyone like a stab at War-Hornet?

The screens are too small, what pattern are the arms chest and legs? Surprised you didn't get genericized (sp) for using Batman colors...

Generally, you can get more usable screen shots out of the character creator or Icon/facemaker screens. It's very hard to set up in game screen shots that artists can use soley as reference for your character.

Not enough Batman influences beyond colors to be genericized I think. Have you ever seen it happen in game? It's pretty cool....

I'd lighten up the new ones. Kinda hard to see.

You have to realize for the screenshot to be usable, especially by a blind bat like me, they have to be full screen size... we're talking at least 800 pixels by 600 pixels, less background, more toon. The ones you have are in the mid 300s, so my eyes are straining to see the details. A way around this is to tell people what the costume pieces are, so they can go into the costume creator and make the costume themselves...

I will occasionally meet someone in game to take my own screens, because let's face it, playing a toon full time, the player/creator has a very distinct and personal vision of what they spend their time with... an artist interpreting this only has the screens to use... so please they have to be larger and brighter...

respectfully,

LJ

less dark pictures as well, make it easy for anyone to see what your character looks like. And there's no such thing as too much detail. The more they can see of your character the better. I can tell from the screenshots that you're using the Vandal pattern for the top and bottom, but only because I've used it myself, otherwise it's hard as hell to see.

i think his look is unique enough not to get generic'd, kinda has influences from Batman, and Yellow Jacket.

I also prefer the top gold shoulders version to the new screens, btw...

I love the first costume aswell with the shoulder pads.

I find this kinda weird or maybe its just me:

First he has too small,
then too dark,

but there seems to be a very big difference in color and possibly some small details in design(the shoulders for instance).
Kinda seems weird to me, like you arnt sure yourself what he looks like or how you want him drawn and such.

More detail, keep it all the same and also any character detail I have noticed helps. You could say (he is kind of a batman type hero but looks like a yellow jacket and... I dont know you could say he walks around like Beast from x-men or whatever.) Even those generic things help greatly for artists.
If you want to put more info and go the more unique route then thats awesome too but details details details.

Possibly screen shots of them in there normal positions (crouching on a building roof corner, flying through the air, etc,) or fighting baddies he normally goes up against using some trademark moves.

More screen shots the better. Not just one screen shot that shows it all but close ups, midway shots, anything several times over from a slightly different angle and position.

I also think ultimatly it isnt going to be just the costume that inspires an artist to draw you. I think you need (through these explainations and details about the character) jog something in the artist to want to draw it because when you give them the shots and the concept, it jumps into there mind.

Again, something as simple as saying Batman plus Yellow Jacket but walksa round like beast might be all it takes to make them want to do something or it might be a paragraph or two.

If I am wrong here please let me know but thats what I have noticed from others getting work done and fromw what i think artists go by. I am not artist though so please LJ or anyone else, slap me if I am wrong.

I don't get how people are saying he looks like batman. He looks nothing like batman to me. If he got genericed for using the same colors as a copyrighted character I can log in and point in a random direction. There you will see someone who needs to be genericed.
