WOW! what a month! first i got the largest commission of my life!
(i filled a little girl's bedroom walls with Disney characters... and i do mean FILLED!)

then my wife had our baby boy 3 weeks early! they are both doing great, btw

then, thanks to the remnants of Hurricane Ike, the area where i live (southern Ohio) was the victim of the largest power outage in our history! over 700,000 people out of power for up to 8 days and longer!

so after all that, i decided to do a pic of my first villain.... well the first villain i managed to play past level 5, lol!

    here she is, Cinder Fury

    enjoy
  4. sorry the next page is taking so long, i suddenly got busy with commissions and stuff, i'll get back to work on the comic asap though, promise!
  5. well, i considered going with a trench coat...

but then i couldn't see her bootie!

  6. LOL!

i had to do some digging to figure out what you were talking about.
i was like "huh? trademark? wha...?"
  7. First of all, get your head out of the gutter! she's not that kind of kitty

so, i was browsing around the consignment house, feelin good about myself for just hitting level 29 (yay!) when i decided that Clawkitty deserves a little treat. so i bought her a present and went to the tailor and gussied her up in her new BAT WINGS!

now, i couldnt just throw a pair of evil looking bat wings on my sweet little innocent (ish) Clawkitty, so i dressed her up a bit.
she's gettign in touch with her inner bad kitty

so here she is, in her original, and new costumes, a drawing of this will most likely come about very soon so keep your eyes open.

    Good Kitty, Bad Kitty

EDIT: one of these days i will learn to check my spelling BEFORE i post!
  8. thanks for all the kind words.

i actually started a full-blown comic about a year ago, but it took ALL of my time to get the pages done.

i was concerned about the same thing happening with this one, so i'm trying to find a way to draw it that still looks good, but doesn't take forever to finish.

thanks for all the support, it really means a lot, seriously!

you could just create a specific Photobucket album and put the link in your sig, then people could just follow that to see the comic.

Whenever you add a page, just say, "New Clawkitty comic, see sig."

    [/ QUOTE ]

thanks for the idea, i decided to use DA instead of photobucket, though
  10. Well, here's page 3.

i actually took the time to ink this one, lol.

this page introduces my first villain.

everyone knows someone like this guy, he's the kind fo person who is so smart, he's actually kinda dumb. like, he has a lot of intelect, but no common sense. the kind of guy who will take a computer completely apart to find out why its not working before he realizes its unplugged. his name is Brainmatter, and here he is in his "normal everyday citizen" disguise. (yes, he's wearing a toupee)

    anyhoo, enjoy!

    Page 3

by the by, if anyone has a suggestion on how i can post the pages in a more convenient way, so that you dont have to sort through the entire thread to see the next page, let me know!

    thanks.

    old stuff

hey, i was just looking through my photobucket album and i found some stuff i did from way back.

here are a few comic strips i did from screens of my very first hero, Shockrum!

this one is a take on the old bugs bunny + elmer fudd gag:

    1 2 3 4 5

this one didnt come out as funny as i hoped:

    1 2 3

    enjoy!
  12. thanks! glad you liked it.

this page may have been a little rushed, the line quality comes from me drawing the panels too small and enlarging them.

i dont expect much continuity in this, the whole idea was to be in like a comic strip format where each page is a joke/story of its own.

i will most likely switch to a 3-4 panel strip style, these 2 pages were done with Comic Life, i just wanted to try it out and see how it works, but i think i'm more comfortable just making my own pages in photoshop.

next page coming soon, i plan on introducing a villain in the next one!
  13. well i was going to put this with the original post, but i didnt see an option to edit .. weird.

anyhoo, heres page 2, its a continuation of the phone call from the first page. this is based on an actual phone call, almost word for word!
    no lie!

Also, someone could snap pictures of her in action, then bring them in to be developed the next day. Now she has to decide whether or not to conveniently discover they're "ruined" or all underexposed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

LOL i actually had an idea similar to this
  15. wow!

i must admit i didnt expect such a response!

thanks for all the great comments... and yeah i missed the little place between her arm and the phone cord, i'll go back and fix that!

i don't know how often i'll work on this, but given the response i'll try to put out new pages as often as i can.

good point about the inside jokes, i'll keep that in mind as i'm writing my pages. as far as the retail part goes, i already have enough material to keep me busy for a while, (most of it is based off of real incidents! ) but i want to do some hero stuff too, so i'm going to have to find a nice balance between the two.

thanks again for the great response and support!
  16. ok, ready or not, heres a little peak into my personal life:

i work in retail... in a 1 hour photo to be exact. i develop film, print pictures, sell cameras and accessories, and spend all day being nice to people i'd rather strangle with my bare hands.

for a while now i had this idea of doing a comic strip based on my real life experiences of serving the general public.

but i also wanted to do a comic based on fantasy, or superheroes and such.

so i came up with the idea of combining the two ideas and do a comic about my favorite hero, Clawkitty. at night she will battle the evil of the streets, and by day she will fight the urge to slice and dice the many dimwits who can't tell the difference between a digital camera and an electric shaver. (yes it really happened!)

here is a quick work up of what may be the first page. this is just an intro, so dont expect any gut busting funny jokes or anything. :P
    Clawkitty, page 1

let me know what you think, not only about the page, but the idea in general.

    thanks
  17. fixed a little bit:

    1

    2

    3

    4

i would still recommend better screens though.

i might take a stab at this, i'm not working on anything at the moment.

    EDIT:

    Sketchy
  18. Clawkitty

    Stealth Kill

    good job!

i have a really hard time trying to draw faces at that angle.

what program are you using to color with?
  19. Clawkitty

    Destina

someone on another forum made a comment that my colors looked flat because i didnt use enough contrast.

so i decided to play with this one a little bit, made my highlights a little highlight-y-er and my shadows a little shadowy-er... yeah.

anyhoo, here is the tweeked version, i also shaded the eyes and fixed a few bad spots in the hair.

please comment on which version you like better, this will help me in the future.

    thanks

    More Cowbell!... i mean CONTRAST!
  20. Clawkitty

    Destina

    thanks for the comments

i just realized i forgot to put the shading in her "eyes", i'll have to go back and put that in.
  21. Clawkitty

    Destina

i was looking through my old characters in the game and a came across this one that i had actually written a back story for. so naturally i had to draw her

i spent a little more time on this one than some of my other recent stuff. but i think it was worth it.

    Destina

the back story for her is there too.
  22. Thanks, glad you like it

credit goes to redheadstock for creating the brushes.
