Shrouded in Light ((Openish Rp))
((OOC: Techblaze is being carried by a villain down a sewer pipe. I was just gonna post him being put down. After that, I imagine he'll be walking down a sewer pipe with a villain, unless he contrives some way to figure out her true nature. However I've just discovered I have to go cart some kid to and from Tae Kwon Do, so I won't be back until later.))
[OOC: Mortanis is outside beating the #$@* out of an apparent decoy, but he does not know it yet.]
OOC:
My character is taking a nap outside Paragon, while White Masque is about to fight a buncha Hellions and zombies.
o_0? [hmmm. This will require some thought.]
OOC:
I would suggest reading the first 3 stories posted here. They don't explain everything, but you should get the gist of it.
Tress' phone rings. She answers, "Yes?"
After a moment her face droops in frustration, "Oh course, he did. I'll be there shortly!"
She looks up apologetically, "My boyfriend was captured by the DE and they're threatening to kill him. I hate to dine and dash, but... well he's my boyfriend yanno."
Tress waves goodbye and takes flight, quickly gaining altitude and before long she was a distant blip in the sky.
((OOC: Sorry guys, but I'm having a hard time following the story, plus I've got work and other things that are taking far too much time. I can't keep up with it. Enjoy yourselves!))
((Ceus is carrying Techblaze, traveling with the heroes, trying to pass herself off as a hero until she can make good her escape. I'm assuming all the heroes who were going made it to the sewers.))
Ceus quickly took stock of the heroes standing around in the sewers. 1 controller, 3 tanks, and a scrapper. The blaster must have been the one to leave out the front door. Bah. If her cover got blown now, she'd be creamed faster than Recluse after his Web Fiasco without so much as a single exchange of witty banter.
Setting Techblaze down, she asked, "Can anyone wake him up? I'm stronger than I look, but I'd rather not carry him the whole way."

"I'm quite all right, miss," Techblaze spoke up. "And while I appreciate the aid, I am not some sack of potatoes."
The elderly tanker had been rather shaken by his fall. Without the shield buffers he was little more than a wirey scientist in a fancy suit. That suit, even inert, had prevented him from being seriously hurt but the wind had been knocked from him. Then he was further surprised when someone scopped him up and tore off down the tunnels at breakneck speeds. It had all been a little much for him to deal with.
"My armour should reboot in a tick, so might I inquire as to the name of my rescuer and just where she came from?"
((OOC: For future reference, I suppose I should ask about Rise of the Phoenix. In the actual game I explain it as him triggering an emergency overload in the suit's systems resulting in a power surge and explosion. But having never played one of these posting RPG games with a character who has a self rez, is that too powerful?))
OOC:
Nope. If a power does it in-game, it does that in RP as well. The only downside to be considered is friendly fire, which is easy enough to just write out via empathetic targetting or something.
Dark armor users with soul transfer rock the casbah for this reason.
Ceus took a step back from the hero and scanned the length of sewer. No exits nearby.
Still, no one had called her 'Miss' in a long time. Hell she was borne before the word was coined and a monster after it was. Such civility in the face of turmoil, it...pleased her.
"I'm Ceus. My team leader sent me to Faultline to find an assassin. I was searching the old base when everything started blowing up. I think she got away though. I'll have to chase right after her as soon as we get out of here."

Kokuin stood on the concrete next to IQ, Staring at all the different scratchings and stains on the wall. He had spent a lot of time in the sewers (because he was always mistaken for dead and dragged off by Vahzilok in his sleep) he had a mental map of almost the entire network written in his head.
When Kokuin configured where they were, his attention turned to the new arrival. Her presence seemed...off. The psychic network allowed him to sense the presence of enemies. He wasn't so sure about this one, although he doesn't act on psychic instinct alone.
"Greetings!" Kokuin said as he bowed cheerfully as he did with all the rest "My names Kokuin, what assassin is it that your looking for?" he queried.
Professor IQ tipped his tophat to Ceus and said, "A pleasure to meet you. Professor IQ is my name, and getting us all out of here alive is the game." He smiled and continued, "So now we get to traverse the sewers. Ahh, the aroma is most inticing. Hooligan's restaurant must be serving their chicken fried steak again." He chuckled again but kept a wary eye out for any pursuers.
Bullets hit, flame seared, darkness did whatever darkness did. The radiant White Masque took it all in. "Can I have seconds?" He asked gleefully. There wasn't a single mark or wound on him, flattened bullets clattering to the ground all around him. White Masque turned and spotted the Grave Knights coming closer.
"YAY!!!!!!! SWORD FIGHT " He yelled, leaping at them, bringing his icy sword crashing down on the nearest.
Her life was a series of tragic and strange events chained together by arcane forces that would make heads explode trying to comprehend, and somehow Ceus was certain that if she had a mouth, it would be agape. Stupidily selfless and rediculously righteous they may be, but damned if she hadn't encountered more politeness in the past 30 seconds than the last three weeks in Grandville.
It was sad to think that she'd probably have to fight such polite folk later. Oh well, she could bask in being treated like a person for a few more minutes. Till they got out of the sewers at any rate.
"Asuki, that was her name, I recall..." she trailed off as she heard something coming up the sewer
The metallic clomping was as obvious as the bright blue energy rifle that was rounding the corner.
I never thought I'd be so happy to see Malta....
Wait...I'm never happy to see Malta.
"Karma. it has to be." Ceus muttered as she pointed, "This is getting silly."

((I'm sorry I don't really have a creative way to bow out, but this is moving too fast with me and my school schedual. I can barley keep up, and there are too many posts to read off of
:-/ Sorry gang, just let Blood fade off, he got lost int he sewers or soemthing, Asuki was never seen after the incident...))
((OOC: Sorry to see you go, Blood. I liked watching your avatar and for a couple pages there we were the team that would not die. Now Masque's off picking on greys, it seems, and Kokuin and I are the only tanks left in the sewers to fight the Malta and Ceus. <sarcasm>Oh, how I love fighting Malta....</sarcasm>)
Techblaze nodded to the Professor's comments about the sewer. "It really is quite fascinating," he added, "how often it is I end up down here. That Dr. Vahzilok fellow is frightfully persistant, though I've never been quite able to figure out what he was after."
A quiet beep could be heard from his armour and his mustache stretched into a smile. "Spledid!" he crowed as he depressed a control. Green lights, previously unnoticed on his armour, flared to life as his systems came back online. And once again he thankfully didn't explode.
"Just in time, as well," he noted as Ceus drew his attention to the oncoming soldiers. "Who's this now? Malta? What the devil are they doing here?" His shields went up as his heart sank. His battlecry as he leapt towards the group, hoping desperately for an unlikely element of surprise, was a far from motivational, "Bloody hell, they have a sapper."
((PS: Someone who does damage please kill the sapper! Techblaze won't have ET for another 2 lvls and whirling hands just won't cut it.))
OOC:
Technically the Hellions could be level 5000789 and it wouldn't make a lick of difference. I have come to believe in the asumption that any NPC encountered, despite game reputation, is always of equal level to the player. Even if that NPC is a hellion. These hellions con normally to the decoy as if they were the level of Masquerade.
So really, the only edge White Masque has is that it can't be-oops. :3
BIC:
((I hate this, people having to bow out. And now I do as well, and I started the thing, for crying out loud! I can't keep up with the posts ppl, sorry. And now I'm having to study for- stuff. I hope you guys can keep this going, and feel free to replace Lord Voltarr with one of your own villains. GL.))
Techtro groaned and staggered in the sewer. The damage from the attack was more extensive than he had first thought. "Sorry guys," he croaked, "I gotta bail or I'm in far worse trouble..."
He patted the nearest hero on the back right before he acted the medport, though. Was it his imagination, or did the dark feeling in his head go away?
Ceus growled as their numbers dwindled. With a full team she could hold back, even against Malta, but now it seemed that it was going to get rocky.
She saw the Sapper charge his rifle, to clear the way for the Hercules Titans behind him, and knew he was the First target.
Stretching her arms out she chanted in Gaelic, "Spirits of the Dead serve me, Bind this minon, As I will--so mote it be!"
Bright yellow strands flew from her fingertips, wrapping the Malta agent tighter than a sailor's knot leaving him helplessly floating in the air. The Soul Storm was Ghost Widow's signature move, something she taught to to her favorite servants and once again Ceus wished that she had a single target hold in her primary...
She hastened her 'allies' with temporary speed and recovery, then let siphoned speed from the helpless Malta stooge.
Closing next to him, she let loose a massive blast of concussive force, hard enough to knock him senseless.
Then she drained his stamina, letting his energy out into a wave that others could absorb. "How does it feel? Scum."
Drained, unconscious and floating in the air, Ceus was finally satisfied with the Sapper and turned to see how the others fared.

((OOC: I think it's funnier to imagine some villain sending a bunch of greys into battle. Mostly I was just pointing out that you were doing fine for the moment and didn't need help. As for people dropping, that is becoming the trend and it is lame! Also I haven't really been paying attention to a lot of the villain posts and I *think* Nidhiki's guy who posted in grey was kind of important. Do we still have a driving force for the heroes to fight?
((Speaking of fights, Techblaze had already run off so it's unlikely he's the one who got the dark presence thing. I'll wait to post until everybody else gets a shot in.))
[OOC: If need be, Mortanis can be the new "super bad dude" for you'll to fight. He wants you dead. Simple, right?]

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA^!!!!!
Professor IQ glared hard at the coming onslaught and sighed. He then straightened up his shoulder, fixed his top hat and reached forth his hand and aimed at the Sapper and said in a deep and ominous voice, "All your powers are no match to the Force for it has great effect against the weak-minded!" He then smiled and cast a devastating Domination against the Malta sapper causing the man to convulse into terrible, nightmarish pain....
[Me and mine are... displeased by Bwerp's outburst. There shall be pain, flames, and lazers to prove my wrath.]
[ Kokuin is currently in the sewers where Techblaze and IQ were heading for, he just announced by shouting out to everyone that he knows where they are within the sewers]
