((Hey, it's Agent Techtro again; and once again, I perfer you call me Tech. For you fanfic-writer wannabees out there, I'm with ya! This is an Openish Roleplay. What does "Openish" mean, you ask? Well I'll tell ya! It means I'm fine with pretty much any kinda player joining, AS LONG AS THE STICK TO THE STORY . I've seen stories with 50 different players taking 50 different spin-offs of the same begining. So post your entires (and a little discription to help us all out,) and I'll put out a second post when we have a good number of people. Feel free to enter a second charachter if you can keep up, and also if a few want to nominate their Villain, I'll keep an open mind. Let's see if this works out, people! Participate!))

Setting:
A busted up supergroup base in Faultline. A few heroes are meeting on an unknown tip-off. Prepare to take on some Supervillains, Arachnos, and Malta on the way.

My characters:
Agent Techtro - Quiet and geeky, Techtro, or Tech as he likes to be called, fits in like a square peg. An elf, a teenager, and a cyborg. This is sometimes the triple negative for some.
Lord Voltarr - Every bit a villain, Voltarr "piggybacked" off of Lord Voldermort's infamy by creating a similar name, though in his defense he makes a pretty decent imitation in both looks and personality. He is a pure villain, and goes out of his way to crush, threaten, steel, destory, maim, and decimate.

((Let's see your entries!))

((Malta and no Ice Tank? I can't stand it... I used to Herd Malta with my Tank, I can't put Blood in here :P Blood Owmen. Strong, easily annoyed(thinkin a counter of your character there Nid), though thoughtful and not very outspoken. He weilds his shape-shifting mace along with him. The ice of the netherworld enshroud his body, making him slick as the very element. He is seen as evil by first glance, with the fangs, the pale skin, and the need of blood, but tends to keep himself in check by draining his opponents. He enjoys a good fight, and loves to hurt Malta with a passion. And yes, he enjoys the upper-world technology... they cause great pain...))Here's for a visual... http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l8...7-18-15-42.jpg ))

((And for villain... I put up my very own, Asuki, netherworld demon possessing a mortal, DA/DM Stalker, smug, but quiet, and quite evil... loves hitting when you're nto expecting it...))

((Great, thx for "trying out," as it were. Asuki, Professor IQ, and Blood Owman are all accepted. Still looking, ppl! Feel free to join in!))
((P.S. To anyone who looked close enough, Lord Voltarr is a thief, not in the steel industry lol.))

Professor IQ sat at table in the old base. He was idly playing with an old chess set that had been left there; trying different openings and strategies he had in his head, after all, he wanted to keep his chess game up despite the fact he hadn't found anyone to play him in over a month. The quiet emptiness of the base at that moment was just perfect. He could gather his thoughts about the tip he had received a few hours earlier about some new villian planning to terrorize the good people of Paragon City.

Been there. Done that. He chuckled to himself as he thought about all the villians he had so far gone against. He thought about the various heroes who had helped him and that he had helped finish their missions and their goals. He thought about his own stablemates of the Myths and Legends Coalition, and he thought about the days to come and how much longer could it possibly be before the forces of Rogue Islands would try and come to take over Paragon City. He brushed the latter thought from his mind and went back to trying out new ways to defend against the "Kings Gambit" for black and soon wondered if any other heroes were going to come to this place and discuss the new threat...

There would be a swift, air cutting sound within the base, as well as a quick drop in tempature. This soon followed by the sound of wings flapping, and the large hulking figure of what looked like a robot landing from an opening within the roof of the base. As he stood, the ice began to fall from his body, falling in chunks to the ground, shattering. Though his eyes cannot be seen, it is obvious that the Proffessor is his first sight as he stares in his direction, the guard over his eyes giving a "screened" view of the area.

The screen within the guard pulls up basic hero identification for him, he quickly dismisses it. His eyes then turn to the board before this Proffessor IQ, and a smirk sneaks over his hidden lips, "A game of old." He mutters, walking toward the seat across from it, "Are you experienced?" He askes, taking a gentle sit, so as to not break what was lef tof the metal chair.

((Unfortunately, I’ll be out of town the week of Easter, visiting family in Texas, so this will be my last post for a few days. Keep up the good posts, MesonicTemplar and BloodServent! Until I return you can write in Techtro’s actions. And others, feel free to join in! [Please post your characters and descriptions first, for connivance’s sake please!]))

A small sound echoed in the emptiness of the long forgotten gathering place. A rat fled from the former safety of the shadows, pausing in the middle of the room with one foot raised to sniff the air. The unmistakable sound of a footstep startled the rat, sending it scurrying into the protection of the darkness of the unexplored depths of the base. Strange hissing sounds came steadily closer. A boy in his mid-teens sporting blue and black armor stepped into the ring of light that the fixed fluorescent floodlight beamed down. He wore a helmet with a dark visor that his eyes but revealed an expressionless mouth. The whirling noises came from his metal arms and legs, which had long replaced normal limbs. Agent Techtro glanced at Professor IQ, then nodded, and wordlessly stepped over to his own corner. He hit a few hidden depressions in his arm with his left hand, and a holographic display materialized above his wrist. When he thought the other hero wasn’t looking, he moved his arm so that he saw him through the transparent screen. Words appeared above his head:

Professor IQ - Paragon City Hero

Suddenly, he heard the sound of wings buffeting the air. A huge, robotic figure landed in the room, appearing from the dark outline of a hole in the ceiling. Although his arms and legs did not pick up the sudden change in temperature, the rest of him sure did. A quick scan with the holograph screen displayed the same basic ID.

Blood Owman - Paragon City Hero

All was well. Smiling to himself, he shut down the holograph, crossed his arms over his chest, and leaned against a dilapidated wall, waiting to see who else had been alerted. A new threat? Dangerous villains? Who was the guy who sent the message, a tourist? He’s obviously never been a hero, that's for sure. I mean, since when are villains big news? I wade through them to get to Starbucks every mourning! He shook his head slowly, and then prepared to wait for whoever else was coming. He watched the other two heroes, fascinated. He would wait… and be ready.

Professor IQ smiled and replied, "My last official rating was 1350, not bad for someone who only gets to play sparingly." He held out his hand, "Professor IQ is my name, I am going to guess that you too have gotten a certain tip concerning another threat to Paragon City.." He moved the King's pawn up two squares inviting the newcomer to join in the game while they talked and other heroes began to come into the room. "...a new series of events set into motion and more worries for us the so called 'heroes' of this city? What additional problems do we need now?" The professor eyed the hero sitting across from him. Fully assessing and sizing up his potential teammate when another technology based hero entered the room...

He smirks, nodding softly once, keeping from shaking the hand by moving his Queen-Side Knight up once. "Indeed, the things people can catch with ears strong enough to hear the length of a... oh damn, you upper-worlders call it... football field, yes." He chuckles softly. "And the name I've been dubed it Blood Owmen, a pleasure. I'm keeping my distance for an obvious reason." He says, holding his piece still, to look down would to lay eyes on a now frozen Knight-piece, ice sticking it to the board.
"My very body is negative fifty degrees ferinheight..." He explains, pulling his hand away. "It's hard to let go once my hand is shaken." He chuckles again, "The last person to do so had to have their skin sewn back on, it was a messy sight..." He sighs and looks about, from his entrence, to the one of Tech, "Seems a small group of us have gotten the message, or at least responded..."

((Back, fellow heroes of Paragon! Thanks for the posts, and yes, the turnout was disappointing. ))

The cyborg siddled up to the chessboard, his legs humming and hissing softly as he did. He nodded to the others and spoke in a near whisper. "Agent Techtro, for obvious reasons. Strange tip. Don't trust that Arachnos contact. You say others were told? They were smart; found other places to be." The corners of his mouth turned down in a frown, but his eyes remained masked behind the black visor. "I don't know what we're waiting around for. If anyone shows up, it's because this was an ambush. It's just my opinion, but I think this local was chosen so that there would be no mess and- Not the knight! The rook! The rook!" Agent Techtro turned about mid-sentance and gestured with exasperation at the chess game; of which, of course, he knew little to nothing about.

The moon shown down peacefully on the islands below. The water sat serenely below, soaking up the cold, blue rays. Of course when the moon beams got within a mile of the Rogue Isles, they turned icy and foreboading, and the calm sea reaked of scum, jetsam, and the ghosts of the islands' victums. A strange figure stood on the beach, a desolate area in many ways. He was bald, pale as dead man, garbed in an impressive black cloak, and easily seven feet tall. He was also holding an Arachnos opperative off the ground - by his throat. The opperative's face was contorted with agony, and the tall man's inhuman features displayed a cruel pleasure. He hissed in the Arachnos minnion's face. "So, only three heroes? Too bad. That's what happens when your scum of an excuse for a leader lays traps. It fails." The smaller man moaned. "L-lord Recluse will b-be furious..." The other's smile only widened. "Yes, he will. And you will feel his wrath. But I feel generous. Tell me what I need to know and you will never have to face the mighty, terrifying 'Lord Recluse'." The opperative moaned again, his face turning blue from lack of air. "He'll kill me." He was shaken, hard. " I'll kill you. Tell me!" "He'll torture me." "Tell me!" "He knows-" " TELL ME!! "

(Can I still make an entry?)
[Kokuin-Seventeen with the mind of a ten year old. Cheerfully enthusiastic and easily distracted.Pale skin with blue hair and horn protrusions growing from his head.]
(Page with Kokuin's full description

A noise was heard from outside, as an ever present sound of marching fast footsteps was heard echoing from outside the base. As the step grew closer a sudden scream of what sounded like "Goooooo!" could be heard enclosing on the location of the base. At that moment the base doors busted open as though someone had attempted to blast the doors down and Kokuin stumbled into the room. His body hitting the base floor made a large metal "clank" sound as his horn scrapped across the floor. He quickly mounted to his feet and observed the room. After a few seconds he felt the shock of what was happening and became panic stricken, he quickly shut his eyes and bowed, as he shouted in a panicked tone "I'm sorry i'm late! I dozed off in the middle of Atlas Park and when I awoke, there were Vahzilok having a conversation about my kidneys looming over me. I got here as fast as I could."

Professor IQ had quickly gotten up from the table at the sound of the ruckus. He levitated a trash can near the door prepared to throw it at the disturbance, but let it down when the new Meta emerged.

The Professor then introduced himself to the newcomers and also introduced his new companion currently making another great move on the chessboard. He calmly said, "Ok guys, so let us share what we know. Knowledge is power and we need all the knowledge we can get. What new evil could possible add itself to the already crowded mixes of badguys around here?"

Tress flew at top speed searching the dusty, cracked landscape for this base. A ball of energy trailed her doggedly, buzzing past trees as if they weren't there.
"Yes, I know we're late..." she muttered towards the ball of twisting light.
She continued to fly, dipping into the canyons glancing around for any hint of where the base was located. She turned sharply to look at the energy flowing her.
"What do you mean you spotted it half a mile back?!" she asked, "Singu, I swear if you weren't nonphysical I would smack you..."
She huffed climbing into the air and out of the ravine, "Yes, I know it's not a word..."

**
From the opening in the roof of the base, a light shines in and there is a tapping noise at the concrete.
"Knock, Knock.. Am I late?" the voice is friendly and tinged with southern drawl.
A woman with green skin and blue/purple hair peers in overshadowed by the bright yellow singularity hovering over her shoulder.

((forgive my lateness, I just discovered this thread and thought ya'll might not mind another person. ))

((Welcome,Tress and Kokuin! Nice of you to "drop in." If someone else wants to introduce a villain, just post a short description and you're in. Don't think we want a whole lot more heroes, though a few more won't be turned away.))

Techtro gave a indignant snort as Porfessor IQ ignored his useless advice, and turned as the green-skinned heroine stepped through the now-hopeless door. A quick scan of her and the hero sporting horns confirmed that they were registered under Paragon City. "What? No ambush? Hope I don't have to watch these two play checkers for too much longer," he sighed with mock disappointment. He bowed formally to Tress and Kokuin, and to the gravitational singularity. Then the young cyborg turned to the wall and began setting up something along the floor using the various items that he carried around in his salvage pouch. "I'm sure this will work. It has to..."

Tress grinned when Techtro bowed to her Singularity returned the bow to him, albeit informally and obviously unpracticed. She glanced at the ball of light and snorted in amusement, but quickly returned her focus on the group at large.
"I'm Tress of the Twilight Vanguard," she gestures a thumb towards the ball of light, "That's Singu, of....something or another..."
She pauses in her introductions, noticing that Techtro has begun pulling stuff out of a pouch, "And that's some random stuff... What are you doing, sugah?"

((I would like to nominate one of my villains, but I'm not sure how that works in context with the heroes. Just have them show up, or does the author of the thread and the villain player have a private message chat?
Villain: Kaminaga ninja/dark mm. Older asian woman, with a black wrap around her eyes and dressed in fading reds. Upon closer inspection one would notice that her hands are claw like with her left arm missing chunks.
Police profile: Consider armed and dangerous, uses deadly force . Those who have lived to talk about her say her minions respond to her without vocal prompting, it has been suggested she cannot speak. Has known associations with Arachnos))

((You can use your villain to give a hint of what's cooking on the redside, like I did; and the villains will eventually meet up with the heroes and, of course, battle them.))

The young hero didn't seem to notice, and, muttering to himself incoherently, continued to set up crude devices around the perimeter of the room that looked alarmingly like explosives. By now he was half way around the wall. Softly, like the whisper of a breeze, a rumbling sound came from deep within the base. But the noise faded into the darkness, and nothing else seemed to come of it.

Kokuin quickly bowed again. "I got so worked up after being late I forgot to introduce myself" Kokuin lifted his head and scratched the back of his neck. "My name is Kokuin!" Kokuin then took a brisk walk around the base, observing everything about the beaten up room. "Wow!" Kokuin said turning to Professor IQ "It's amazing, look at the scraps and rust all around the room. Is it really safe to be here..." Kokuin then noticed the explosive looking devices being placed around the room"...or for him to be laying down traps?" Kokuin sported a slightly worried look, but shook it off and began to pace around the room, still somehow fascinated with it's current state.

The air thrummed as Ceus gently lowered herself to the beach, her heavy booted feet never touching the ground. She watched in slight curiosity as the large bald man tortured the Spider. His methods were effective, but sloppy. There were so many more elegant ways to extract information from a subject.

When he was done questioning the operative, the man tossed the body aside. As it landed a few feet from her, Ceus finally spoke, "You Voltarr?"

"Its possible. Who're you?"

"You put a job offer out with the Brit. I'm Ceus. Magical WMD." She said calmly, her voice turning bitter and cold as she described herself.

His cold eyes looked her up and down before shrugging, "Yeah. That's me. Assualt or Support?"

"Both."

"Good. You're hired."

((OOC: If there's still room for more then I'd like to toss my hat into the ring. Techblaze is a fire/em tanker. I tend to reference a lot of powers when I write these though my descriptions might not be totally self explanatory. For instance, the energy field in the post below is actually Tough. It's also what keeps the fire powers from burning his exposed flesh. As for the man inside the suit, he's a scientist using experimental particles as a potential energy source. He's very reflective and a little eccentic. He also enjoys boxing, which he learned from his time in the British military. Yeah, he's a Brit. With a stereotypical accent and everything. Pics coming soon. I've also got a villain, but I'd rather concentrate on playing Techblaze.))

The shrill beep of his phone roused him from his sleep. Rust red hair mixed with the dull steel colour of age was ruffled sleepily as he blinked and searched for the source of the disturbance.

"Oh!" he exclaimed as he finally realized it the was alert he'd set up to warn when he'd been contacted with an urgent mission. He fumbled about and flipped the phone open, glancing at the tiny glowing text. It certainly sounded important, though vague on the details. A shame, really. He liked the details. But the opportunity to investigate a potentially new threat was sorely tempting as well. Not to mention it would likely prove an invaluable d=field test.

Awakened and filled with purpose, he quickly set his lab in order. He placed all of his projects in safe containers, checked the various gas lines and chemical storage areas for leaks, and fed the dog. Then he plugged his phone into a custom base and uploaded its info to his armour's memory as he slipped his own wiry frame into the nearly impervious bodysuit. With his goggles, gauntlets, and cape in place he took a deep breath and activated the suit's systems.

Thank heavens; he didn't explode.

As he felt the distant tingle of the energy field surround him he triggered his Ouroboros portal. The new suit was much less claustrophobic than his old exo-suit, but there was a very small chance of a critical failure. He stepped into the orange glow and mentally plotted his route to Faultline using the organization's portal network.

**A few minutes later**

He landed easily in front of the dilapidated building and could not help but evaluate the structural integrity and find it somewhat lacking. It also didn't feel right. He'd learned to trust his gut when he'd served in the army and this was setting off all his alarms. He pondered this for a moment, then his targeting scanners noted a green figure fly into the structure. The scanners indacated it was another hero and that immediately decided him on his next action. Trap or no, he was not about to let another good guy fall into it alone. He marched forward and with one hand opened the door while he deftly increased the strength of his energy feild with the other.

He crept quickly through the old base, glad he no longer had the heavy tromping step of his old suit but also missing it. He was now much less of an imposing figure. Finally he heard voices and, rounding a corner, he saw a small group milling about. His target scanner identified them all as heroes and he happily relaxed just a little. If there was a trap, it appeared he might at least have some allies.

"Greetings all," he called out cheerfully. "Techblaze, reporting for duty. Hope I haven't missed anything important. I'm rather itching for a bit of a scrap. Oh, I say, is someone playing chess?"

((Oh blast, you'll be makin' fun of us southerners now won't'cha? :P and sorry for such lateness in response to ya'll, School is crappy when you get homework and have Benchmarks...))

The hulking figure that was Blood Owmen, glanced unmovingly at the noise entrence of some unforeseen... thing. He smirked, not really worried, he had more damage taking ability than anyone in the room currently, and didn't mind getting a bruise or two, if anything he welcomed the pain. He seemed only slightly dissappointed when a fellow hero stepped in, soon followed by an alien like girl. Already, as always, he felt the need to charm, but he held back, this wasn't the medevil era, people didn't randomly dissappear and end up in a mote for years. And there would be a hell of a squad if it were a heroess at that.

The large white, machine-like man rose from his seat, walking to each of the new heroes on the scene, offering what he has found as a common western greeting of nodding, since he couldn't touch anyone without risking their health.

Speaking of health, Blood gave a small chuckle when the younger hero mentioned the trap setting, "It could be worse, little-one, it could be traps set by the enemy..." He trialed off, as if something had caught his attention, looking to a hole in the far off part of the base, the hole large enough to throw a table down into. It seemed to have been melted in someway, and if he wasn't sure it wasn't merely his paranoia getting to him, he coulda sworn it was fresh. He blew it off though, and gave a cheery smile to the current group... forgetting the fact that none of them could see him smiling or any facial expression at all...

---------------------

The soft panting of a girl could be heard as Asuki sat in the fresh hole, her darkness shading her body, He had looked RIGHT at her! She thought, gulping as quietly as she could, though, to her it sounded like she had just set off the entire room with an echo. Having vampiric hearing sucked at some points. Her back against the rounded wall of the hole, she raised up a little, tilting her head back, her cold white eyes peering over the ledge into the room, 1, 2, 3, 4... 5! She gave a groan of dissappointment, she had hoped only to face off against one of those weaker summoner types.

Her tied back pony-tail sat between her and the wall. She'll just follow them, tip off a few Arachnos in exchange for some money... She hadn't slept on a bed in ages. Her head recoiled back into the hole, her legs bending slightly so as to not fall into it's depths... probably some Hydra or something at the bottom.

Kokuin, who had circled the room a good seven times now, turned towards the large figured man, he grew a smirk on his face and replied That's a good point, and if they prove effective, we won't have to worry about that as well." Kokuin's attention was quickly diverted from the traps to the new hero who had entered the room. He ran enthusiastically to him and took yet another bow, he then raised his head and smiled cheerly "Good Day! My name is Kokuin and welcome to...this room here. But watch out for the traps, less we want to be the next entry in the obituary." Kokuin realized at that moment that he had yet to know why any of them were here, but he decided to not ask questions for now.
Kokuin had gotten to close to the man when he realized the new hero was emitting a heated aura. The room quickly fell a good three degrees as a cool blue mist began to hover around Kokuin's body.

((Just FYI, it's polite to at least ASK first before acting out another agent's charachter, savvy? Anyway, welcome Techblaze and Ceus. I think we have enough people now, but if you already have a hero in you can nominate your villain and vica versa. Let the bruises and bad feelings among comrades begin!))

Tech slumped over, his work done. He had no idea why he had just booby-trapped the room they were in, he seriously doubted it would help them even if they were ambushed. Still... He looked around and was surprised to see another had joined them; a hero in a robotic suit. He felt sleepy, and his head nodded. Just a little rest-

Suddenly he sat up straight, staring at the traps in horrified facination. Someone had been in his head. Someone had used him to build a device around the room, the very same device that he had just finished covering all walls and doors with. And he had no idea what it was.

Lord Voltarr walked at an even pace through the abandoned Arachnos base. At least, an even pace for him. His tall frame and long legs allowed him to cross more terain at a walk then others could at a run. He hoped that the woman, WMD, or whatever she called herself wasn't trying to follow him. He'd hate to kill a new underling the first day on the job. Finally he found what he was looking for deep in the lowest levels of the base. An old computer, wreaked, but not ruined. He had it up and running quickly, aided by his power over electricity. He saw a dilappidated room appear on the screen. A Wolf Spider had used a camera phone to take the snapshot for one reason or another. The picture was of poor quality, but it showed him what he needed to know. This was the room that the informant had desingated as the meeting place, he was sure of it. His ghostly white face twisted into an expression of grim satifaction. His voice rasped like an ancient door hinge, "Hello, beautiful."

((P.S. Sorry guys, I'm a little lost. What's Brit.? Just short for Britain? Sorry for sounding like a Newb.

As Kokuin used the mist to keep his body cooled, he turned his worried eye once again to the traps spread out. He began to walk briskly towards the table, the only place not completely surrounded by traps and explosives. When he stopped cold in his tracks. He cringed as his eyes narrowd and turned from a youthfully vigorous light blue to a darkened purple. His fists clasped shut. "What...the hell was that?" As quickly as the feeling had overtaken him, then had it dissipated and he returned to his normal stance. "That presence was...malevolent, but I felt it for only a second, it was faded." Kokuin thought in the very back of his mind, that his psychic network had picked something up. The feeling disturbed him, but he shrugged it off and slowly took a seat at the table, still shaken.
