  1. ((I hate this, people having to bow out. And now I do as well, and I started the thing, for crying out loud! I can't keep up with the posts ppl, sorry. And now I'm having to study for- stuff. I hope you guys can keep this going, and feel free to replace Lord Voltarr with one of your own villains. GL.))

Techtro groaned and staggered in the sewer. The damage from the attack was more extensive than he had first thought. "Sorry guys," he croaked, "I gotta bail or I'm in far worse trouble..."

He patted the nearest hero on the back right before he acted the medport, though. Was it his imagination, or did the dark feeling in his head go away?
  2. "Dude," Techtro mumbled as he stared at the sewer around them. "I sure HOPE you know where we are, cause I don't think we're in Kansas any more Toto." He shrugged off the feeling that someone was talking to him. The voice was far too quiet to actually be coming from any of his new allies.

"Blood Owman! Professor! Are you coming or not, people?!" He yelled up the hole, hoping fervently that someone would answer.
  3. As the building was collapsing around him, Agent Techtro didn't waste his breath with words. He leapt down the hole in the floor in a freefall, hoping that the others would follow or find a better way out. Within seconds he could sense the bottom approaching, and twisted into an upright position. He landed on the floor as gracefully as if he had just hopped of a bus. He was relieved that his legs seemed not to have accumulated any damage. He was glad he had oiled them the day before.

He heard the sound of another one of his homemade bombs detonating. Even with his inhuman reflexes, he barely managed to dodge the falling masonary. The crashed into the floor, and as he watched the tiled floor of the base buckled and collapsed. But instead of hearing the dull thud of concrete hitting the ground, he heard a splash. He glanced down the jagged pit and saw greenish water flowing far below. Part of an abandoned sewer line.

He called out, hoping that someone would hear. "Guys! I think I found our exit!"
  4. A thought tugged at the back of Thectro's mind, just a tiny voice, nothing to worry about, thought Techtro. Not after waht I've been through. The fact that the epathic mental boost was wearing off never occured to him.

Lord Voltarr sat cross-legged on a dias in a massive chamber. The whole place was pitch dark, except for a three small flood lights that were trained on the dias, illuminating a small swath around him. His pale, nearly tranparent skin normally glowed faintly in the sunlight. Now, it practically burned, as if some ghastly white fire was consuming him. Personally, he couldn't see why so many villains preferred the dark. If the victums can't see you coming, you won't be able to enjoy their screams.

His ears picked up footsteps coming out of the darkness toward him. He waited, his eyes closed. The sounds of footfall stopped several yards outside of the light. Soon, a deep voice intoned respectively. "My lord, the heroes have defeated the Arachnos. We seemed to have discovered a third-party; a villain working for Arachnos. We know nothing more about the villain's idenity or wherabouts. The villainess you hired has not yet secured the assassin." The voice was tinged with a shade of pleasure as he spoke the last words.

Lord Voltarr sat as if he hadn't spoken. The silence grew as the minutes passed. Then the warlord spoke, eyes still shut. "Jelous of my newest appropriation, this Ceus, Khan?"

Khan replied hastily, but remained reverant. "Of course not, my lord. How could you think such a thing of me? If my decades of loyal service do not put me above a mere hatchling to time, I accept it fully."

"Have you served all those years blind, my most loyal of followers, that you cannot guess my reasons? Then I shall explain with small words and short sentances. I need her there. I need you here. You, here; she, there. That is not so hard to grasp, is it? Your services are not best suited to, shall we say, interrupting? This Ceus has underestimated my prowress, thinking she could twist time without my knowledge. I wouldn't have thought she would have made that mistake, and therefore overestimated her. See? You make a mistake, she makes a mistake, I make a mistake, we are all imperfect. Only I aim to change that trivial yet annoying factor. Now go, prepare."

"Yes, my liege." The footsteps retreated, leaving the warlord to the shadow and silence around him. "Yes," he mused, "All make mistakes. But who will make the next, fatal one?"

"I just don't want to be surprised." Lokuin said in a more collected tone. "They're fun in a birthday party, but not for crippled bases."

    [/ QUOTE ]

"You can say that again, though please don't," Techtro groaned. "But if anyone cares waht I think, perhaps a direct change of scenery might be in order? As our icy friend has pointed out, these enemies are hardly powerhouses. Why else would they have been deployed except to keep us here and keep us busy?"

He looking around at the others watching him and his face flushed red under his helmet and visor. "Just a thought," he muttered.

She waited a moment, hoping that it would strengthen the man enough to come back to them.

With a groan, Agent Techtro pushed himself up. He shook his head slowly to clear his foggy senses. His helmet had saved him from death, undoubtedly. Right now he could feel only one thing, white hot anger. He had seen the shimmering outline of a human being seconds before being struck. He hated villains.

"Thanks you guys," he murmered to his rescuers. He stood up unsteadily and began scouring the room with his holographic scanner, searching for those that had hurt him. They would pay... They would... would... The effects of the healing stung. It seemed to erode away something in his mind. Then he felt light, light and free. He had no idea what had been attacking him, but suddenly he didn't feel so eager to find it and fight it.

He looked around at the others. Most of their enemies seemed to be splayed out on the ground, but that didn't mean that he and the others were safe. "Time to be a hero."
  7. Techtro felt hate corse through his being, as he was subjected to listening to the voice again. It had been manipulating his emotions for entertainment, making him hate and love, feel joy, fear, peace, sadness, and even insanity. And now it was talking again.

I am being really generous, you know. I'm on your side. And just to prove it, I'm going to release your pathetic body, just so you want to watch you would-be rescuer die.

The voice faded away, hissing its glee.

Suddenly he woke up and found himself being carried by the heroine with the singularity. He sat bolt upright, shouting a warning. He never even saw it coming. Like Zeus' thunderbolt, he was struck directly in the head by the assassin's blow. His helmet rang as his from collasped once again to the ground, writhing in agony as the umbral power of the strike tore at his mind and body. His final thoughts were, "Can't you stay on your feet for three seconds?!You. Are. A. Complete. Idiot!"

(Just to confirm, am I in or out? I didn't see the message until I was finished with the intro. Either way, looks interesting. Hope you guys/gals have fun.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

((I'll make an exception this time, since you didn't see it. Besides, another villain should make this interesting. Happy posting!))
  9. The tall warlord smiled viciously as he watched the grainy photo of the dilapidated room. His programming skills were mediocre at best, but he had managed to hack into some surveilence equipment and get a thermal scan of the room. He had superimposed the red blips that represented humans and the lighter spots that represented the mechanical spiders of Arachnos onto the picture. "Satisfactory," he growled. The heroes were escaping, as of course they would have too. There was one human blip, though, that was behaving abnormally. Also, none of the others seemed to be encountering or at least reacting to its pressence.

He shut down the program before Arachnos technicians could trace the hack back to him. He roared in a strangely high voice to the darkness around him. "Ceus! I know you're there! I have ready your first assignment!" He waited and absorbed the silence of the dilapidated base. The lack of response did not bother him, it was expected.

"Your pay will be standard, and your bonus for succeeding will be full credit for anything you kill along the way. No more hiding under the shadow of you hirer, Ceus. Your job is simple. Go to Faultline in Paragon city. Bring me the assassin, Asuki."

  11. Pathetic...

Agent Techtoro jerked nervously at the alien sound in his own head. At least he would have. But he couldn't move, couldn't see, couldn't feel, nothing. He was trapped within himself. A sort of sixth sense told him someone was standing over him, a friend. But he was helpless.

Of course you are. You always are, just now more than usual. Don't expect to wake up soon, or maybe at all. A mind filled with doubt, so much easier to control. That's why I chose you. Don't you feel special?

He could feel the presence ebbing away, but he was still trapped. He was almost glad his body was inert, though. He was pretty sure that sobbing would be a very unheroic thing to do indeed.
  12. Agent Techtro snarled aloud and leapt to his feet. With a sound like a lightsaber being drawn in a sci-fi, twin beams of light and energy slid out of his forearms. They were shaped like a schimitar's cruel blade, and as they twisted through the air they hummed like a tuning fork.

"It's a trap! They used me!" he yelled as he spun wildly, trying to locate the source of the strange vibrations his robotic sensors were picking up on. "Stay away from the wall, I have no idea what- Urgh..." The teenage agent slumped to the ground and was still once more.
  13. ((Just FYI, it's polite to at least ASK first before acting out another agent's charachter, savvy? Anyway, welcome Techblaze and Ceus. I think we have enough people now, but if you already have a hero in you can nominate your villain and vica versa. Let the bruises and bad feelings among comrades begin!))

Tech slumped over, his work done. He had no idea why he had just booby-trapped the room they were in, he seriously doubted it would help them even if they were ambushed. Still... He looked around and was surprised to see another had joined them; a hero in a robotic suit. He felt sleepy, and his head nodded. Just a little rest-

Suddenly he sat up straight, staring at the traps in horrified facination. Someone had been in his head. Someone had used him to build a device around the room, the very same device that he had just finished covering all walls and doors with. And he had no idea what it was.

Lord Voltarr walked at an even pace through the abandoned Arachnos base. At least, an even pace for him. His tall frame and long legs allowed him to cross more terain at a walk then others could at a run. He hoped that the woman, WMD, or whatever she called herself wasn't trying to follow him. He'd hate to kill a new underling the first day on the job. Finally he found what he was looking for deep in the lowest levels of the base. An old computer, wreaked, but not ruined. He had it up and running quickly, aided by his power over electricity. He saw a dilappidated room appear on the screen. A Wolf Spider had used a camera phone to take the snapshot for one reason or another. The picture was of poor quality, but it showed him what he needed to know. This was the room that the informant had desingated as the meeting place, he was sure of it. His ghostly white face twisted into an expression of grim satifaction. His voice rasped like an ancient door hinge, "Hello, beautiful."

((P.S. Sorry guys, I'm a little lost. What's Brit.? Just short for Britain? Sorry for sounding like a Newb.
  14. [ QUOTE ]

((I would like to nominate one of my villains, but I'm not sure how that works in context with the heroes. Just have them show up, or does the author of the thread and the villain player have a private message chat?

    [/ QUOTE ]

((You can use your villain to give a hint of what's cooking on the redside, like I did; and the villains will eventually meet up with the heroes and, of course, battle them.))

The young hero didn't seem to notice, and, muttering to himself incoherently, continued to set up crude devices around the perimeter of the room that looked alarmingly like explosives. By now he was half way around the wall. Softly, like the whisper of a breeze, a rumbling sound came from deep within the base. But the noise faded into the darkness, and nothing else seemed to come of it.
  15. ((Welcome,Tress and Kokuin! Nice of you to "drop in." If someone else wants to introduce a villain, just post a short description and you're in. Don't think we want a whole lot more heroes, though a few more won't be turned away.))

Techtro gave a indignant snort as Porfessor IQ ignored his useless advice, and turned as the green-skinned heroine stepped through the now-hopeless door. A quick scan of her and the hero sporting horns confirmed that they were registered under Paragon City. "What? No ambush? Hope I don't have to watch these two play checkers for too much longer," he sighed with mock disappointment. He bowed formally to Tress and Kokuin, and to the gravitational singularity. Then the young cyborg turned to the wall and began setting up something along the floor using the various items that he carried around in his salvage pouch. "I'm sure this will work. It has to..."
  16. [ QUOTE ]
He sighs and looks about, from his entrence, to the one of Tech, "Seems a small group of us have gotten the message, or at least responded..."

    [/ QUOTE ]

((Back, fellow heroes of Paragon! Thanks for the posts, and yes, the turnout was disappointing. ))

The cyborg siddled up to the chessboard, his legs humming and hissing softly as he did. He nodded to the others and spoke in a near whisper. "Agent Techtro, for obvious reasons. Strange tip. Don't trust that Arachnos contact. You say others were told? They were smart; found other places to be." The corners of his mouth turned down in a frown, but his eyes remained masked behind the black visor. "I don't know what we're waiting around for. If anyone shows up, it's because this was an ambush. It's just my opinion, but I think this local was chosen so that there would be no mess and- Not the knight! The rook! The rook!" Agent Techtro turned about mid-sentance and gestured with exasperation at the chess game; of which, of course, he knew little to nothing about.

The moon shown down peacefully on the islands below. The water sat serenely below, soaking up the cold, blue rays. Of course when the moon beams got within a mile of the Rogue Isles, they turned icy and foreboading, and the calm sea reaked of scum, jetsam, and the ghosts of the islands' victums. A strange figure stood on the beach, a desolate area in many ways. He was bald, pale as dead man, garbed in an impressive black cloak, and easily seven feet tall. He was also holding an Arachnos opperative off the ground - by his throat. The opperative's face was contorted with agony, and the tall man's inhuman features displayed a cruel pleasure. He hissed in the Arachnos minnion's face. "So, only three heroes? Too bad. That's what happens when your scum of an excuse for a leader lays traps. It fails." The smaller man moaned. "L-lord Recluse will b-be furious..." The other's smile only widened. "Yes, he will. And you will feel his wrath. But I feel generous. Tell me what I need to know and you will never have to face the mighty, terrifying 'Lord Recluse'." The opperative moaned again, his face turning blue from lack of air. "He'll kill me." He was shaken, hard. " I'll kill you. Tell me!" "He'll torture me." "Tell me!" "He knows-" " TELL ME!! "
  17. ((Unfortunately, I’ll be out of town the week of Easter, visiting family in Texas, so this will be my last post for a few days. Keep up the good posts, MesonicTemplar and BloodServent! Until I return you can write in Techtro’s actions. And others, feel free to join in! [Please post your characters and descriptions first, for connivance’s sake please!]))

A small sound echoed in the emptiness of the long forgotten gathering place. A rat fled from the former safety of the shadows, pausing in the middle of the room with one foot raised to sniff the air. The unmistakable sound of a footstep startled the rat, sending it scurrying into the protection of the darkness of the unexplored depths of the base. Strange hissing sounds came steadily closer. A boy in his mid-teens sporting blue and black armor stepped into the ring of light that the fixed fluorescent floodlight beamed down. He wore a helmet with a dark visor that his eyes but revealed an expressionless mouth. The whirling noises came from his metal arms and legs, which had long replaced normal limbs. Agent Techtro glanced at Professor IQ, then nodded, and wordlessly stepped over to his own corner. He hit a few hidden depressions in his arm with his left hand, and a holographic display materialized above his wrist. When he thought the other hero wasn’t looking, he moved his arm so that he saw him through the transparent screen. Words appeared above his head:

Professor IQ - Paragon City Hero

Suddenly, he heard the sound of wings buffeting the air. A huge, robotic figure landed in the room, appearing from the dark outline of a hole in the ceiling. Although his arms and legs did not pick up the sudden change in temperature, the rest of him sure did. A quick scan with the holograph screen displayed the same basic ID.

Blood Owman - Paragon City Hero

All was well. Smiling to himself, he shut down the holograph, crossed his arms over his chest, and leaned against a dilapidated wall, waiting to see who else had been alerted. A new threat? Dangerous villains? Who was the guy who sent the message, a tourist? He’s obviously never been a hero, that's for sure. I mean, since when are villains big news? I wade through them to get to Starbucks every mourning! He shook his head slowly, and then prepared to wait for whoever else was coming. He watched the other two heroes, fascinated. He would wait… and be ready.
  18. ((Great, thx for "trying out," as it were. Asuki, Professor IQ, and Blood Owman are all accepted. Still looking, ppl! Feel free to join in!))
((P.S. To anyone who looked close enough, Lord Voltarr is a thief, not in the steel industry lol.))
  19. Lol nice, really good. I especially like your interviews!
  20. ((Hey, it's Agent Techtro again; and once again, I perfer you call me Tech. For you fanfic-writer wannabees out there, I'm with ya! This is an Openish Roleplay. What does "Openish" mean, you ask? Well I'll tell ya! It means I'm fine with pretty much any kinda player joining, AS LONG AS THE STICK TO THE STORY . I've seen stories with 50 different players taking 50 different spin-offs of the same begining. So post your entires (and a little discription to help us all out,) and I'll put out a second post when we have a good number of people. Feel free to enter a second charachter if you can keep up, and also if a few want to nominate their Villain, I'll keep an open mind. Let's see if this works out, people! Participate!))

    Setting:
A busted up supergroup base in Faultline. A few heroes are meeting on an unknown tip-off. Prepare to take on some Supervillains, Arachnos, and Malta on the way.

    My characters:
Agent Techtro - Quiet and geeky, Techtro, or Tech as he likes to be called, fits in like a square peg. An elf, a teenager, and a cyborg. This is sometimes the triple negative for some.
Lord Voltarr - Every bit a villain, Voltarr "piggybacked" off of Lord Voldermort's infamy by creating a similar name, though in his defense he makes a pretty decent imitation in both looks and personality. He is a pure villain, and goes out of his way to crush, threaten, steel, destory, maim, and decimate.

    ((Let's see your entries!))
