Need for Speed Stone Armor Brute Guide v 1.5
Ok, stupid question but what do the (A)'s next to the first enhancements for each power stand for? Any level?
I can't believe that this question is being asked yet again! It's the default slot assignment. In other words the slot the power comes with.

I undersatnd that much my question is about the lvl of enhancment I should put there for the above build.
One more question about this build. Would it be better to just use all level 50 IO sets or would I not get the same bonuses? I know sorry for the dumb questions but I am an IO noob!
I am going to give you the courtesy of not ripping you a new one for the questions which have already been answered multiple times. Unlike how you treated me yesterday when I was having a bad day and the whole respec thing just wasn't' clicking for me.
IO set bonuses only work up to within three levels of your exemplared level.
IE. If you slot Level 50 bonuses, you will only get the set bonus from level 47 on up. If you are exemplared below level 47 you loose the bonuses.
See this Paragonwiki article on how set bonuses work.
But what about the actual IO percentages? Aren't those less at levels below 50?
Yes, but unless you are slotting ridiculously low sets, the amount that you loose per IO will most likely be made up for in the set bonuses. ED (Enhancement Diversification) means that you loose part of the enhancement value when you slot more than 1 of a certain type of enhancement, say accuracy. The more you slot, the more you loose. See this Paragonwiki article for more information on how enhancement bonuses work.
All of this being said, I try to buy my enhancements for the level at which I think I might exemplar to most often. For me that is level 28-32. Your mileage may vary. Pick a level to try to get your bonuses at that will work for what you plan to do with the character. If you will only ever run level 50 content then level 50 IO's are fine, but if you want your bonuses to work at a lower level, then you should plan your build accordingly.

Crushing Impact Acc/Dmg
According the table:
lvl 49 craft cost = 233,580 inf, enhance acc/dmg = 26.2%/26.2%
lv 50 craft cost = 490,400 inf, enhance acc/dmg = 26.5%/26.5%
Say you have a base melee power of 100 pts.
with lvl 49 crushing imp: 100 -> 126.2
with lvl 50 crushing imp: 100 -> 126.5
whoopee... you increased your damage by 0.3 pts.
What if you had a power that had 1000 pts?
with lvl 49 crushing imp: 1000 -> 1262
with lvl 50 crushing imp: 1000 -> 1265
yay! a 3 pt improvement from lvl 49!

Let's look at Crushing Impact lv 30: 21.8%/21.8%, craft @ 43,700 inf
with lvl 30 crushing imp: 100 -> 121.8
with lvl 50 crushing imp: 100 -> 126.5
Oh the horror!!! It's 4.7 pts less compared to a lvl 50!
In summary, you don't have to slot lvl 50 IOs. Even if you have to slot lvl 30s, the performance difference isn't that much.
If you want to see what your build would be like with lower level IOs, you can change the IO lvl in Mids. In the options menu, look for enhancement level default (or something like that). Change it from 50 to 30 or whatever level you want. I usually open 2 windows for Mids, one at lvl 30 and the other at lvl 50 so that I can view totals, active sets, etc.
Ok got it now thanks alot cray
When the great forum migration occurred, it messed up the code in the builds that were posted, hence all the emoticons. Also the builds are prototype/blueprint designs, feel free to modify them to your preference. Newer designs were long ago created but lack of time and motivation precluded an updated guide.
Now that ish 19 is out, the builds have again been modified for my stone armor alts to use.
As to them being dysfunctional....."rechecks my stone armor alts and notes they have at least three of the Mo badges....rechecks the vid files created of them easily plowing through the Alpha slot unlock arc.....rechecks vid files of them easily handling +3/8 mobs....".....yep, real dysfunctional

My brute currently runs at 53.5% S/L def (I want some spare as my DDR ain't great), fractionally below the softcap to the others in granite, with 84% S/L res or 49% S/L def and 44.8% psi def out of it.
Add to that 3 +5% run speed and 3 +7.5%, and +50% global recharge from sets plus the spiritual alpha slot, I reckon the toon is much more functional than what you've posted, particularly as I don't have KB sets in my main attacks, so I won't have to chase stuff across the map when my KD becomes KB and will do a lot more damage.
I have 2 stone tanks and 2 stone brutes at 50, the first getting there in Jan 05 so I've played the set a lot.
It's true. This game is NOT rocket surgery. - BillZBubba
ANY melee toon should have very little trouble with the alpha slot arc (I've so far done it on 5 of mine solo), and any stoner can do +3x8 of anything that doesn't do non positional psi or horrific end drain.

Mileage varies for everyone, build your toons as you choose and I'll do the same, thanks.

I remember mace and axe when those powers did KB rather than KD and it was horrific.

Yeah, but don't publish it as a guide, I don't want people spending (admittedly not that much inf) on the KB sets and finding they render the toon unplayable for them.

As to not publishing it as a guide, I'll keep my own counsel on what gets included in any future guides I decide to upload and it is up to the players to decide what they will spend for their toons and what they will spend it on.
As previously stated the builds are blueprint/guidelines to be modified per the player's own personal preferences which of course includes power choice and IO set choice.

The only question I have is around Rooted use. It seems to be a hefty price to pay for continual use after you get Granite. 200% regen is nice, but I really do like moving around. What +run speed % do you need to not hate the move penalty?
