The only redname response I seemed to hear about was on a completely different thread. So yeah I agree that its not good that nothing is being really addressed here. But for the majority of the posters here this change is definitly on the same lines as ED.

Wow, even more gross exaggeration of how much people hate this change. I'll say it again, the people who have generally been posting in this thread do not represent the player base.

The discussion here seems to have fallen on deaf ears, and there's nothing more frustrating than that feeling for a large number of paying customers.

You're kidding, right? Of the 750+ posts so far in this thread, the vast majority of them have been by the same small number of people, myself included. This is anything but a "large number of paying customers."

You know what the "large number of paying customers" think? They don't care!

100 good experiences don't matter if 1 bad experience causes someone to give up on the game.

[/ QUOTE ]
So how many good experiences should a company provide before they're willing to give up an unreasonable customer? Have you ever heard of the old saying, "You can't please all of the people all of the time?"

Crap, man, if "someone might leave the game!!!" is your excuse for justifying the game just sitting on the status quo and allowing exploits to continue, I really don't care if you're happy or not. Maybe they shouldn't roll out Issue 12 when it's ready, because if 100 people like it and 1 person hates it and leaves the game as a result, it's not worth it, right?

You folks who state or imply that people are leaving the game because of this really amuse me. Yeah, there's such a mass exodus happening. Oh, wait, that's right, there's not. Everything you folks have said has been totally bogus in my observations. You've said people aren't running task forces, I see that they are. You've said that people are leaving the game, I see that they're not. You've said task forces are failing en masse, I have yet to fail one since they've made the change. You've said that task forces are miserable experiences, I have yet to run across anyone who hasn't enjoyed them. You've said some form of new massive exploit is happening, I haven't seen it.

And my favorite? Now you've said the developers have "deaf ears," yet they've [u]posted[u] [u]repeatedly[u] [u]about[u] [u]it[u] [u]over[u] [u]and[u] [u]over[u] [u]again[u] [u]ad[u] [u]nauseum[u], and they're still tinkering with how exactly it works. Deaf ears, my [censored]. Just because they don't do exactly what YOU want exactly how YOU want it and when YOU demand doesn't mean they're deaf. It just means that they listen to all players and act according to what they think is in the best long-term interest of the game.

And we all see how devastated City of Heroes was after Enhancement Diversification, right? With the massive drop in subscriptions? Oh wait, that's right, the game is as popular as it has ever been, with servers even shutting down during an event due to the server-wide population cap being reached!

"The sky is falling, the sky is falling!" Um, no, it's not, and it wasn't then, either.

Latest change is still stupid untill they add in the ability to kick people who have logged out but remain ingrained into the TF system. Aside from griefing potential internet outages and disconnects are not uncommon.

Um Tony there were a lot of people that did drop subscriptions with ED. There were plenty that stayed. It was an unpopular change but even that was tested on the test server before it was generally released. The only thing I don't like about this recent change is it had no advanced notice, no advanced testing and no advanced feedback. It was just dropped on everyones laps and chalked up to an "oops my bad it just slipped through." I've done TFs after this change. I've done SFs after this change. If the team is good then kudos it should be doable. If the team has bad luck and people DC due to whatever reason well try again next time because there is no help for you there. This type of change fixed a small, and uncomplained about problem but didn't take into account specifics of peoples situations. If they had changed the TFs/SFs first on and individual basis and then dropped this one I doubt there would have been any problems; but they did this first without addressing the problems in individual TFs and left quite a few, not everyone, angry.

Obviously they do or else the devs wouldn't have been working on a change that is now on the test server.

Pssst, ED discussion and relevant arguments are that way ------>. This thread's about TF changes.

Your argument about "not large amounts of paying customers" is as valid or invalid as mine is. Neither of us has any true data (nor could any such data accurately be obtained on this issue), but since you like basing broad, sweeping assumptions on only the experiences you've had (like saying "I've had great TF runs since this change, so clearly it's working great!"), allow me to share my experiences; virtually everyone I regularly talk to in-game opposes the original change in some form, with the addition of some people I don't regularly talk to but instead see them voice their opinion on chat channels. Based on my experiences both there and on the forums, a huge proportion of customers oppose the original change. So yeah, neither of us has any data, and I could be wrong about a large population of customers actually opposing it, but I'm no more or less wrong than you are, so stop acting like it.

In other news related to not bashing this thread's favorite "play as I want you to " troll, this thread's now more or less obsoleted by the step in the right direction the devs have taken (see relevant patch change in Test server section). While it's not the best thing they could've done, it's definitely the lesser of two evils and a sign that they're still listening to the playerbase -- which, apparently had significant enough opposition to the original change that the devs decided to scale this back a good bit -- so, in that sense, props and thanks to the devs for listening.

How do you know what a majority of the customers think? Did you take a poll? Tarot cards? disembowel a goat?
