Help with a trippy costume

I'm looking for some ideas for making a good costume for my new Illusion/Empathy Controller named Psychedela. Like the name, I'm trying to come up with a costume idea that's "psychedelic". I was thinking of something very colorful and possibly retro looking, but my personal attempts have failed so far. If anyone is able to come up with any costume ideas to help, I'd appreciate it very much.

Thanks!

I'd go with painfully bright colors that clash, combined with busy patterns overlaid with eye-melting auras. Based on your reg date, I'm guessing that you have Vet Badge access to the Prestige run powers. Two of those are psychedelic rainbow colors. One is a rainbow aura while another actually leaves a rainbow trail.

Edit: An excellent color combo is the brightest red with the brightest blue, in a busy pattern. The human eye can't properly focus blue light, so the red/blue combo gives the illusion that one part of the pattern is floating just above the other.

What does anyone think of this?

I tried the whole doing the horribly clashing bright colors you suggested, Ironik, but I couldn't even stand it myself, lol. I think the psyche pattern helps in making this look really busy and I'll probably add an aura when I get high enough to make the colors stand out more. And you're right about those two sprints, I'll try them out in-game.

I think really the look you are more going for is classical psychadelia

I dig what you made, but i think it's a bit too matchey for a try psychedelic pattern

try a green base body and pink secondary, use the muted tones so that it will still be contrasting and not eye burning.. that's my 2 cents.

Well you know there is a line between "trippy" and "obnoxious".

Try the Dots pattern. (fondly recalls Cream's "wheels of fire" album.)

... wow. On a google search it looks like *no one* has a photo of the interior album cover art. Hm. Ah well. anyone who's got the double-album (vinyl) knows what I'm talking about, I suspect.

I think you're on the right track, but it needs to be brighter. Psychedelic has always meant "eye-popping" to me, with bright reds, blues, greens and yellows, in swirly, twirly patterns. (That pattern has an unfortunate crotch that the wrong color combo can really trigger the NSFW police.)

You're right about that. I keep trying and trying to do as you suggest, as I do think that is much more "trippy", but every fiber in my being keeps yelling out how horrible it is! I do have her running with that current costume (added a shoulder cape with the psych pattern to it) while I try to figure out what kind of coloring I could go with that works to make it more psychedelic. If anyone else can come up with a color combo in the generator that works, please post it.

This would be much easier if a single costume piece could have 3 (or more) colors in it, but alas, it cannot.

Here's a costume I put together after watching the Austin Powers trilogy in one sitting. Personally, I think the psych pattern doesn't work well with vivid colours, so I went with dots.

Hehe... THAT looks sooo sixties. It's just missing the peace or female symbol on the chest.

"City of Heroes. April 27, 2004 - August 31, 2012. Obliterated not with a weapon of mass destruction, not by an all-powerful supervillain... but by a cold-hearted and cowardly corporate suck-up."

I love it! I think that is the cutest little 60's outfit.

The Psych pattern I see others using is a little to literal IMO. Bright funky colors like this. are good choices for "psychedelic".

For inspiration I found this website. Wish I were at home so I could actually dive into Character creator.. *sigh*
