Discussion: Costume Contest Winners
Great job all...and thanks to the Devs for offering such a fun, interactive event to us players.
And to address this:

Honestly Im gonna give my most honest opinion here, unlike the sheep that just say "GRATS UR TEH BEST" and actually have nothing informative to say.
I think I speak for many that will remain quiet about the situation when I see that the winner of the costume contest didnt really deserved best hero overall. When you look at the detail and colors Komic Kitten selected and or found, you can see who the real winner is. And no before I get any tail bitters, I dont know Kitten never played with her nor have i met or ever will meet. All that aside in MY honest opinion she had more detail and honestly a better look. The contest winner chose black and pink... the most simplest color combination for women since Clueless the movie. I have spoken to quite a few people and while they do agree she deserves to be part of the list, she doesnt deserve best overall. Its good to see the Devs are as clueless as people who pick Cow Costumes as winners in the game. If you dont like my post fine your entitled to your own opinion, just dont bother posting back at me as I will ignore you. For those who have a solid reason/opinion to why you think Cutest little hero should have one by all means do post. also for those who think anyone else deserved it, please post up.
Again I dont care what you think of me or my opinion, just post your own.

We're not electing the president here...and we know how THAT can go.
You do not speak for many, you speak for yourself, just as I and every other person here does. You are entitled to your opinion, but yours is as valid as someone who disagree's with you, no more then that.
This was for fun, let's keep it in perspective, shall we?
Well, here I was about to make an in character comment about being outraged that I, Johnny Courageous, lost "Best Hero" to a cat (a CAT?!?!?), I'm through with all these idiots in Paragon City who have no taste, I'll go to the Rogue Isles, get some real superpowers and show the world how fabulous I really am as Johnny Fabulous...but that would seem a little distasteful after the previous diatribe.
So in seriousness - wow. Yeah, they all deserved to win because of the degree of attention to detail and their cleverness in capturing the emotes. I'm honored I was even selected with such a simple outfit as mine. But I'm still going to hit the Rogue Islands and start a terror spree as Johnny Fabulous anyways...
A FIERCE cat my fabulous friend!
meow.
Thank you to everyone (except that one guy lol) for the compliments! I'm still bouncing around and can't believe I won!
All of the costumes I've seen are so great, and I love it that I'm a part of some seriously spectacular costumers. Now we just need to get everyone together and throw down a boombox.
Everything on my costume (except the leg warmers which was my inspiration) is custom. Everything was sewn, dyed, painted and altered to look as much like CutestLilHero as possible.
The utility belt and panda were made using sketches I did from screen shots. There were tons of printed out screen shots from every possible angle all over the dining room table where I was working.
The wings took the longest to do (about 5 days) because I reshaped them, covered them in tissue paper and then painted them to look like the CoH wings (there is 6 of them altogether). I wish they hadn't been so heavy and looked more like my screen shot, but then again I also wish they were real wings, but that ain't gonna happen. *heh* I cut my bangs and redid my eyebrows (I had to shave off half of them and redraw them on!) the same day as the photos.
It was about 40 degrees out when we took the photos and even though I look pretty covered, there's not a whole lot of warmth in that outfit...lol. Also, a lot of people kept stopping to watch because I guess it's not often to see heroes walking down the sidewalk with a camera and a tripod.
See, now that's commitment!
And personally I love hearing what all goes into making these costumes, so thanks to both you and PokeKitten for sharing. There's a lot of hard work and ingenuity involved, so between that and the courage to then go traipsing around in public, well, let's just say that makes for one of my favorite holidays!
Story Arcs:
"The Joy of States-mas", #533168
"A Mosaic of Shattered Dreams", #497506 (2011 Players Choice winner!)
"Television Presents: Attack of the Toons!", #373710
"Lightning in a Bottle", #376222
Gratz to the winners!
Hammer Time!
Well I think they're all pretty darn good, and I'm impressed with anyone who even tried. I have the costuming skills of an epileptic yak, personally. Congratulations to the winners!
One drawback of the internet is how it has trained so many people to think that one day is a long time.
Loved CutestLilHero's costume! Execution was spot on, the hair and wings made it perfect. Adorable.
I think the reason she won out was because the costume was a tad bit more complicated/detailed opposed to a solid color two piece but congrats to everyone.
It's not really about matching everything exactly as much as it is a combination of that, creativity, originality and attention to detail.
Congrats again CLH!
@Poison Idea
Guilty of being tight.
Greetings, Mr. Death here.
Wow, I didn't even get selected to be voted on in the community pics. I will admit that the pictures did not do my costume justice. For the record I was about 7.5 to 8 ft tall in my costume and I only knew one of the zombies in the picture before we took that pic. The rest I "conjured up" on the street. If you were on 6th Street in Austin on Halloween weekend, you probably saw me.
Anyways, props to the winners, everyones costumes were great. I'd offer to shake each and every one of your hands, but usually it is best to avoid my touch.
INFINITY - Lady Moon Blood, Unit E-17, Lexy, Gargoyle Larry, Wargasmic, Moon Blood
PINNACLE - Wormhole, Baelzebozo, New Age Healer, Lint Boy, Jive Jitsu, Baratis
TRIUMPH - Moon Blood, Infrared Neck, Margor, Demon Baby, Mr Death, Murderotica, Penny Royal
GUARDIAN - Major Reynolds, Thieving Mia
Thanks for the props folks! I was thrilled to see everyone who entered, great pics This game has the coolest community.
There are so many MMOs out there, but nothing else I've seen allows the level of individual diversity and creativity that this game does. Even if your into comic art already, you get to breathe life into your ideas with CoH - that was the case with Dark-Hammer.

I honestly can't disagree with this descriptor enough.
But I'll leave it at that

Man, is that right or what? No other medium out there right now in the gaming industry has the amount of creative freedom that CoH offers.
Congratulations again to the winners.
good to know people just came to hate on my comment which was honestly expected, but hey its a forum..opinions denied. and to those tailbitters, yes I do speak for many aswell as myself. Dont be blinded but what you want to be true and what is reality. Many people I know (my friends, family, etc) have had different opinions about the overall winner. I just wished many stopped just hating on me and actually used some perspective instead of being sheep that blurt out "Grats" everytime someone decided to move. Honestly Im not saying lets all be mean. Im merely promoting some free thought, some actual real opinions that dont start with "grats and or you did good". We dont need hugs everytime we do something. A simple discussion is worth the time put in.
"If you can make a girl laugh, you can make her do anything"
"You're like Giraffe's, the way you look down on me, with your vegetarian scorn."
Ignore captain "call everyone on board sheep" and offer nothing constructive to this topic besides trolling.
I think the costumes are great, and the outfits are pretty darn spot on. It took considerable time and effort for all those costumes, and I would like to offer my congrats to all participants.
Reading how the contestants made their costumes is amazing to me showing such dedication.
Also, I would like to thank the COH Devs that created and run this event every year and keep the COH "spirit" going strong. I cant wait till next year to see the winners!
Gosh, thanks so much everyone for the compliments! This was an awesome experience. It is kind of funny because I expected this costume to take a little over 1 yard of material and a few hours. Well...it took EXACTLY 2 yards of material and 40 hours. 40 hours for a skimpy thing like that?! Yea. I thought the same thing -_-
So note to myself for next year---buy twice as much as I think I am going to use. And start more than a week before the entry is due <.< Oh yea, and dont go with such an insane color. You wouldnt BELIEVE how hard it is to find neon green! Lol.
*grumblestupidcostumegrumble* ;b
Anyways, I really do appreciate the compliments! Thank you for the support
