Discussion on Charity Auction.

I'm sure lots of people would complain if you could donate to charity for a badge, since they "can't get it" themselves. :l

Although a new costume piece would be great! I'd think it would be a chest detail, say the controller logo? /shrug

I don't know... i might seem odd, but i would total buy a in-game badge for 10 bucks if i knew it was for a good cause.

We have a WIIIINN-AH!

I simply cant afford to drop 500 bones on a statue, but I would pony up 10 bucks for Childs Play in a hot second. Probably too short of a notice this year to set up the badge (plus the support structure for the badge - you know, like paying somehow and getting the money to the right place), but next year - hell yeah.

An excellent idea and I hope you raise LOADS.

Is there any chance that some of the awesome stuff you have like Lord Recluse statues etc.. could ever be raffled in future? For those of us who would like to support the charity but can't run to hundreds of $$$, it'd give us poorer guys a chance of owning great stuff and I'm sure that loads and loads of us would buy a ticket or two.

Might even raise more then an auction.

Infamy, infamy, they've all got it infamy!!!

That is a great idea, I am talking with the powers that be over on this end, we would like to get involved with a few more charities and perhaps do something a few times a year to benefit different organizations.

So we will see what comes around.

Add another vote for something in-game or game-item (even bumper stickers) that could go for $5-$10 so more folks could participate! I'd get in on a costume piece or badge or collectable card, or such like that for a charity, definitely.

It would be cool if you offered in game item codes for a small amount for those players that want to give, but don't have the moola for the pricey stuff.

Things like the VIP edition codes or the special GVE Edition goodies. This way I can also donate without having a t-shirt I'll never wear shipped to me in gas guzzling trains, planes, and automobiles.

Wonderful feedback, it helps us know what we can do to get the most mileage out of the effort.

How about proceeds from shirt sells going to there as well.

And where can I order a couple of them ???

I'm with nomad been trying to get them to loosen up them in game codes for quiet some time.

Good luck.

QFT, one thousand times.

I'd pay $5 or $10 for some cool ingame item, knowing that the cash was going to a worthwhile cause. Not having read too much of this thread, examples I can think of are, St. Jude's Ranch, Third world relief, etc. etc. etc.

Examples of ingame items: unlockable costume pieces or patterns, maybe a "pet" like the vet reward mech man. Oddly enough, I would not want to include a badge in this, since I want the donation to be for it's own sake, not something that every badgeaholic feels they must do.

Scrappers are just like chainsaws. Somewhat hard to handle, EXTREMELY dangerous, and by far the most fun when wielded by the slightly insane.

Likewise, and similar to the idea I just PMed Ex with (auctioning off one-year-duration yellow "Dev Titles", along with other minor in-game stuff).

Bull's eye. Only three players get to take part in this - less if one person grabs more than one item! But I think I would rather get a costume option than a badge.

How about: a Cape with the Child's Play logo on it ... and a matching chest emblem? I'm willing to bet, the charity would give permission to NCSoft to offer such things, as it'd be to raise funds for the charity itself.

If I'm going to donate to a charity, I would really rather not brag about it by having it as a badge.

Note: you don't have to wear a badge, just because you have it. ^_^

I agree, I am in the same boat.

This is a great cause and i would love to pitch in $5-$20. I dont have the $300 that the auctions are going for.

Is there a way, like having an in-game item to purchase or some very very small, mass produced item, that could be bought mulitple times from the same ebay auction, so that those of us without much and still help?

(ebay allows you to sell a high quantity of the same item. Maybe you have to have the "Buy it now" feature to do that....i think that is after 10 auctions.)

Wow! The Lord Recluse statuette closed at $910. My bid was a pittance in comparison. The signed poster and COV game box went for more than I expected too at $256 and $300 respectively.
