Post your Pics of your new Creations
Thank you EEEKK and Smelt.... I will have to give that a little test... in another room, of course.
Edit: Thanks again guys! The esc key is indeed a marvelous friend. Also, I tried the drag to a door trick again, and it did work... I can only think that it didn't work before because I must've "dropped" the item and grabbed it again (easy to do with a tired clicky finger).

Out of curiosity how long did it take to do all that stacking?
[/ QUOTE ]
Like I said, 60 hours and counting. The first half took the longest, it sped up a lot when I found out from ya'll how to keep the desk magic'd. And once they are perma magic'd, I would log out every 30 min or so to keep the lag down while editing.
[/ QUOTE ]
How do you keep the desk Perma ?.. Thats what is stopping me from making a 2nd floor. I just cannot do it in one sitting..

Once you are finished giving them the "magic whammie", face them eastward to make them perma.... you canbring up your map in edit mode if you need it for orientation. I have desks that I made months ago, still good as new.
Also, see my sig.
And thanks Warface, though I think I'm a loooong way from being a "master". lol
The loft I just finished took me about .... errr.... eh... a freakin' long time... at one point I had 567 desks set up.. oh the lag!

Kat, I have to know how you managed to place the furniture on top of the bookshelves! I struggled with that and finally gave up and left bare floor areas on the top part of this. Maybe it was just what I was trying to use.
Not precisely new, only because it takes me so long to finish some of these projects. Also realize this may not be to everyone's taste, but our Liberty base is more tech oriented. I wanted something that looked a bit like the library at the university.
Library (3x3 oversight center):

And for something completely different:

Nothing overly impressive, but I'm definitely hooked on desks. And many thanks to Kat's guide, because that made all the difference!
Now, if I could just manage better screenshots...

Several things...
The library is fantastic! Really nice design!
The furniture thing is going to make you cry: you float the furniture FIRST at the height where it should be resting on the bookshelves just below. Then you fill in the bookshelevs underneath. You'd have to pull down sections of your flooring, and since you are using the 4 foot height shelves, you'd have to also change the floor height below your furniture - so everything within the floor-square would have to be removed - then stack straight up. I think it is beautiful as is... unless you have another 20 hours lying around.
I like the other 2 rooms as well
My latest is the early stages of a new villains group. Since the base is going to be rearranged several times, I tried to keep stacking to a minimum, so it can be readily pulled down and redone.
The 'theme' is that each member has (or will have) their own room.
Entry room
Dojo for our Ninja/TA
...with refreshments...
...shower...
...and meditation area.
Hydroponics room
...with actual hyrdoponics...
...med bay...
..and the plant dom's 'bed'room.
And finally, The barnyard
...with 2 stalls...
...for the Donkey...
...who is kicking back...
with the Chicken as his guest. The other stall is for the Pig.
I need to make an ice rink for the ice/cold corr and the mind/ice dom. I will also be making a sauna for the fire/dark corr, and a tech room for the robots/ff MM :-)
Thank you!
I tried floating the furniture first, but it wasn't high enough. Finally figured out what I wanted to put there wasn't as high as the desks, so the 'float' wouldn't work just right. At least I was on the right track!
And great job on all of those - especially like the hydroponics and meditation area, although the barnyard is really original.

Elizabeth, I love your library! I wouldn't fret about having furniture on your top walkway, looks very nice as is. As Rhynwa says, you would have to clear the floorspace underneath, remeasure distances and heights, poke holes in the pretty floor, float furniture *just* above the desired floor.... bah! Way too much trouble!
Rhynwa, I love how you've translated each character's "personality" into their individual rooms. It's exactly the kind of thing I envision having individual rooms with special edit permissions for.
And Plasma, wow. Just..... wow. I am afraid to ask how many desks that ship is taking up. I will humbly stop complaining about stacking a measly 567 desks, 'cause.... wow

Nice job.
I just found out the other day how tricky it can be to work under items that have already been floated. Had some trees floated, and clicked on one while stacking desks under it for a different level...... arrrrrggghhh!
*unstack the desks*
*raise up the floor*
*restack the desks*
*refloat the $#@#%!! tree*
[/ QUOTE ]
From what I understand, if you had moved the floating tree that you accidentally grabbed to the doorway where it cannot be placed and drop it there, it should go back to the spot where it was initially floated.
I haven't had a chance to try it out because I've been busy raising up a new character, but that is what I've read.
Good luck!

If this hasn't been pointed out yet. If you accidentally grab an item you do not wish to move, simply hit the esc key and it will unselect the item and place it back to where it came from. The same goes with if you are buying an item and change your mind. You can simply hit esc and pretend it never happened =)
So as long as you have not clicked to place, ESC is your best friend.
