Paragon City 2029 ((Open RP))
Through all the dimensions Acanous was existing in, he saw the sky light up in a blue flare.
His experience as one of the Keepers of Reality, as well as prior contact with Energon-X led him to assume what would happen next.
Cloaked in such an advanced form of the Gate as he was, he knew he could take the wave of extraverse, but small chance that the Defender could.
Forgetting about the robots- they weren't human, and could be dealt with if their shielding allowed them to survive this-
Acanous dove towards Target, breaking one of his own rules, and pulling him into extradimensional space.
I hope that boy's psyche can take some strein..
He looked up at Jake, shouting as loudly as he could "GET OUT OF HERE!"
Then the wave hit him, like a tree trunk to the gut. Even shielded by layers of extra reality, it still packed a whollop hard enough to have him puking blood.
His eyes widened in astonishment as he Felt different aspects, rules and time/space coordinates distort, merge, then rip apart.
I'm gonna have quite the mess to clean up...

Anthius had been irritated at being unable to get out of this bubble. Sitting there thinking about it while the fortress loomed ever nearer, he got a new idea. He was about to act on it when a wave of energy as powerfull as any demon he'd ever fought washed over the area.
Blinking, he expected to be recalled back to Heaven, but instead watched as the energy hit the field surrounding him, washed over, and continued on.
He breathed a sigh of relief. Pain, while tolerable, was still moderately unpleasent, especially if it served no purpose.
Then the field began to flicker and distort, the blast of energy seeming to hit in dimensions outside the norm...
Anthius caught the tail-end of the blast, and was sent hurtling backwards as the field collapsed around him.

Cry was correct that Daos had the star charts. What he got wrong was that Calamity was still over six years away from its impact of Earth, and it would within all likelihood, fall into the sea in the arctic circle. Far beyond even his reach.
No, this was something else entirely.

"Screw this, I don't have time. For all I know that [censored] is already frolicking around down here. Just point me to a terminal or something and my helmet will download everything." Cynic said in an annoyed voice.
Daos made a mental note. The Commander caught on quickly. He waved one of his assistants over and had them direct Cynic to the nearest terminal.
The nearest OPERATING one, which was five floors down on the opposite side of the base. Cynic caught that one to. He used the second one he saw, much to the protest of the assistant, the technician who had been using it, although not so much to the arachnoid that had been about to be disected by remote. It breathed a short sigh of relief before having its head chopped off by the guarding bane spider.

All of Arbiter Walsh's sensors suddenly spiked beyond any level they had been at before, causing him to double back in surprise.

He looked up at Jake, shouting as loudly as he could "GET OUT OF HERE!"
[/ QUOTE ]
"Y- Yeah." He stuttered, muttering a small command and immediately teleporting out of harm's way.
The five robots within range of the blast were, needless to say, utterly decimated.
-----
Jake reappeared roughly a quarter of a second later in Arachnos's section of the main villain headquarters in Talos. (I think?) Brushing a small strand of hair out of his eyes, he hesitantly allowed himself to sit down, his eyes still wide from the sheer amount of energy that had threatened him.
"Whoa."
-----
Tamesis hadn't even noticed the blast. Those that said the Fortress was well defended weren't kidding, the invisible shockwave that made its way to the base harmlessly cascading over it's enchantmented and technologically created shields. Still grumbling, he made his way to the air field, requesting to a random Bane Spider he encountered on the way to find him a squad of Wolf Spiders he could use for his next task. His armor clanged against the metal flooring as he continued to stomp along, the Bane spider speedily changing course as he requested a squad at the nearest communication device.
-----
Unfortunately for Anthius, L3-37 had just arrived within the shield's protective bubble as the wave washed over the Arachnos Outpost. His goal still attainable, he simply continued to rocket on into the base, Arachnos readings on him identifying him as an underling of Jake's.
Beginning to make his descent, he slowly began to drop down on a landing pad near the top of the base.
Time was running out for Anthius.
((I don't know enough of Anth's powers to get him out of such a situation. Really. I've RP'd with the guy for years, and while he has a few options available, I'm not sure what he'd actually do in such a situation >.>
He's been in situations like that before, but it's usually something Ac did, not an enemy version. Speaking on that, there should be a "Phase shift other" power targettable on Allies.))

((Well I'm back, mostly anyway. Couldn't even get me out of a dispersion bubble huh Ac))
Anthius looked around inside the dispersion bubble, yup, it was time to get out, he could probably try mimicking Acanous and rip it apart from dimensions and spaces it didn't reach but really that wasn't his style. Really they could easily stop him from doing what he was about to do but to do so they'd have to drop the bubble and he'd be gone then anyway.
"Well thanks for the ride but my stop was in the other direction, I'll make my way there myself, thanks."
His sword again materialized in his hand glowing with holy energy. It never actually connected with the dispersion bubble the sword actually seemed to disappear slightly before it would have hit. He twisted the hilt of his sword and the tear in space/time he had just riped opened up wide enough for him to walk through. He then did just that as the rip closed itself behind him with the help from the divine energy he had put into it.
He appeared beside Acanous about a second later in all the dimensions Acanous was currently residing in.
"You look like crap, you know that right?"
Wiping his mouth on his right gauntletted fist, Acanous stood most of the way up.
haddn't even realised I had fallen
"Yeah well, some of us got hit by a bigass flux of chaos-vortex. I'll look better when I have a shower, and maybe something to drink."
Turning around, Acanous surveyed the damage to the streets and people. Absentmindedly, he flicked Target back into Normal space, if you could still call it "Normal". Small rips had begun to form, thin spaces between "Veils". Acanous had some cleaning up to do, there was something on the other side of this particular veil, it was Hungry, and it wanted in.

Energon X found himself barely aware, adrift in a raging, howling stream of limitless power as a second Big Bang tried to force its way through him. Then... the pressure lifted. Just a tiny fraction. But enough. With a scream that shook the foundations of the frozen cosmos half-born within him, the blaster seized control of the torrent and squeezed, fighting to draw the power back into himself.
The otherworldly nexus slowly shrank, irising shut, as E-X dragged it closed by raw force of will. The beam dwindled, shrinking to an eye-meltingly bright stab of pencil-thick energy, spiralling crazily around the disc of Bladewing's own personal black hole before vanishing. A final, determined heave, and even that vestige winked out, leaving a seared scar across the retina of anyone foolish enough to have been looking directly at it.
The faint outline of the Blaster's energy-form could dimly be seen, drifting towards the ravening disc of the black hole, slowly at first thanks to the still-scrambled natural laws, but getting faster...
Meanwhile, not far away in one sense, infinitely distant in another... Target gasped a bit as he was abruptly slammed into, then... somewhere else. He shook his head to try and clear it, and glared around. "Lovely." he grumbled. "First th' Sky Raiders, and now this bloody mess. In th'Bleed again." Then reality wrenched, and he was back in Steel, next to someone he didn't recognize. Two someones. His fists were up, electricity wreathing them and he put his back to a wall. "Talk quick, y'sods... you friend or foe?"

Acanous drew a ragged breath, sealing a nearby rupture and restoring natural order with the Gatesaber, while still feeling rather poor.
"Well I suppose what's left of me would be a friend, if you're who I think you are. Sorry about the abrupt 'porting, only way to save you at the time."

The mask chuckled darkly making the conjoined mindscapes shudder. "Do not be fooled. He is more than merely insane. He has spent enough time in my prescence to have gained chaos power equal to one tenth your own," The mask had a disquieting way of speaking both on the inside and the outside of a being. The chaos elemental would feel every word down to his core.
Bang on the other hand was busy fuming on his mini-mini-train. "OY! Yah want power?? Guess what mate, he says that if you swear in the old language, the language of the gods, that you won't harm me-he will give you power. I suggesting you take it 'cause if you don't and you leave me flippin head I'm gonna crush you pahdna."
Meanwhile, the Dax cat sat on the outside of the two inner warring quazi-deities contemplating whether the government had released any new flavors of cat food since he had been asleep.

The Chaos elemental wasn't particularly perturbed- voices inside him were about as novel as the sky being blue by this point in its existence. It shook its ethereal head. "I promise only... non-aggression... for as long as you... do not... interfere... in my plans. Complete... pacifism... towards you... compromises me... far... too greatly." A faint shift in the shadows that concealed all of its face but its eye, even here, hinted at a dark smile. "Besides.., 'Father'.., you know... as well as... I... that such... geas... are twisted... all too easily. I offer... non-aggression... until your... crossing... of my... plans... without tricks. Between such... as we.., the meaning... of a promise... like... that... should be... clear.., to you."
"And... this host... power, even... a tenth... my own?" The Scarlet Eye reached out, mental and chaos powers intertwining, easing gently over and around the blocks that the Mask was putting forth, sliding through the 'cracks' to deftly re-work the blank white 'reality' it occupied. A perfectly formed throne rose out of the 'ground', knitting itself together as the Eye sank back gracefully onto it. "Power is... nothing.., without... subtlety." the elemental finished.

L3-37 blinked, simply put. The Detention Field was supposed to stop even teleporters from having access to the outside world, keeping even the most jumpy of foes pinned down until it was convienent to let them do otherwise.
Needless to say, he was confused.
"Statement: File Directory, Internet Acronym: wtf?"
Bladewing reached out and sealed the nature of his sword, moments before Energon could be absorbed into the disk.
Then he summoned a spare suit of containment armor from his base and initiated it's functions. The suit flew towards Energon, the front panels opening like some mechanical mouth, and encasing him and his powers within renewed layers of protection.

My thoughts on November 30.
Cry processed the new found data, and yet he couldn't figure it out. Where is it? The exact location, none to matter he only had a flux of memories and names all of which Arachnos should have on file. It disturbed him that this place held more then two hundred heroes, all of which half of them were capable of deploying a full scale war with the right support.
Arachnos greatly under measured the might of the Resistance, and then they didn't think America had anyone left to fight, much were assimilated and those who didn't have the psychic defenses brain washed, by Cry personally.
Cry was firmly stationed in the nether dimension plummeting to reality to his make shift office. Five Fortunas waited in the room receiving the call from Cry of his return. The baby popped out of a vortex and became omnipotent with the area. His energy levels waned, and his shield vaporized itself. He felt a tinge at his back.
"Master Cry, you are injured, how is that possible?"
"My body is too damaged to speak, I fought with a hero known as Energon-X, truly a battle agaisnt an enemy, not agaisnt a known ally."
Cry shifted in air and a bubble formed, encasing the baby in a shell that hardened and became a glowing stone. One of the Fortunas suddenly stood erect and stood in front of the ball. "I speak on behalf of Cry, his injuries will be healed within weeks time, he has set forth a task. He requires the idols and runes to call forth the Shades, they will insure that the task is finished."
[u]Minutes later-[u]
Word around the fortress spread quickly that Cry was injured, and quite severely. The energies in Energon-X had messed with the ethereal bound that kept Cry whole, and Cry was desperately trying to fix this, putting himself in a bubble of temporal suspension. His division worried, he spoke through the Fortuna, at which when free she would worry that Cry wasn't going to come out the same.
Cry was brewing something much worse, a new beginning...
"Which one?" a voice with the tone of some manner of synthesizer suddenly inquired of Acanous. The source wasn't immediately apparent, hailing from below the collection of debris and rubbish the three heroes had ended up on.
The fingers of the armored hand that gripped said edge at roughly that moment, however, made it very apparent that it belonged to the humanoid in the slate-gray powersuit that presently climbed onto said platform.
Indeed, the man could've very well been human, no feature of proportion drastically out of place. The suit of armor wasn't overly large or bulky either, giving the man an athletic, if somewhat faceted appearance. In addition, the light blue visor that formed the ahead portion of his helmet completely hid the face behind its minor luminescence.
"No worries, I'm not gonna shoot ya." the man chuckled somewhat, indicating the lowered twin barrels of the weapon grafted to his suit's right arm, "I work for the Dark Dragon too, just like Specialist Danger..."
--------------------
And in the same fashion, Bladewing also received company, though the situations weren't exactly alike.
With much more dexterity than the man who'd approached the others, a creature that somewhat resembled the vicious beings from the 'Alien' movies made its way toward his location. Discrepancies to this comparison were great, however, as the being carried no second maw within the first, its fingers and toes numbered four, the elongated skull flattened as well as widened aft of the neck, and the creature didn't drool everywhere.
However, it certainly didn't have any eyes or nose, and currently it moved in the fashion of a quadruped; in plain view, of course.
Also in said view stood the diminutive blue man Bladewing had met earlier within the Bastion - although Danger stood on the shoulder of the somewhat skeletal being rather than on his own upon the rubble that formed this region's ground.

My thoughts on November 30.
Energon X stirred weakly, startled to find himself back in the armour that allowed him to interact with the physical world... or at least interact in a fashion that didn't involve blowing it up. He managed to focus a bit... apparently half a lifetime's worth of having a body meant old habits died hard, since, lacking eyes, there was really no reason for him to have trouble focussing... and jerked a little as Bladewing wavered into view. Then he relaxed.
"Oh... hey, 'Wing." he rasped, the vocoder correctly interpreting his condition as meaning his voice would probably sound like five miles of bad road right now, if it were still physical. The blaster waved a gauntlet at his 'body'. "You?" A pause. "Thanks." He struggled to his 'feet', then shrugged. "I've still got a few tricks, but energy blasting's out for me for a while until I can re-stabilize the portal. I'm pretty sure everyone would prefer that I didn't do that..." he waved an arm at the trail of molten slag "inside." A shake of his helmet, then an air of puzzlement as Danger and the... whatever... turned up.

"... no, I make it a regular practice of nearly vapourizing the last remaining people I'm able to try and protect. Keeps 'em from getting complacent." he snarked. "So what's the sermon this time?" he asked, exhaustion making him even blunter than usual. Feh... let's see if this is the 'pathetically backwards Earthlings' condescension, the 'the world is many shades of grey' condescension, or something new. he grumbled inwardly.
Across the way, Target snorted. "No need t'go seekin' out th'source o' that blast. I'd know it anywhere. S'my Uncle E, losin' it. Guessin' he must have run into one of the Arachnos big bads- a Looey, at th'least, from the look of that blast- and been pushed to overloadin'." Then the archer sobered. "Less'n, o' course, there's a new player in the game, with at least as much power as Recluse' inner circle."
He glanced around, unsurprised, as the armoured humanoid approached. "Danger? Th'smarmy li'l blue git?" He glanced at the other two. "If he's wi' that lot, he's like t'be arrogant and obnoxious, but not a danger... t'us, at least."

"Right..." the armored man retorted, crossing his lower arms in a helpless gesture, "I'll need a little more than that. Do you mean the emergence event here, the mental boom in this area, or the mental boom in the islands to the east? Personally, were I in your situation, the second one would matter most to me because there's a chance it could've stolen my memories..."
--------------------
"People? You mean the reanimated corpses there?" Danger returned sarcastically, a smile on his tiny face, "Well, more re-deanimated now. I'm sorry, but you ran headlong into a pretty obvious trap. If Ki here hadn't been around at the time, the location of your hideout would be public knowledge by now. Coincidentally, you seem to have a lot of luck on your side."
Of course, this was a lie - but there wasn't any reason for Danger to reveal the truth. In his opinion, they'd be better of if they didn't know all there was to it.
"Seriously though, I thought you were past the exploding stage?" the Specialist's demeanor transitioned to a cold, matter-of-fact outlook, "Or did I misunderstand that somehow? What in the world did the guy do to you for this to happen...?"

"Mental boom?"
Acanous streightened, trying to at least put on a facade of being fine- the repeated beatings he'd gotten today really did take a toll, mentally as well as physically. Manipulating the Gate was no easy task, even for one trained at it through lifetimes. Sometimes, keeping the physical pain was better than trying to fix it with Gate tech.
Most times, actually.
"Psionics are out of my bailwick. Emergence events, those are my demnences."
Wasn't even aware there was ONE mental wave, much less Two... 'course, if they occurred while I was in the Gate, they propably would have just passed around me without actually touching.
He looked at Target. "I recognised some of that energy, I've felt it's like before, years ago in the Shadow Shard."
Glancing at Anthius, he continued "If it's who and what I think it is, we'd best get to that one first, make sure everything is still relatively ok, then we can deal with these Mental waves."
Acanous leaned against some of the cooling rubble, his gauntleted hand rubbing his temples.
"With such a rent in the fabric of reality, I can't trust in the Gate to 'port us there. I'll be stuck behind a desk for a week before I can get the math down again. We're gonna have to hoof it.
Unless someone has a better idea?"
((OOC Note: Acanous needs 11 "Anchor" Variable equasions to teleport to pretty much anywhere at any time. He does have a few locations "Stored" that he's able to port to no matter where or when he is [the ULTRA base in Warburg, his private sanctum "Haven", and the hero base in Steel Canyon.]

"You can't be serious, Cry wouldn't want to bring those two back to life. They hated him and even worse they fought with each other. And then he even steps on the bounds of rules and authorities, he is breaking so many regulations."
"As if he follows them now... once Recluse is back he will step back in line, with him at the ropes he is making sure Recluse doesn't fight another war, he fills our ranks with powerful brain-washed heroes and accurately predicts breakdowns and retaliations."
"He reminds me of the old Lieutenants before the Destined One's fixed each and everyone one of them." The Captain shuffled with the chest moving it to a more comfortable position. The captain entered the office with the Fortuna.
The chest was put forth in front of the stone, locks clicking instantly. "The chest opens to its owner, now take the objects and place them around me." The voice was a whisper in the room, bouncing off every surface. The Fortuna and the Captain did as they were told placing out four items, a mask with a feather, a locket, a half-burnt diary, and a pair of vials each sucking the light around them.
The objects as soon as they were placed started to float and like magnets stuck to the floating stone that encased Cry. The objects sunk in leaving a ripple where they were placed. "Brother and Sister, dead but still in conflict, how I enjoyed taking your lifes. Now as scions of my will, you are my servants!
Runes and symbols wavered in the air, voices and whispers chanting and chanting, the Fortuna fell to the ground scratching at her face mask. "Make the voices stop!" The runes started to pile on each other, stacking and stacking until a mold of a human formed.
Several black blots shot out of the stone into the mass of runes, shadows stuck to both covering each. Then the shadows receded and there stood two human-beings. "You will find your body and mind, but your souls are mine. As soon as the task is complete you two shall be lifted from my curse."
One of the figures lifted its head and spoke its voice of a young man. "You bring us back to fight, why do you not leave us alone, we were at love when we fought you, but you keep that feeling and I only remember hate. The torture my master, what is it that makes you want us to sorrow?" The man stood six foot and wore faded colors of blue and white, his uniform torn and still intact from some battle.
"He brings us back, because he knows we are capable. He brings us back to make us pay, and to reward us." The woman then knelt, she wore a dark pink suit, her blazing orange hair hiding her face as she knelt at the stone.
"To reward of course, I made sure you two would be apart for a lost amount of time and I promised your love would return, did I not?"
They both mumbled yes. "You were both masters at your art, chi masters, it will now come down to you fighting your friends." Cry explained that they both were to interfere with the efforts of the heroes who sought the meteor in Mercy.
"You are cruel Cry, yet we now know that your not immortal, since you hide in that shell."
Cry was angered at the assumption. "Even gods must lick their wounds." The two both stood wiping dust of their shoulders and placing capes on.
"Its not in our will but we have no choice my love." The man got up.
"We were once star-crossed lovers, and look at the tragedy that was brought upon us." The girl pondered.
"Our fate should of been left alone long ago." The man spoke.
"Yet he the one who holds fates, decides to let the stars cross again..." The girl flipped her hair back.
"We will fight again, but not as heroes we once were. Fallen Stars are we, no longer celebrities, but infamous." The man once known as the Blue Starlet with his lover the Ruby walked out of the room vanishing to their tasks before scanners of their existence hit Arachnos scanners.
"What happened?" The Fortuna got up and the Captain just stood there.
"Please remove the Captain to the infirmary, he is suffering amnesia."
The peals of laughter shattered the throne. "So you where my first born? The one with the strength, guile, and skill to evade me through the millenia. There were one-thousand-and-one elementals released from me and scattered throughout the whole of reality. I have captured one thousand, and you are the last.
"But without an opponent living in this here and now would grow boring and irrelevant. Fine, do not swear in the old language, swear in the language of chaos. I will restore the power that is your birthright on these conditions: Never choose only one side in a battle-play both against the middle, never allow a mortal to know your true name or my identity, and finally do not allow anyone to know the extent of your power beyond what they themselves are capable of comprehending and battling on equal standing," With every condition that was spoke glowing red letters appeared in the air spelling out each of the conditions. If the elemental looked close enough he would see that behind each of the letters stood an elemental that mirrored the Scarlet Eye, and each where being put through methods of torture only thought of in a realm of chaos.
"The elementals you see there were each offered the same thing as you. They could not follow my conditions so now they will never again get the chance to wreak havok on the human world," With every word cracks appeared in the landscape allowing red light to shine through.
Within what seemed like the lifetime/second that was the longest/shortest that any being could experience the mental landscape dissappeared until around the two humanoids where row upon row of chaos elementals. Each of the elementals were housed in glass jars, and each looked either very pissed or very bored.

IN BANG'S HEAD:
Scarlet Eye snorted, briefly, still calmly sitting on nothing where the throne had been. It appeared to be... laughing? "To be... constrained... by the very... tenets... by which... I have lived, these past... millennia... is... onerous, indeed." It shook its head. "<Very well; I so swear.>" it said in the language of Chaos, still sounding amused- no easy feat in that harsh, guttural language.
"Rules... amongst... ourselves. How the... Order god... would laugh... did he know." The Scarlet Eye shrugged, not really bothered, and waited for the power boost patiently. While he could make fantastic haste when it was necessary, when it was not, the elemental was as patient as a rock. Immortality tended to prompt taking the long view.
The Eye briefly wondered how Lieutenant Cry would react once the undead infant found that he was helping the "heroes" in nearly equal measure. It shrugged. That could be dealt with when the time came; until that time, Cry would make an excellent protector and key within Arachnos.
And when the time of betrayal came, the little abomination would make an even better meal.

Energon X simply stared at Danger for a long moment. "... stage." he repeated blankly. After a moment, he recovered himself. "That's a bit akin to asking a normal person if they'd gotten over the 'bleeding-when-stabbed' "stage"." the Blaster grumbled. Stick me in close proximity to a high enough power active energy source, and my own energies flare up to match. That little [censored] caught me in a reaction loop- that blob-monster-thing was feeding off me, getting more powerful as I blasted it." A shake of his helmet, then a spark of irritation. "If you helped protect the Bastion from that little monster, you have my thanks." he muttered with poor grace. Every time I talk to these jerks, they're all 'more-sophisticated-than-thou'... and then they act affronted when I call them on it. Passive-aggressive pricks. "I'm a wee impressed, tho'... he ha' talked about 'lensing' the effect to keep from doing damage to anything he didna want to, but wasna sure i' he c'd do it."

((Just the invitation to take the aircraft carrier. But since nobody took Groul and Danger up on that, they've left by now. Groul has a communicator, though.))
Cry may have wished to be careful about jumping to conclusions right bout now - for with his grand scan, the undead infant ran headlong into a problem.
A big problem.
And quite literally so. Some distance from the site of his engagement, not far from a certain entrance to the Bastion's underground network, Cry's mental hammer ran headlong into something that could best be described as just that: something.
Said something stood in the way of the psychic probe, letting the mental waves cascade about it like a clisse monolith in a lava stream. If Cry had the ability to sense this, the infant would notice that said something encompassed a roughly spherical region just a little smaller than three kilometers in diameter - and within this region, Cry's psychic sense found itself utterly unable to enter.
Now, since the Bastion was of course smaller than the sphere, this meant Cry still had no idea where to find the refuge of Paragon's heroes. The Bastion remained hidden away, despite the Arachnos lieutenant's fervent efforts.
Worse yet, the sphere of something wasn't stationary. Indeed, the thing seemed quite mobile, and although the sphere's edge still sat at least a kilometer or more away, there certainly wasn't any doubt to be held about its movement.
Something had laid course for here...
