You don't miss it until it's gone. (part 2)

I just found this and honestly I chuckled to think that I am one of the people who get distracted by shiney new mmo's. But every time I go away, play the free month, then come back to CoH witha newfound respect for it a a game. Although currently I think that invincible is a bit too easy and heroic is... well way too easy ( i know supposed to be but honestly, a lil rediculous). I find myself reading Statesman's post. That the first thing they did was write "fun" and itmakes me remember why I cant help but like CoX.

Because this one of the few MMOs that honestly doesnt make you work to have fun. It doesnt force you to do mindless things to get to fun things. Other games it can take 2 hours to make a good team, 3 hours to clear a dungeon then yoiu realize you took the wrong path 5 mins into the dungeon and hey, now you gotta start over. With CoH you can do a mission that can be finished in 5 minutes or if you want do a task force that can take hours (for the more epic feel). So yeah, CoX is all about fun as its easy to get. Just go do fun things... go ahead, go do it right now, I would but i have to leave for my 2pm class in 5 mins.

When I first bought CoH, my computer ran it horribly, but my friend insisted that I play it so that we could team up and form a Supergroup. I spent many a day soloing, teaming, running TFs at an absolutely blazing FOUR FRAMES PER SECOND (and I raise a gleeful middle finger to all those wussies who call 15FPS "unplayable").

Since then, I've tried a few other MMOs here and there (all of which ran a bit faster on my Little Tan Box That Could), but I keep coming back to this one. I'm not even gonna bother going into all of the reasons. I just liked City of Heroes better than anything else.

Now, I have a much faster machine - certainly not uber in any way, but at least my framerate is comparable to that of a TV broadcast. My friend quit playing a few months after he convinced me to join, but I'll be grabbing my Permanent Nemesis staff next month. Probably because I'm still having fun playing it.
