I must be stupid, because I don't know what is that thing on her left is. 
On her left or the left of the picture. I don't see anything on her left, but in the picture I think it's some kind of evil cobra striking ribbon. I've seen them before and they get you whilst you're choking on your drool. It's how 'they' work, though I don't know where she learned that kind of attack. Seems kind of... dishonorable...

Yes it's her ribbon thing that he said he wanted to be 'flowing and full of life' but I don't know how it got out there like that. Maybe if it wasn't "cut off" on the border and was drawn completely it would help the illusion some. That's why I still think it needs to be blurred a lot :P
Thanks for the great feedback all. Great idea on the 'depth of field' for the sash, I'd been toying around with the same thought.
And just cause I like teasers, I've posted a few misc pieces of the WIP.
