infranview is a free program you can use to crop your image. Just google it, if you're wanting to use a headshot or something.

Not sure what you are looking for exactly. I cropped your pic and resized it for ya but it's not animated or anything fun like that.
The Crown
On a different note that costume is SUPERB! Very nice use of color and your theme is really fun also. Great look. 
Suggestions:
1. If you didn't want it personalized, actually Googling for "Avatar" (though "avatar" +"80px" might work better) would bring some up. Might want to anyway - you might find one you like that comes close to the picture.
2. As Larissa mentioned, Irfanview's free. Paint Shop used to have a free trial to download, the Gimp is completely free (but probably more than you need.) 80x80 for the forums... Mine, I have Photoshop Elements 5 (which actually does quite a bit) and just tweaked a picture and added some text.
Not to say requesting is wrong - it's not - just letting you know for the future. And knowing is half the battle.

How about this? Just resized your current image and put 'The Crown' under it. Not sure what his name was, but Forge said that, so thats what I put

Thanks guys ..those will do in a pinch. Maybe some day ill be able to create a nifty animated one, or possibly even get an artist here to do a redition of the character for me.

I suck at making simple, classic costumes. Every time I try...I end up throwing a little bit extra in, thinking it needs a bit more to make it unique, and it ruins the look.
Like your Captain Cosmic, id have a hard time making that character without throwing in some shoulder pads and some big flashy boots...not to mention a mask and such.

Okay here is a WIP of your future avatar. I going to add a little more detail to the crown and shading to the main colors later.

Yah I thought about taking it at max settings, but then I have to go back and turn them all down and such :P.
I dont care how nice your computer is.. flying into Atlas on Virtue during peak hours is a slide show..every time.
If you know you're going to change your settings, go to a less populated area. I've hit the rooftops of Kings Row, or Croatoa has some nice settings. I've also done Talos during off-peak hours (all these on Freedom). I've upped my graphics to max, spent about an hour taking screenies (turn on "Do Not Accept Team Invites" - this is important for your sanity), then go back in and turn them back down. No logging on or off.

Ive done it a few times in the past Kheprera, but I am just too lazy to do it again .. ive got a "sweet spot" with my graphics. A balance that I like.. and when i go fiddling with it.. I inevitably end up forgetting to change something back, and then I wonder why im clipping etc..etc..etc..
Of course I could fix that by just writing down my settings and such.
I guess the point im getting at is that im lazy and my settings are not so terrible that they made the screenshots look bad

I think it would be better to get someone else to take the shots. They can zoom in more without making you go transparent and can get some better angles.
What you really need to do is find a big chair (like in your SG Base) and do the big loungy benchsit where your arms spred out and you put one leg forward, it looks alot like a king lounging on his thrown.
Oh and ya I guess making Simple costumes is hard, i've tried to help people with them but I guess it's a specific talent that I never really thought was all that great. Still though, I wish I could do the big elaborate costumes like The Crown.
