You can submit it. If there are trademarks on those characters (which is not the case for each of our characters), but if there was, they would own it anyway and they could decide if they allow it or now.

I can perfectly understand they don't allow characters that are trademarked and especially trademarked characters from other games/companies. But fanart is fanart and that doesn't neccesarily mean of that of a fanmade toon if you catch my drift. Since official Co* characters are technically trademarked too, I'm a bit confuzzled whether you can or cannot send those (granted you drew them all by yourself).

I was trying to leave it a little vague but what I meant is ... the franchise characters (States, Posi, Archanos, Mako, etc ...) are trademarked, the game is trademarked but they can't trademark what you build with the game.

But the point is ... its their trademark ... and they WANT to put it in the comic book ... so they will allow it. If you try to put something in another comic book that is trademaked by them, THEN they might say no. But, why would they deny themsleves from doing something they WANT to do?

Well, thought I'd post this...since this is actually on the Official Submission Guidelines page...

Also, any copyrighted heroes and/or trademarked names that appear in your art will automatically disqualify it! We're talking comic book heroes, T.V. characters, movie characters, etc. If it's a recognizable, copyrighted character from a property that isn't owned by Cryptic/NC Interactive, Inc., or you, it can't be submitted.

Basically, you CAN submit CoX characters because they are a property of NCSoft. You just can't submit a picture with Spiderman or Superman, which would come in conflict with another company.

Bingo.

You can submit drawings (if you are the artist) of any characters NCsoft/Cryptic owns, which means all the signature characters (Ms. Liberty, Ghost Widow, Statesman, Recluse, Blue Steel, etc.), or any of your characters.

But that character cannot look similar to an image/character/trademark held by another company.
