The second Katsumei began even the MOTION of removing her clothing, Kevin was gone. The cell door was creaking back from the force that it was thrown, and the spying hero was outside, looking in the opposite direction of his cell. It was better to not be in the cell and safe than in the cell and then be assaulted, murdered, and possibly having his insides ripped out and eaten by anyone here.

"Mother####er needs to learn his ####ing place around here. That's what ####ing happened. Call me ####ing stone one more time mother####er." Douglas said.

Looking at the nurse Douglas could see that she wasn't impressed with his display of force or choice of vocabulary. "What the #### are you looking at, and where the #### are the janitors to clean this piece of #### off my ####ing floor."

[/ QUOTE ]
The nurse was indeed, not impressed. She glanced at the readings on her portable diagnostic station and then back at Mr. Washington.

"Lily," she said without taking her eyes off Douglas, "Have you met the new Anger Management Counselor, Mr. Washington? He's a very strict disciplinarian."

Ragrok listend to Douglas Washingtons speach wich held more profanitys than he thought was humany possible in a such a short time. He wanted to stand up and throw his [censored] out of a window, but with the bracer on this was impossible to do so he decided not to. He stood up and looked Douglas in the eyes. He knew he could esaly take Douglas if his bracer was not on, he also knew that Douglas was hideing behind the bracer and the ablity to control it.

He was now standing up straight, he now dwarfed Lily and the nurse. He looked at Douglas and decided to say anything.

((I wanted to make this post bigger, BUT I just lost my will to do anything but sleep, for a few reasons.))

Lily tried, she really did. In fact, the pallid goth girl made a near-superhuman effort not to wise off and to keep her features composed. Unfortunately she succeeded at only one of these things.

"Anger Management Counselor?" she deadpanned. "I can see why. It would take a real professional to manage that much anger."

She offered her best version of a smile in mitigation. Of course, people usually interpreted (correctly) that smile as sarcastic, but she figured it was better than nothing. She glanced over (and up...cripes that guy's big!) at Ragrok.

"I'll go with him to the infirmary if you guys want. He's my new roomie, so maybe I can get him filled in on what's what around here."

"And in this moment, I will not run.
It is my place to stand.
We few shall carry hope
Within our bloodied hands."

Douglas watched as the rock creature got back up to his feet. He could see the fire burning in it's eyes. Douglas knew if he pushed that creature hard enough it would be a very nteresting fight. Before Douglas could let out another string of profanities Nurse Shephard addressed Lily.

Douglas's prideful smile was quickly wiped off his face with Lily's reply. " Little girl you are so ####ing lucky the damn Nurse is here." Douglas said while holding up the remote for all to see. "Keep your ####ing smart-[censored] comments to your ####ing self, or I'll make sure you and your ####ing room spend more time in the nurse's office then anywhere else!"

Douglas glared down at Lily and Ragrok. These two will make it a very interesting year.

After his brief examination, the boy seemed to remember where he was and held out a hand to the girl with a smile that was much too business-like for a child his age.

"How do you do," he greeted respectfully if a little coldly. "Julian Grace."

[/ QUOTE ]

Ivy glanced at the hand and then shook her head. "I wouldn't suggest shaking my hand. People tend to react badly to my skin oils." She said stroking the leaves on her fingernails. She smiled a bit. "So aside from being a mean nasty villain who would destroy the world if you were let roam the world unattended what got you in here? I accidentally poisoned several judges at a science fair and then didn't feel enough remorse." She knew she was going to have to tread carefully around this sense of humor-less kid.

OOC: (( Sorry about taking so long to reply. I have had some serious issues to take care of in that nasty thing they call real life.))

Julian nodded in understanding, storing away this bit of information as 'potentially useful'.

"Sounds like you don't have a very high opinion of people," the boy grinned, sitting down in the desk chair. He appreciated the fact that she didn't treat him like a child just because of his age. Condescension was something he couldn't stand and he could respect a person who was at least observant enough to know he didn't need to be talked down to.

"My own incarceration was a bit more straight forward however. I am the son of Tobias Grace III, current head of Grace Industries. Under the direction of my grandfater, Tobias II, our company was one of the only direct competitors to Crey. Sadly my father, while a very clever inventor, is not a very good businessman. As a result the family business has fallen downhill in recent years. I decided to take steps to rectify this; steps that the judicial system did not view as entirely legal. I'm ashamed to admit that I made a mistake which allowed the authorities to trace my actions back to me, so here I am. A minor setback to be sure, but nothing too disastrous."

Lily winced as Douglas's chewing out erupted over her. When was she ever going to learn to just zip it sometimes?

"I'm sorry, Mr. Washington." she said with genuine contrition. "You just seemed so cheesed off. I shouldn't have said anything."

She took Ragrock's forarm in hand (her hand barely reached halfway around his wrist...). "Let's get you to the infirmary..."

"And in this moment, I will not run.
It is my place to stand.

[ QUOTE ]
Looking directly into this males eyes Circe' smiled showing her rows of razor sharp teeth. "I will do as you ask. HiveFather."

[/ QUOTE ]

Hivefather... No matter, they would all call him father or master eventually. The shadows began to lighten once more until the faint outline of the tall slender male could be seen, his dark hair covered most of his face in an eerily "The Grudge" sort of manner, showin only the glowign green eyes.

The head of the shadow nodded. The two green gems flashed and dissipated while the body followed close behind. Just as the ligths sprang to life, the bolt of the door unlocked adn a Longbow Gaurd waltzed in. "I have been instructed to take you to your actual quarters."

The longbow gaurd waited for her to rise and walked her to her quarters. After he opened the door he would let her in and leaved. On the bed, right in its center would be an envelope, completely black, with a seal of bright red, the emblazned seal was of a a pheonix, its wings spread wide.

The note read:

[ QUOTE ]

12 midnight

Southern War Wall

Do Not get caught and my promise shall be fulfilled.

[/ QUOTE ]

There was no signature, but the entire page was black and written in a dark red, that was dried on the paper, if she was keen in her sense of smell, she would notice the faint smell of blood on the paper.

Meanwhile

In his office, Fa'lin sat in the chair once again. He knew he would not be able to teach this class for the first week or so atleast, just to root out those who he knew woould not be ready, worthy or loyal, so he must delegate again, but who to choose to train these delinquients to use their powers? Whom could he use to control them? That question would need to be answered and soon.

His finished writing the last letter, the blood form the tip of his finger. slid down and fell to the paper, dotting an i. After the last sheet of black paper was folded, in is equally dark envelope and sealed. he waved his hands over them and they dissapeared.

In Cells 1201 to 1205, Circe's room being 1206((i believe.)) the lights would dim and almost go out, though the hall outside would still be lit, none of the light coudl get into the room. Thousands of tiny red eyes would appear , hissing and speaking spontaneously in anceint dead lagnuages, from latin to languages unheard of. After a moment or two the eyes would go out and the darkness would fade and two envelopes, each addressed to a inmate of the room, would be laying dead enter of their bed and would state:

Kayan had been lost in meditation for what may have been hours, breathing in deeply and exhaling slowly.

Something caused him to stir, at first it sounded like the voice of his brother, whispering something that he struggled to hear, but the voice faded away too quickly.

He opened his eyes, suddenly aware of the note resting on his bed and he stood, claiming the envelope. He looked it over and tore the end, freeing the contents and read the simple instructions, nodding slowly.

"Mr. Washington," Dahlia said quietly as the students filed out. Her tone was respectful and even, but very resolved, "That kind of language is uncalled for. I understand you've come to us from Ziggursky Prison. I am sure that life is very difficult there, and that it requires a certain amount of confrontation. A willingness to assert your dominanace over others will keep you safe. That being said; You are not in Ziggursky Prison, Mr. Washington. You have no need to prove your dominance here.

"I want to go on record as having said that I objected to the discipline system you are in posession of. The ability to injure and disable children in an effort to force their obedience reeks of torture, and I find it reprehensible that the system was enacted. I'd appreciate it greatly if you used a lighter touch with that death box of yours. We're lucky that the first test in the field was conducted on that giant, if you had so recklessly chosen to punish that girl beside him you may very well have killed her."

Having spoken her mind, Dahlia turned to leave, "Pardon me, Mr. Washington. I am a busy woman."

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Katsumei's letter went completely unnoticed as she was still shut into the bathroom, lamenting her dumbness and hating this co-ed living space thing. Boys and girls weren't supposed to live together till they got married! At least, that had been what Grandfather said. . .

Lily had grabbed his forearm, he was shocked that someone had touched him willingly, most people ran away from him or instanly hated him simply because he was diffrent. "Ragrok don't need 'infrimay' as Lily say he does, Ragrok better over time." He stated bluntly and went along anyways. "So where Lily from?"

Keven leaned his head against the wall outside, yawning tiredly. He wanted to go back inside the cell and sleep, but he just KNEW that the girl inside would be coming out of the bathroom JUST as he walked in. It ALWAYS happened that way.

"Don't be so immature... Just poke your head in, and ask if it is safe to go to sleep yet. It really isn't that big a deal, right?" he tried to reassure himself, which pretty much failed. However, he still went through with it.

His head poked into the room, eyes shut tightly, and hands over said eyes for extra measure. "Can I come in without being disembowled yet?" he called.

Posted

"Disembowel?" Katsumei asked the bathroom in general. She cracked open the door and peeked out at the room, slinking in and fighting the heat rising in her face.

"I'm not. . ." she said, staring hard at the floor at Kevin's feet, "No, I . . . Forgot, I guess. No disemboweling. We have enough trouble in here without chopping each other up in our sleep. Let's just promise to change in the bathroom and forget this ever happened."

Kevin nodded, not stopping until his eye caught something on his bed. "Hey, I got mail..." he muttered, mostly in the monotone version of a computer's alert. "Odd. Well, I need to turn into a humanoid orange now. I will be in the bathroom."

With that, he grabbed his 'new' uniform, and walked into the bathroom quickly.

Douglas watched and waited as the students left his gym. When they were out of earshot and eyesight, Douglas quickly caught up to Nurse Shephard. Douglas reached out and grabbed her shoudler. Squezzing her shoulder with enough pressure to leave a bruise on a normal woman, Douglas spun her around. Using his frame to block her in, Douglas backed Nurse Shephard into a corner.

That's when she kissed him. Not having been touched by a woman in a long time Douglas kissed her back. He ran his hands through her silky hair. He kissed down the long length of her neck. He could feel the warmth of her skin on his lips, he could taste her on his tongue.

The gym door slammed shut, wakeing Douglas from his dream state. His emotional rollercoaster had left the apex of the hill and was speeding out of control. Tenderness was changed into tenacity, kindness fueled his hatred, love became pain, and worse of all hope became despair. Douglas dropped down to his knees, slamming his stone fist against the concrete floors.

Douglas knew that god was punishing him for his sins. Why else would he send an angel into Satan's lair. If only she knew what she was dealing with. Tommarow, Douglas would show her the killer's, rapist's, murderer's, and evilness inside these kids, even if he had to beat it out of each and every one.

Ivy listened with mild amusement as she soaked in the last rays of weak sunlight. "So you made a mistake, someone got hurt and/or killed or some property got damaged and they decided that you were a threat to society as we know it and sent you here. Fascinating." She got up slowly. "How much time do we have before they lock us evil children in our rooms?" She said. "If I'm going to spend the rest of my life in this place I want to know where things are." She looked at him. "You're welcome to come along if you can stand my company."

The pallid girl looked up, a flash of uncertianty crossing her face. "Well...if you're sure, no problem. I've spent enough time in the clutches of the medical profession to understand not wanting anything to do with the infirmary unless, like...bones are showing or something."

She paused a moment, then shrugged. "Whatever. My problems are barely interesting to me, to say nothing of anyone else. I'm from King's Row, over near the power station. Yeah, it's kinda shabby, but it's home. Katie Bonham, the Carnie supermodel, is from a few blocks over. We got cred..."

"Honestly it was more about my organizing the sale of arms to a militant third-world rebellion. A bit drastic, I admit, but it DID up the price of oil and made things quite difficult for a few of our competitors. The stock market earnings were confiscated upon my arrest of course, but I still view it as a partial success."

The little interruption earned a raised eyebrow from Julian. He read the note with the same neutral/bored expression he usually sported.

"Interesting," he mumbled idley.

"Mail? Already? But we just got here," Katsumei mused quietly to herself after Kevin left the room. "That's kinda weird."

She hopped back up on the top bunk and noticed a small envelope was there for her as well. She slipped the nodescript slip of paper out and silently mouthed the words; Twelve midnight, southern War Wall, do not get caught and true power awaits.

She promptly crumpled up the note and tossed it in the trash bin. Did the Longbow think she was stupid or something? The south wall was where the exit was, and nobody was going to set her up to frame her for trying to escape the first night! Especially not some ridiculus anonymous note.

Did Kevin's mail say the same thing? Did every new student get one of these notes ther first night to try and weed out the potential trouble-makers? There were just too many unknowns. For now, Katsumei would simply sit back and wait to see what happened tommorow morning. If they made announcements of attempted escapees being punished she'd know she had done the right thing.

If not, then maybe the note was worth investigating further. Katsumei could wait. She was a trained assassin, and grandfather had taught her that patience was the first weapon of the assassin.

Kevin stepped out, carrying his previous uniform minus the mask, which still stayed over his eyes. He looked around quickly before shrugging and throwing the red and black costume onto his bed. He picked up the note, opening it. He read it quickly, holding back a curse.

Not only had this note somehow gotten into the room without his noticing, it seemed to be arranging something... A breakout? He had to check this out.

"Did your note say anything... Odd?" he asked Katsumei, not taking his attention from the note.

Lily smiled, pleased to be able to be a source of information about something.

"Well, when most people in Paragon City think 'Carnie,' they're thinking of that creepy Carnival of Shadows. They're the ones that try to come across all happy and madcap...but rumor has it that some people that go into their performances never come out again. Or if they do, something's just not right with them any more. There have also been incidents between heroes and some of their leaders over on Peregrine Island. Their honchos are serious bad news.

"But a while back, a different Carnival rolled into town. The rumor about them is that most of them come from an alternate Earth, a messed up place ruled by the Praetorians - whoever they are. Anyways, in that place, the Carnival of Light are apparently freedom fighters...heroes or some kind of goody-two-shoes crap like that. No one trusted them much at first, but they've been laying a pretty serious smackdown on some of the big name baddies lately. Katie Bonham, the supermodel, is one of their "combat Harlequins." She's not from their world...she's from the Row, like me. Joined up when the Carnival of Light hit town."

The pair arrived at a door much like the others in the hallway. "Here's our palatial abode..."

"Hmm," she said distractedly. Apparently the ceiling above her was fascinating as she lay back upon the top bunk with her hands laced behind her head. "Odd? No, not really. Just mother reminding me I brought shame to the family. All that good garbage. Like I don't have enough to worry about without her [censored] at me through the mail, Y'know?"

Katsumei had no intention of letting on that she knew anything at all. At least not until tommorow morning.
