GREAT BRITON in 3D (Poser stuff)

The single, most important question is, does the client like it? Does it fit the commission? (..) As long as he's happy, I consider the piece a success.

Now, I've never seen GB's butt, but I'm gonna assume it's not angular, or those quarters wouldn't bounce off properly.

OOOooohh.. I see. You mean if the cityscape were tilted a little bit, it would have a more dynamic look. That's a good idea and I might mess with it some (with Great Briton's approval, of course).

You're the artist, chief - I'm just stoked you're working on a GB pic! LOL!

I actually meant him, relative to the camera, so it'd be more like he's flying up/right and towards the camera. That way he's "moving" three-dimensionally, rather than simply 2D (i.e., diagonally up and right).
Tilting the city may work as well. I'm not really sure how you've got things set up over there.
*edit* Actually, checking it out again, you're right. Tilting the city could help, too.

I blame ignorance due to your fancy New World lingo.

At long last, I present to you "Great Briton". He was described to me as the British version of Statesman, so I knew from the start I wanted a strong pose that showed a lot of direction and determination. Since he's a flyer, that made the choice fairly simple.

Ah, the old "flex'n'fly." It's nice to see some old school heroes still keepin' it real.

Why must you continue to taunt me with your awesomeness?! I'm still saving up for mine! I'm still saving! Why must it take so long? This is torture!
Based on feedback, I've made some improvements to the piece;
- Angled the background a little for more dynamics.
- Stretched the lead arm out some to get rid of the 'flex' look.
- Altered the belt to match the in-game version
- Got rid of the boot line and changed the outfit to a one-piece
- Rounded his gluteous maximus (butt muscles)

Aww, you changed the whole picture...was gonna use the old link for comparison. As far as I can tell it looks much better. I was kinda with the square butt thing too when I first saw it. I did like the boots though...
It is amazing how slight changes can make or break the overall quality of a picture. The 2nd version is far superior in terms of impact. As always great job!

Great work again.. I liked both personally.
Other than the boots/belt (which were my only suggestions based on GB's actual costume), I was happy with either version too.
Wow...changing the angle on the background worked wonders! Much improved, DJ!

Sorry about replacing the old one. I tend to delete old versions of my works in favor of the new. However, I'd bet Great Briton has both. Maybe he can re-post the previous on for comparison.
DJ-
Another brilliant piece! I'm always blown away with how unique and detailed each cityscape looks -- how many city building models did you use on this one?
And not to mention keeping the color theme consistent -- huge thumbs up yet again sir!
Aha! Lots better!
Another great job DJ.
I couldn't help but think of Def Lepard when viewing Briton's cape... then I hear a radio ad for their concert tonight a half mile from here. Eerie man, eerie.
Please post more news on your Poser tutorial when it's ready! I would love to learn from the master Jedi. So far I've picked up Practical Poser 6 and found it very helpful.
Didn't get to see the old one (and was kinda wondering what some people were talking about for manny a post ) but GREAT job here! I imgine it probablky really did fall on it's face without that tilt to the cityscape. Everything looks better when tilted!
Either way, suppa good stufs!
Hey all. Sorry about the delay in replying regarding the old pic, but some serious family stuff got in the way.
I've tried to upload the previous version, but ImageDump seems to be having a problem with it's Security Code thing- so I can't put 'em up at the moment.
In the meantime, if anyone is that interested, PM me and I'll email it to you.
Cheers!
The new version is much better.
agreed, it looks great, another fantastic piece DJ
