As Tuft pointed out, all that he did was some photoshopping of the images. They are great ideas and really nice representations of the costumes, but they are strictly 2D. Making something work in a 3D environment is.. well... 3Difficult.

Tuft_ and I do this because it is somewhat difficult to this in 3D. I've been making 3D models and textures for nearly 3 years. I am familiar with the process of actually adding these designs to the game, but I'm not going to do that.
Doing them in Photoshop is way easier and much faster. Besides, these are just mock-ups to offer suggestions. Jay and Ian are doing a great job with the costumes they're coming up with in I8.

I really need to learn to photoshop that kinda stuff... I mean I can photoshop lineart so it has color <@.@> but I can't photoshop in the sense of "Photoshop a picture so it looks different" - at least with any level of interesting effect.
It'd just be darn handy so I too could make better suggestions on the Costume board >.< I have some serious honest-to-goodness anime costumes I'd like to see... but I can't explain them <-.->; and I feel it'd be more damaging to my cause than helpful to use pictures of characters.
(I'd feel like I'm saying "Give me the Batman cape and cowl!" <X_X> which isn't what I'd be asking, but you get the idea!)
