Five Year Screenshot Celebration
Pretty much every one of them.
Really -- this is the game I waited for my whole life and didn't even know it was coming.

definitely. perfect way of putting it. This is the ONLY game in my entire life that i've consistently played for 2 full years -- and i don't think i'm stopping any time soon.
Well, given before COH, my attitude was "WHY would anyone pay for a game... then KEEP paying for it month after month?"
Issue 3, Feb 2005... and here continually since. And same thing - pretty much every shot I take.
But if you want a shot, I'll put this in for no particular reason.
Heh, yeah... forgot to put in some screenies!
Herding Carnies!
Herding Crystals!
yeah, i know, a common theme
Headache
And of course... My first 50!
About a year and a half ago, an on-line friend I had from playing another game suggested this game to me and offered a 14 day free trial. I accepted the trial and began to play around. I made a few different characters to play around with, not really having a clue as to what I was doing, but I did have fun. One character that stands out was an Energy Melee / Fire Armor tank I made named Bull Head (had the larger of the horns at the time on, looked rather silly actually heh) and played to level 6 I think. Then messed around with some other character and finally made a Stone Armor / Stone Melee tank which I really enjoyed.
Once the trial was over, I decided to buy the game (1st pay to play game I've played) and eventually ended up re-rolling my tank for a costume I liked more. My tank and the scrapper I ended up making a little later can be found here. I've had a lot of fun with these characters but haven't gotten to 50 yet.
This is one reason I love the game. After completing a mission in Synape's TF, we were welcomed by this lovely fellow.
Here are a few other shots of Stone Clad Giant, my tank, in various missions bashing away with his Stone Mallets.

Thats a perfect way to describe my feeling 'bout this game.
*EDIT* Thanks for posting this Zloth.
I remember us taking those powers no one has today just to see what they did, like group fly. I caught a snapshot of our SG doing the "The SG that flies together, stays together." group fly thing
Group Fly
Which was a cool novelty thing for a while.
Here are some of mine.
The Shard
The Nutcracker
Cheerleaders
Victory
You know, looking at InfiniteWisdom's pics, SuckerPunch's pic, and my pics.... Did Dr Vhaz change a bit over the years? Seems like his zombie-body got bigger in relation to his own body. Or maybe it's just the light in the new room? (That room is just MADE for group posing!)
I think the Gust power in the Storm set is what really hooked me bad. I made Windy, a Grav/Storm, mostly just to see how that class worked. I figured I should see how the things work so I could understand the game better. (And because I wanted to see how pretty I could make a character in this game. ) It's fun shooting enemies up into the air with Lift but Gust.... wow! Whole groups of enemies would FLY back 20 yards!! I think *maybe* I got to do some stuff like that in 3D in Sacrifice but certainly not right off the bat! I was having a ball pushing Hellions into oncoming traffic. If they had offered a $200 lifetime subscription after that play session, I would have bought it (and I would have saved money)!
Y'know... with all of my various guest appearances in Z's pics, I'm famous! Or at least some of my heroes are... whee!
Actually, that reminds me of another heroic momement. We got a partial group wipe, including my character. Sparky's fire tank and a fire blaster got away. A minute later I see both of them flying full speed down the hall, flame powers blazing, and they pile right into the villains - burning them to cinders in seconds. Fooom, whoosh, booom!!
Five years ago today, Cryptic announced City Of Heroes. Here's a little 'screenshot spectacular' to celebrate:
