*l* that's just for making requests. Zomg and squee are quite acceptable in speech. I just got sick of "can u draw few me? i have char, but no money. i cn colr for u, ok?" "u color good, u teech me?"
Worse actually; it's hard for me to make up the really bad stuff. I just want.. ya know.. real English in request emails. Forums are quite different.

I completely understand how you feel squirrel. Discomfort and ugliness in any forums can quickly drive people away. And not just from other posters, from those who run the forums as well. That whole displaced feeling I've been getting here lately is one of the many reasons why I decided to start my own forums. I post to share art and just have fun. Not to get caught up in arguments or other issues. It's good to know that there are others who feel that way.
And thanks again DJ on that whole Victory thing. That was pretty ridiculous lol.

Regarding abusive behaviour in others... You do know that you can, and should, report posts that you feel offended by? The moderators will take appropiate action. If you think that there are just too many imbeciles, well, not doing anything at all doesn't help.
Also, if some idiot insults you, don't feel hurt. Try instead to feel righteous indignation. "What?! How dare the cretin? What a buffon! Hmph." instead of feeling sad and ignoring an entire sub-forum. When someone is acting like a moron it is better to call them out on it (in a civil manner, naturally) instead of letting them go about their merry business. Note that I don't mean that you should start threads about someone being willfully ingorant, but rather challenge their opinions in whichever thread they post them in.
So, yeah... As you can probably guess I post a bit here, a bit there and all without any harm "befalling unto me", so to speak.
I respectfuly dissagree on the 'calling them out' part. I've been posting on internet forums since they were usegroups, and not forums, and BBS boards before that. (anyone remember fidonet and acidnet?)
I can count on one hand the number of people who I've seen be turned around by tactful admonishment and well argued logic.
MMO boards are the worst of the worst for it too. I'm not saying ignoring the problem makes it go away, but sound logic and well written responses hardly ever do the trick either
Oh, I never expect anyone to become convinced that they're acting silly. It's just that you should do your best to weigh up unfounded whining with some actual reason.
Besides, there are more people who read what's posted.
imo...best choice is to walk away...otherwise your just feeding the trolls. the exception being if you are in the mood to stir up the lil buggers...that can be fun on the rare occasion.

I usually do use logic and reason; and I try to be thoughtful and mindful of others. The big problem is alot of the things that end up offending me are the types of things no mod would ever care about <x.x> I just hate the "PVPers are stupid" and "catgirls suck" type stuff. Other things the forums themselves moderate well (hate-speech, idiocy of a more general sort, etc...) yet when it comes to things I care about, it seems few people outside this forum are willing to be understanding.
So yeah... I stay put <x.x> the rest of the forums are dead to me now. I made one post a couple nights ago about hasten not needing nerfed and that was the last.
