Again, yet another CoH Movie!

After several long months of work, effort, procrastination, real-life interference, more procrastination, work and effort, my latest short, silly movie has arrived!

For your high-speed, low-quality viewing pleasure, The Recruit Part 1 and Part 2 are up on YouTube, along with the rest of my movies.

(YouTube is currently down as I'm writing this, but if you go there and search for "MoonHill", you'll find all of my CoH movies)

Both versions are at my website, as well as YouTube presentations of my other movies
There are also better-quality, downloadable versions (or even the whole ~10 minute-long saga in its original, undivided form). Feel free to wander around.

On a related note to the announcement above, I have a quick request to make: This coming October, my wife and I are going to be competing in a triathalon as part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team-In-Training. In return for the training and support TNT gives, I'm tasked with raising money for the LLS to help fund cancer research. Our triathalon team members include many people with family members who are battling cancer, as well as cancer survivors themselves. I'm truly honored to be racing alongside them, and for so worthy a cause, and I need your help to raise as much money as I can for the effort.

If you've enjoyed my movies and have a bit of lucre to spare, please do consider heading over to my donations page and sending a little over. No donation is too small, all donations are tax-deductable, and every bit helps.

(If you'd like to make a donation, but do not wish to use a credit card, please drop me a PM and I'll happily let you know whom and where to send a check.)

Thanks for reading all the way down to here. Hope you enjoy the much too-long and not terribly visually interesting movie!

Which compressor did you use? This one is unplayable

Wow, that was VERY cool! It's clear the amount of work that went into it, and it was well worth it.

WEll done!

Priceless. Simply priceless.

I can't get it to play, either. Just updated my Quicktime and still no go. The sound plays but no video. Other movies on the site play fine. The YouTube works, too.

Fun vid! You really know your emotes!!

Hmm. Well, I was liking the H.264 codec because of the really nice savings on size, but I'd rather have people need to wait a bit longer to see it rather than not seeing it at all.

Maybe I'll put up a slightly larger MPEG-4 compressed version...

Ah ha! To see that you need QuickTime 7. Upgrading just gave me the latest version of QuickTime 6. Let me upgrade more and try again.... (hmmm, iTunes included?)

Yep, that did it! Much much much nicer than watching via YouTube!

Ah ha, as Zloth has found, the codec I used isn't in quicktime 6. but it is in quicktime 7.

And it's hellishly space-saving.

And for quicktime disusers, I am working on the WMV versions. I promise. Soon!

It took me for-freakin'-ever, but I've finally got WMV versions of my latest movie up on my site.

And while you're there, if you'd like to buy a t-shirt, you can do that, too.

BTW, for a limited time, all the proceeds from any t-shirt sales will be going directly to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Go Team!

Man that was funny yet awesome from a film perspective in my opinion. How did you get it to look so detailed and with no names or other UI. I wonder if the movies I make come out so grainy because I use windows movie maker.

Hell yes.

I'm not sure why, but windows movie maker makes things look really grainy. it basically blends everything together automatically... which CAN have some advantages (like in stop motion animation) But generally it's not a good video editing software to have.
