Celsia

They old thread has kinda gotten burried, plus I have not been very productive lately. But, I am trying to get rolling again, by doing an old fav (and because she slipped in my pile). I have not forgotten everyone, just felt like doing this. I think the kinda simple costume also give me a great chance to practice inking and coloring, so I hope to take it that far.

That's a great start Celsia! <@.@>

Good enough in fact that I only have a singular suggestion.

The claws... seem to point "inward" (ie: the outer two claws pointing toward the middle); while the claws should (unless it was requested differently) point outwards.

Its not a big deal or anything though <^_^> I love the way this looks overall!

Your pics improves a lot!

*cough*Ok one small thing I must say is her right claws doesn't look good*cough*

Ty for the observations!!! I have made several changes..

1. claws completely reworked
2. Trailing leg tweeked (ty kat I though it looked off too)
3. Hair simplified
4. Tail shortened

Oooh very purrrty!!!! I like !

This version is much better I think. Lots of improvements. The only thing that stands out now that might use some work are the eyes. Don't ask me how to fix them however, I always found them to be very difficult.

Excellent revision Celsia >< Excellent!

My suggestion on the eyes - I notice the one on my left (her right eye) the top line is crooked just a bit; at least I *think* thats what it is ><

Otherwise you're really comming along <^_^> great job fixing the claws.

Think it is the eye crease that is not lining up that people are seeing.

Yup. The eye to the left is not tilted as far forward as the eye to the right. It's in the right spot, it just doesn't have the tilt that the main eye does.

However, nice fixes and a great drawing so far. The claws look WAY better and the hair is great. All in all, great work so far. Good luck with that eye thing though... those damned ocular globes can drive one insane

Think I solved the occular problem. Ty graver for pointing me in the right direction, everyone here be it artist or art lover is really a great resorce. I am going to try and ink it up tonight. TY again!!

It will always amaze me how moving a line a few mm, or a degree or 2 in tilt can make a giant difference.

ok I have basically never inked before (ok maybe 2 times). This was done by hand using brush and india ink. Some area need a little work (that is what ps is for), but overall moving along nicely, I think.

The picture is slightly low res so the eye area is a little fuzzy, I did change alot, but it is not showing well. Sorry.

That's really starting to come to life. Hard to tell from the smaller size but were you able to pop her right eye back into place?

It is hard to judge your ink work Celsia...that scan is small and the lines are getting all jagged. I am sure that someone around here can tell you why that happens when you shrink a drawing like that.

Ok a larger, hopefully clearer, touched up ink.

inking still looks a little jagged...

or sloppy.

In my opinion the inking doesn't compliment the drawing at the moment.

if this was inked by hand and scanned in, might be to blame... if it was inked in photoshop or illustrator, I can't see how the jaggedness would happen like this... unless there was conversion issues...

If you have clean lines on your end, then there isn't anything to worry about...

It was inked by hand and scanned. It could be the method I used to scan also, the original does look relatively smooth. Again, this is the 1st time I have inked with a brush. I am thinking of trying again in ps, just that actually seems to take longer at this point.

I am going to get this right!!!! *puffs up in determination*

I have started redoing it in ps, and it is looking much better. Not sure if it is the scanning vs my inking ability, but the digital method seems to be working well, much cleaner and sharper. Ty for the observations again.

Ok, I completely redid the inks in ps, I think it turned out well, and the jaggy problem is gone completely!!
