V's Guide to Brute Numbers

Hello here is the converted info for brute primaries and secondaries(forthcoming, need to do 3 slot system).
Please note that Fire maybe out of order will be editing that once i get into game again, CoH planner still is using wrong lineup for powers...

DISCLAIMER:
Some people just see this and go...."my god thats allot'a numbers.."
and dont get any help from a chart like this so here is a short guide on how to use this info in a way that is more intuitive than number
crunching
BI: Brawl index most know what it is...its the multiplier on dmg based on a players brawl. Brutes are .75 brawl of scrapper btw.
See this thread for more info

Dmg types: im using a percentage listing so .6 means 60% of BI listed dmg is of type, when deciding or comparing sets its important
to remember that many mobs in CoH/CoV have S/L dmg resists, some rather high....

Target-self explainitory

Act: activation times in seconds

DPA: damage per activation,or DPS dmg per second... this number is very important to those doing attack chain analysis, so if your
goal is high damage, you want a high dpa or dps.

End:endurance

DPE: damage per endurance...for those tring to find powers that give the most dmg per endurance this is the number for you,
the higher the better. note most powersets have very simuliar DPE..most of the time. also good number for trying
to find out a chain of attacks you can maintain...
some powers are way off from normal dpe costs and ussually have some side effect that counter balances them(ET self dmg, SM long act times)
Also note that the higher DPE like fire has no nice side effects like knockback,
so consider the power side effects with the numbers plz.

DpCycle is a strange thing its damage per cycle, or damage divided time until next use of power, it isnt a good idea to use this number
to compare with powers inside the same powerset (although i found this number good for making some dps chains).
its more for comparing different sets powers at various lvls.

Rng-range.

Spcl: what special side effects do powers do, note if some are wrong or magnitude isnt listed post if you know the right info plz,
espcially magnitudes those are a pain to find sometimes.

If you are looking for more of a critique of powersets look to various build guides as they are forthcoming, im just making this guides to get the numbers out to ppl so they can make up there own minds...or at least have a starting point. im sure well see all sorts of personal guides for brute x/y powersets soon.

on the brute side where i posted this there is apparently some effort reading this in non-IE setting so ill try and get another version up asap so its reabable for all.

So, er, um...great guide and all, but where are the numbers for poor lil energy aura?

Great work

I am curious though, what are the Resist caps for Brutes ? 75% as their Scrapper base numbers would suggest, or 90% Tanker caps
.
Not like Brutes can reach those alone, but it's interesting for teaming I think.

I think I remember seeing a post on this back on the Beta boards, claiming 90% caps, while other guides mention Scrapper caps, so 75%. Has anyone tested this ?

There is something up with your shadow punch and shadow maul numbers.

6.5 and 11.0 DPE?!? when no other power is better than 1?

might check all the numbers for those powers.

Are the endurance costs before or after the endurance cost decrease? That is are the endurance costs listed correct still?

The endurance costs are not accurate in his tables at all.

The defense for Rock Armor is also definitely wrong. (TANKERS get 16% def, so there is no way brutes get 22.5)
