The Dark/Dark Defender's Bible (Issue 5)
Blackest Night, thank you so very much for this guide!
Taking ED into account, I have found this guide perfect for designing my Dark/Dark Corrupter. Yes, I find Corrupters better as Offenders than Defenders thanks to a much more useful inherent, and I am playing evil as I shelf my beloved tanker in despair because of what ED, I5, and toggle dropping does to her.
Thank you again! Your guide rocks!
I am playing a D3 now and I am using your guide as a constant reference. I am goign with my own concept, but thanks for spelling what the powers really do. I am leaning towards BD3 type. How does I6 affect your guide?
Guardian
Hot Alix 50 Fire/Kin/Psy:Main
Mora Victory Tri-Ice Tanker
Jasper Stone 50 Emp/ Elec:1st hero
Lady Courage 32 BS/SR
Cleo Cat 50 Ill/Kin
Max Multiplicity 35 MM Thug/Traps
Ripoffs are tacky and taboo. Be original!!
i think a lot of dark/ defenders have decided to take a break until the fear bug is resolved. it's still possible to level with fear working as is, you'll just take quite a bit more damage :/
My favorite game moment, the one that hooked me on my D3, was when 2 teammates died and I hit Howling Twilight. The other 2 fell as I was activating and the whole team, 4 of them, rose in the air around me to be revived and win the battle! Got of couple of "Oh Wow's" at that.
This team stayed grouped around me obviously. I have a bind I use with every new team that explains the AoE nature of my bind and rez. I used TP Friend all the time to gather the fallen around me, or to move them within shot of a foe. TP Friend is very useful.
Thanks for this guide!

THANK-YOU GOD!!
I look forward to reading it.
Believe it or not, I used to HATE Darkest Night; I thought it was a useless waste of Endurance, and the animation graphic was so hard to see that party members kept killing my anchor. Then I went up against Dr. Vahzilok, and... wow. Just wow. He went from mangling my team-mates to just whiff, whiff, whiffing until he fell over.
This really is an amazing guide, Blackest Night, and ED hasn't hurt it nearly as much as you think. While some of the numbers for Enhancement effectiveness are now incorrect, what your guide really does is give a good sense of the powers and their capabilties. I have a 38 D3, and only discovered your guide today! Already its clarifying my end-game, and its also helped with some more immediate decisions I have to make.
One thing you might want to talk about, though, is the relative weakness until lvl 25 or so. Of course, this is true with all archetypes and builds, but I feel its especially severe with D3s. Powers like Fearsome Star, Dark Servant, and Petryifying Gaze come later in the game. Up until then, the D3 has great difficulty soloing.
BlackestNight - this is my Defender Bible.
I like quoting the lines to my wife! Seriously I have two D3s now and I love them both. I get torn between playing as an offender (on Justice) or a cd3(on Virtue) both are loads of fun. Any idea of how I can maximize damage? I like to solo and soloing mobs with a lvl 16 d3 illuminates the squishiness in me.
Thanks for the wonderful guide.
Well, personally I found this guide to be very helpful when putting together my Dark/Dark corrupter. It may be obsolete, but it's far from useless.
