kinda....I would think more along the lines of supes and bats(except make bats a bit more violent)...or Prof X and Mags (except nitecrow hasnt crossed that far over just yet).

whiteperegrine is fairly simple to paint. think any standard 4 color hero and your just about spot on. while not a "boyscout" he is most definately a good guy.
...Nitecrow on the other hand is a whole different kettle of fish. given her violent tendencies she is more along the lines of punicher or shadowhawk in her approach to crime. while she could be heralded as a hero, given her targets, she is most assuredly a dark hero...or vigilante if you will.


in ways, these two bring up the ever fun questions of what is a hero. what are their, as heroes, responsibilities if any? does might make right? where is that line that one cannot cross before being a "villain" in the classical sense?
...given this I really enjoy the idea that they are archnemesis. while I could have gone the route of making her more evil and in the badguy mold I find this infinately more enjoyable...especially when I look at it from a possible story standpoint and also do to the fact that it is outside the normal mold for an archnemesis, which in turn makes it more memorable and noteworthy than the standard Hero A with ever evil diabolical Villain B as his bitter rival who wants world domination/destruction...and Hero A's head on a silver platter.~

...none of it was intended as an attack I assure you. we really are a nice buncha folks and basically just layed it on the line for ya sweet and simple. is it possible? of course it is...it is completely doable and I for one truely do hope that you can make it happen.

unfortuantely...the reality side being that if you are looking for the top end artists to do the artwork for the fledgling book then it will indeed cost ya. you yourself mentioned you have 8 13 pages books already done. this equates to a ton of time an effort put into it. I have no doubt you could find one of the top end artists willing to give it a go, but this in turn wont come cheap.

asking questions is a good thing...and personally I like seeing questions like this. possibilities that they hold are truely endless but one needs to keep one foot firmly grounded just to ensure ya stay honest with oneself.

blah blah blah....I know...hehe....really I do wish you the best of luck and hopefully you track an artist down willing to go in on this with ya....and when you do be sure to post a big rasberry for us here.....

in the mean time please stick around and enjoy some of the great art posted here. some really talents folks and to be honest this is really the only forum I frequent anymore...why you ask? well...besides the art....its the people...good folk all around. as such...enjoy the images they all care to share with us. ~

why limit your greatest adversary to being a badguy? indeed...the worst adversary one could have (imo) would be one with ultimately the same goal but a radically differing method in which to get there.

...do these two get along? nope...but they used to...and that in turn also drives that wedge between them. the understanding of one anothers ideas with the hope that they can in turn show each other "the light".~

hehe...always amusing to see what people will come up with. been seeing a lot of poulty flying around virtue lately...chickens seem to be the BotM.... ~

hehe...closer...but agree with NPG here...the lips. ditch 'em, or at the very least thin 'em waay out. given it is a profile shot that is one thing that many people will key in on to figure out the gender...especially since that it where the "action" is in the piece. as it stands now still looks like our dashing hero is still a little light in the loafers. ~

...lol...I would call her that too...but given it was taken and I loath using other characters to make a name...like Carri0n Cr0w...and a couple others. as such, pretty happy with Nitecrow and thinkin its gonna stick with me...

...and you'll have to share your lil story sometime that ya come up with. ~

...have to agree with what Quake and Rowr mention. there are a buncha artists here...but be forewarned some do it for a living so if your looking for their work it'll definately be costly...especially given the scope of what you mention...

agreed. I would also be interested to hear your thoughts on the matter versus us all babbling along. ~

ironik is just about "spot on" for the approach I am going for between the two.

I like the idea of them having a similar goal but it is the method in which to reach that goal that the difference lies. this in turn is the greatest adversary any character could have. one where the ultimate goal is the same but the methods involved break moral/ethical constraints. shades of grey are more compelling versus black vs white as we in the real world can sympathize with such stories better as they are...well...more "real".

Crimson....along with Ironik's posts...that help clear up the concept for ya? if more is needed I can babbly for hours on the subject but thought I would stay brief as possible here...heh~

direct opposite? not really...she's more like WP takin to the extreme. she's a hero...although vigilante would be closer the mark. while there are aspects that are in opposition to WP for the actual "drive" of the character we find she and WP have very similar goals being "heroes....the seperation comes in the measure of force and methods used, basic ideology in regards to "what a hero is".

...true...not many heroes out there using this hairstyle. not sure why but works for nitecrow, imo. also...costume wise have to work with what I have...I cant do what I want with the tops so I have to combine what I can for the look I am after (well...as much as I can and still have it look decent).~
