I think you did a great job for never using one before!
I really like how that turned out.
Bummer about the scanner and all, though
That looks really nice. Feel free to butcher Frosty Femme any time you want.

Starting to get used to free hand drawing on this thing-- even though this is just a little doodle, the speed has definetely picked up, and I spend a lot less time slamming the undo button.
Once I get comfortable with something a smidge more realistic and polished, I'll get to work on fresh Rowr and TA pics, if the scanner is still dead.
Quick draw??? Only 30 mins???
just a little doodle???
If this is the kind of stuff you can do without much practice I can't wait to see when you get more practice.
Honestly With my stuff I either get it or I dont-- Whether its a fast drawing (8 hours or less) ot several months of cursing at a pile of polymer clay (Collaspe one more time and toxic fumes/property damage be damned, you go in the kiln!) I generally get the rough idea out very fast-- then spend insanely long picking at it, deciding I hate it and throwing it out. I throw out a LOT-- if you count the previous say drawing to this one, it took more like 3 hours.
But thank you! And please, tear my perspective to peices-- its errors in that which lead to me throwing out most things. For instance, I know the upper arm here has issues, and even accounting for being stylized, the face is off balance.
looking good!
Im Not Dead Yet!
First Off Sorry to all with drawings pending-- the scanner is still dead. Actually it works, but Im still working with tech support around a compatibility issue with windows XP so I cant quite bring myself to replace it.
That said, I feel really bad about those left waiting for my amateur sketches so I decided to try amateur digital art instead, as I procured a very VERY cheap, very old, very used tablet recently. Unfortunately I cant find screen names to PM folk, so Im just direct posting-- PLEASE feel free to tell me to take stuff down if I butchered your character.
South Star is my first victim, and I used him to get used to the interface. Unfortunately, the picture did not export out of deep paint very well, so I need to redo the black lines and edges. That said, for a first attempt at working entirely on the PC (A medium I normally cannot draw in for life) I was ok with it.

This was a fast drawing to get used to things- very fast. But he seemed like the sort of character who would walk through fire to get the job done reading his description, and I wanted to hit that angle of him.
Unfortunately, I also lost my reference shots, and had to work from memory, so the costume may really be off.
